This toaster lasted about 1.5 years with normal to little use. The warrantee is 1 year.
I emailed the company and they told me there was nothing I could do and referred me to the U.S. distributor and technician. The technician in the U.S. told me that this 2010 model was designed as a "non-repairable unit." Wow, now that is an intelligent idea.
Dualit markets itself as focusing on "high quality and well-engineered products" with a "hard-won reputation among chefs."
I emailed Dualit and asked for some sort of restitution to make it right and they said "sometimes things do go wrong and it is unfortunate that you have had to be one of the people to have had an issue. Sorry." No replacement toaster, not even a little coupon.
Now I am sitting here with this toaster that will likely go into a landfill.
These are beautiful appliances no doubt. But why would I want to support a company that makes these kinds of choices? read more
