The outside is a little plain but the inside is a vintage dream yet with every modern convenience you need. We happened to call last minute and the owner met us there in 10 minutes and explained the history of the house. She and her husband bought it and restored it back to its original beauty. There's a photo album of everything they did to restore the house and the antiques she purchased for the rooms are stunning. Can't say enough about how cool this house is!

This motel wasn't the first one I checked on, but it turned out to be the best choice. The owner/proprietor and his wife were incredible hosts. They must live on-site and were seen diligently maintaining the upkeep of the property. To my surprise, they asked if I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room. Thought this was a part of a bygone era. Surprise! Of course I wanted a smoking room as I had brought along a few cigars. (They were thoroughly enjoyed in the comfort of my room.) The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. Even though the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, they did have a coffee set-up in the room. In addition, Granny Clarks restaurant is right across the street for lunch and/or dinner. If I'm ever in the area again, hopefully under better circumstances next time, I won't hesitate to stay here again. Oh, did I mention the rate was $50 a night? What a deal! Please stay here and tell the owner I sent you.

The hotel had been recently updated we walked in and it was clean and the 2 beds nicely made. First thing I did was pull back sheets and blankets making sure no bugs. Yay no bugs. The sheets were clean and beds comfy. The staff was friendly. I spoke with the managers grandfather and thought at first he was being rude. The next morning the next lady who works there explained he barely understand English and speaks it. So I felt like a jerk assuming. any ways I'm staying here again when we visit my husband grandfather. Instead of offering a refund, a partial credit, or any meaningful effort to make things right, Customer Service essentially brushed me off by offering to "add some points" to my account. There was also a huge patch job on the ceiling by the window like it had previously leaked. The lobby and hallways were hot and NONE of the ice machines worked. I'm pretty shocked at how this room looked. Very disappointed!!

The location is wonderful--within walking distance of several good restaurants and downtown Granbury, and right across the street from the lake and beach area. The trees were filled with lights, and a beautiful ring decorated with flowers provided the perfect backdrop for the bride and groom to say their vows. The hotel provided a beautiful outdoor tent with tables and chairs and even assisted with a list of catering venues. The staff were so personable, friendly, and caring. They all really rocked our stay with their hospitality. Hotel Lucy is truly an extraordinary place to have an event, and I highly recommend it. The cosy grouping of cabins is a short distance form the main lodge giving it a secluded feel, but close to all the amenities and access to an impressive number of activities.
