It seems whichever salon you go to, the welcome is consistently great and always effortless - never staged. I go to Rush in Redhill now, as my stylist 'Simon' who originally worked at the Croydon salon opened and now manages Rush in Redhill. Everyone there maintains a high standard when it comes down to customer care and tlc....hence why I'd NEVER ever consider going anywhere else. Also not forgetting the amazing style and cut by Simon. This guy knows his stuff!! Can't fault Rush in Redhill! Their stylists are busy and in demand for only one reason...because they know what their customers wants and how to make you feel great.

I noticed that they use Tigi products which are fab especially the shine spray-gorgeous smell. They sell ghds and fudge products-nice. Wella is another range but not so keen. The booking was easy, I got a Saturday afternoon appointment which is always a bonus, parking availability is good and I wasn't kept too long waiting before I was seen. The consultation seemed to be fine, but their stylist was dismissive of my thoughts and said that she would not cut it the way I asked as it would not turn out right. The lady washing my hair was quite rough and her attention was obviously elsewhere as the water when from cold to hot and back to cold again. My main concern was that although the stylist although chatty she came across as arrogant and did what she wanted to my hair and when it was finished, I was pretty disappointed. It was the opposite of what I had described, dull really ageing. I came out looking older than when I went in. Im sure that she isn't really arrogant, but confident in her abilities, but when my thoughts were dismissed it just looked I should be quiet and just let her get on with it. I should have probably challenged it there and then but I just wanted to get out and get home, I just wanted to cry and to see what I could salvage by styling it myself. I did have to visit another salon to have it re-cut. My overall impression is one of real disappointment, obviously there are many people who love this place, but my experience did not match up. I have to be honest and give my opinion and hopefully it is taken in the spirit in which it is meant.

The salon is bright and modern, and the stylists young and bubbly. If you're a regular though, you may find you experience the skills of a different stylist every visit, as it's every much a teaching method for the junior staff members, and they soon move on to pastures new. However, for around £15 you can leave the salon looking like you've just stepped out of the pages of a fashion mag, with the latest blend of fashion colours or trendy cut. A word of warning though: appointments on Model Nights are in high demand, so expect to have to wait in excess of 2 months before your visit! Or, as I've experienced, be prepared for a cancellation call from the salon on the morning of your appointment, because your stylist has gone on holiday!
