I was disappointed in my room at Staycity. This is an odd hotel--I assume the rooms are…read moreindividually owned and rented out, like a timeshare condo, since some of the photos posted here look NOTHING like our room. If I were a college student looking for a cheap place to stay with a bunch of my friends near Temple Bar, this probably would be a great hotel. But, I'm almost 60 and needed temporary lodging for a month, and this did not suit my needs well. Our room had two small bedrooms (one queen bed and one with two twins), and the cozy main room had two fold-out sofas. The beds were good and the bathroom was nicely updated, but the furniture in the main room was substandard. The two "sofas" were in poor condition (ripped) and started as poorly-constructed dorm-room furniture when new (perhaps a decade ago). They were terribly uncomfortable, with bars that poked through the worn pads. It is clear these were much more intended to be fold-out beds than sofas, and they were so awkward that we were almost unable to use them during our stay. Meanwhile, the large dining room table was missing a pad under one foot, so it would wobble dangerously (which we learned the hard way with a glass of water on the top). I had to adjust the pads to prevent further accidents. There were other minor annoyances. If you need to cool down the unit, it can be quite loud with street noise and a bar across the street. (I learned a few football chants thanks to late-night parties.) The elevator needed some repair, with broken call buttons on a couple of floors. And our room had an odd closet that looked like someone forgot to finish the job of constructing it. The one positive thing here was the staff. The cleaning crew was professional, and most of the desk staff was very helpful, particularly the day crew. (The staff here lifted what would've been a two-star review to three stars.) I cannot understand how some of the rooms could be so nice (according to photos) and others so very, very different. I expect a bit more consistency in a hotel, so I would not be encouraged to stay in another Staycity property.

Location, Location, Location!!! We stayed at StayCity…read moreApartments Millennium Walk in Dublin during our last trip to Ireland two years ago. We used it as a home base in Dublin and traveled throughout Ireland, day trips by train. It was tricky to find since no cars are allowed on the cobbled roads but the location is perfect! Close to stores (Tesco), Jervis Shopping Center, loads of restaurants and bars and a wonderful cafe is actually in the storefront of the building. Temple Bar and Ha'Penny Bridge are both short walks away. The DART (Dublin electric train) is literally at the end of the street and stops every 15 minutes. You're truly in the heart of Dublin and don't need a car. The location is perfection!! We rented a large 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment, which was very nice. It had a washer/dryer combo which was great so we didn't have to over pack. This location has no staff on site, it's a self stay but we didn't need anything and you can reach someone by phone if needed. The apartment was very clean, in safe location and close to everything. The extra space was great, everyone had there own room. The only draw back is on the weekends it can get loud late at night. You have lots of loud people making their way back from the bars late at night but it normally doesn't last long. I would totally recommend StayCity - they have several different locations in Dublin, as well as other cities in Europe!!

However, the wifi available was *terrible*, presumably because it's being shared with every apartment in the building. There is also a lot of noise coming from the bars and restaurants surrounding the apartment, so if you're looking for somewhere quiet I would definitely advise you look elsewhere..

We collected our keys from their reception office located at 5 Crow Street - everyone staying needed to present photographic ID. Then walked a short distance, of approximately 5 minutes, to the apartment accompanied by 2 staff members. Good points: *Quick checkin & checkout. *Our apartment was ready for checkin earlier than expected. *Friendly, helpful staff. *Spacious 3 bedroom apartment which was clean & tidy. *Central location. *Fully equipped kitchen with all utensils. *Coffee, biscuits & tea in kitchen. *Generous supply of bottled drinking water (though of course tap water in Dublin is safe to drink). *Fresh, clean bed linen & towels. *Bathrooms x 2. *Plentiful, complimentary toiletries. *TV in a comfortable, spacious living room. Bad points: *Apartment located up 3 large flights of stairs & unfortunately there was no lift (difficult when you have luggage). *Loud, irritating noise all night in one bedroom, sounded like a loud boiler constantly working next door (though other 2 bedrooms were fine). *Couldn't open doors leading to balcony.

Small lobby area that will be crowded with people waiting to check in as they refuse to let people in before 4pm but gets worse, the actual apartments are not at same location as reception. After 4pm you'll sit around and wait the ONE "check in agent" to show up and walk you to the actual location. When you book it says 5 crow street NOT TRUE!! The building is NOT there not even down the block!! It was a 10, 15min walk (its Dublin so obviously was raining) and we arrived soaked to this mysterious building. Oh, and NO ELEVATORS either, it was a 4th floor walkup. Now, seriously? BTW, its non refundable that's how they get you! We complained about location fake advertising and their answer? "Send us an email & we'll forward to management." Yeah thats Ridiculous! What a great customer service LOL Furniture is old and dirty, see picture of stained chairs, GROSS!!! Now, lets talk about waste of time! Rooms need renovations all around... bottom line stay away

Plus, Simon has been extra prompt with his replies/responses and Oliver on his team, was waiting for me upon my arrival to greet me and answer any question I had about the apartment and about my time in/around Dublin! I have traveled around the world---staying in serviced apartments, Abode in Dublin is the best in the city!

The apartment itself was nice and clean when we arrived. We had no issue with the apartment itself other than the unusually small closet space, which was unusual with our experience in Dublin apartments (we've rented 4 apartments in Dublin over the years). Price - we paid 119 euros/night for the apartment. This price is very much overpriced for similarly equipped corporate apartments around Dublin including bigger apartments across the street in an equally nice building renting for 90 euros/night. Customer service - our issue with customer service began with our arrival. Our correct arrival time was not communicated to the individual checking us in who showed up 30 minutes late with no apology offered. Multiple emails and phone calls went unanswered and unreturned regarding renting the property, check in, a broken faucet, and moving to another apartment within Abode's properties. We requested one task through the concierge service when we were out of the apartment and it was not done (even though they said it had been) and, again, no apology or solution was offered. In general, it was extraordinarily difficult to get in contact with someone who had any power to do anything and even when contact was made they made little effort to help us out. The faucet in the kitchen broke about 4 weeks into the rental and while a plumber was called them same day the faucet went unfixed for a month. Overall the customer service was terrible and unprofessional especially for an overpriced apartment in city center Dublin.
