I should have done more research and could have easily avoided this big expensive mistake. I hope this review helps someone learn from my experience. My project was delayed by many months as a result. Any slight saving through Fairco's slightly cheaper prices was more than offset set by months of extra rent, flimsy quality windows and the time wasted on constant follow-ups. Sales: excellent rep. Turned up on time and was polite - this is the secret to their business model (great rep who is highly motivated). Survey: I paid Fairco's engineers to measure the job. When some of the windows eventually arrived (and 3 were the wrong size), I was asked by Fairco "is that your signature on the survey?". The implication being that it was my responsibility learn how to check the engineer's hundreds of measurements and then check they were actually made correctly. In the end, I paid my builder €1,500 to alter the walls to accommodate the 2 incorrect smaller windows. I then waited 3 months for Fairco to remake the 3rd incorrect window. Installation: it was a building site, so a very easy install. One window was very difficult to open, one difficult to close. The crittal panel door lock was not working correctly and the "pulls" to open the kitchen and bathroom windows were left for me to screw to the windows. Aftersales: Fairco has been on site around 6 times and in fairness, they have fixed all but one issue; which can't be fixed. The materials used in the sash windows are not sufficiently robust to support the weight of the glass they're attempting to hold up. As a result, the bottom of the sash is bowing...so who knows how long they will last? In summary. As usual, mam was right....you get what you pay for. :-( Avoid at all costs.

They refused to even send anyone until we had chosen the type and colour. Now, the whole reason we wanted a quote was that we could decide on type based on the quote. There are plenty of companies -Senator- for example that came within 24 hours of our request for a quote. We are kicking off our deep retrofit project so who needs a ignorant company unwilling to quote! As in Pretty Woman....big mistakes lads. Huge So for any competent level of customer service. Go to any other window company.

Pulling out a bathroom and putting a whole new one in is expensive and pretty messy. What if you could have the same effect but for waaaay less hassle and money? Chris comes in, re-grouts the place and does whatever is necessary 'cosmetically' so it actually looks brand new shampoo. I was moving out of my rented place at the weekend and had to get a sink replaced (the tap fell off and cracked the bowl in a bizarre poltergeist-like move). Chris was in and out in a couple of hours, after replacing the sink, and re-grouting the area all around it. It looked absolutely perfect, and is a testament to his work style - he seems to be a perfectionist and will go above and beyond to make sure the place is gleaming before he leaves. He hit on a few plumbing problems when he was in the middle of the job that he also took care of, swiftly and easily. What I liked most about him though was that he was honest about the work that needed to be done, not pushy at all, and definitely great value - not out to rip anyone off. All in all a brilliant idea and service. Just wish I'd thought of it! Back to the drawing board so...!
