I don't know how they monitor time limits as we didn't receive a colored wristband like other parks. Nor was there anyone calling out times to leave. People kept coming but very little left. The few tables and benches they had were taken. I wouldn't recommend the arcade or massage chairs since I lost my money and kid behind the counter told me he couldn't give refund.

Upon driving 1.5 miles into the park to reach the fest, we saw some nice park pavilions with hosted parties. Made a mental note that it's a great location for an outdoor party! Scenic, fun to spot wildlife (we saw turkeys!) and easily reached from the highway. It was our first time visiting the folk music festival and, on a gorgeous sunny day, we couldn't have asked for more. Friendly volunteers, gorgeous green open area, talented musicians throughout the 2-day event, a handful of great vendors and food choices, and awesome kid's crafts. It's family and dog-friendly. It's not crowded nor overpriced. I look forward to visiting next year!

The Columbus Folk Music Society partners with Metro Parks to present a 3 day hootenany of banjo pickin', old time country songs and folksy jam sessions. Friday night kicks the event off with a potluck dinner and the "world's worst song' contest. If you've got a really bad song in ya, you could possibly win a major award! Saturday and Sunday brings workshops, concerts and gospel sings. If you are a fan of bluegrass or folk music, I'd highly recommend checking out this festival for at least a day. It's a hippy-jam-fest-of-a-blast.

Its just not that big a deal…read more I'm going with 2 stars (per Yelp - I'v experienced better). I really have experienced better festivals. This event is supposed to be a community festival that showcases local business, but in the past several years the event just keeps getting more and more blah. There seems to be lots of canopies with vendors under them but its mostly roofing, siding, gutters, churches and other similar businesses. What I would like to see is more of the local businesses coming out to give back to the community by giving out coupons, samples etc. Maybe somebody who plans these events or is involved with these events will see this review and bring this to the right persons attention. There are bounce houses in the middle that are roped off and are only allowed by people with wrist bands. The bands cost $20, what?!? that's terrible. This event is not worth going to and I would recommend spending your time doing something else that is more fun. If I hear that the Festival has changed more to what a community festival should be then I will update my review.

This year was the 16th annual Powell Festival and it was the best I have been to in Ohio yet!…read moreIts right downtown Powell by the kids splash pad which is really nice and perfect for a hot summer day. They had so much to do for kids and adults alike. Foodwise I was a bit dissapointed but had eaten lunch before coming, so that was not a problem. The reason this gets 5 stars from me is that everything (expect for said food) was FREE! We actually left with 3 huge tote bags (also free) PACKED with free goodies! The festival is about local vendors/stores/shops/retailers promoting their businesses. So free toothbrushes/toothpastes from the dentists, free sunglasses from the optical stores, free snacks drinks and coupons from Giant Eagle, free facepainting, free videogame truck for the kids, free ice cream sundaes and coupons for free froyo from Cherry Berry, it went on and on, we spent hours just chatting with vendors and stocking up. Everyone was friendly and in good spirits, it was a great day and a festival I'll be back to for sure!

I went to one of those games at Nationwide Arena and this is my story. I was able to get a level 200 ticket from a third party and with a $20 coupon the total cost was $45. See my photo for the view from my seat. There are several parking garages around the arena. The farther the garage is away from the arena the higher the cost. Figure $10 to $25 to park, I lucked out at $10 that night and it was only a 5 minute walk. There is street parking but you have to be really lucky. Uber drivers are not permitted near the arena so you will end up walking anyway Hockey has 3 periods with an intermission between periods 1 & 2, and 2 & 3. Nationwide arena has numerous and diversified concession stands. They have concessions that cater to dietary choices. Get out is is also easy. Streets are blocked off to create one way traffic. Traffic is flowing out is directed one way so that cars are not cutting lanes. I'm still proud to be a member of the Fifth line.

Once my ears adjusted, it was just fine, I guess I'm just so used to speakers and sounds from all sides that it took me by surprise. The sound was easily loud enough without a sound system. The performers were all fantastic. I found myself wishing the lead was a little more rakish looking, but all in all it was a good solid performance. Sets were nice, all the voices were nice...and, of course, the Opera itself was charming and well written. The Conductor was hilarious, playing into the overall silliness of the Opera with aplomb. The orchestra was also very good, performed very well. A very positive experience for me, loved it!

Outside you'll see lots of young, and not so young, artists painting on huge canvases lined up to look like one big Wall. They have food trucks, beer trucks and alcohol sales. OYO was doing good business. And with the DJ spinning tunes ...... It was picture perfect. If you want more, you can stroll through the artist warehouse and visit individual studios. This is a great time to shop and talk to interesting folks. Also, the junior scrawl is located here. Kids are having a blast. In fact, there were lots of kids. Some with parents and some without. Good for all age groups. It's a two day free event. They do accept donations. IDs are required for wristband if planning to drink alcohol. Speaking of drinking, the festival is directly behind Strongwater restaurant & bar. Land Grant brewery and Rehab bar are two other popular drinking spots across the street. All good reasons to stay awhile and plan to come back again to next year's festival.
