WORST SALON ON EARTH. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES, WASTE OF MONEY, TREAT CLIENTS LIKE DIRT, PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS COMPARED TO OTHER SALONS THAT ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING.
Looking at the color Shabana recommended on the color chart , I asked her what the end result color would be on my hair. She said she had no idea what the end result color would be (yet she recommended that color...). In the end my hair looked black after paying £110 (which is a lot for me), despite me asking her during the consult to please make sure my hair would be brown and not black. The next day I went in for a correction, she yelled at me "Why didn't you show me the color you wanted!!" even though I had on the chart, & MADE ME CRY in front of the other clients. Shabana doesn't know what she's doing, has to ask the owner every time, & doesn't realize that clients can see her in the mirrors when she's throwing her arms up in the air complaining about them behind their backs & basically about having to do her job. Even if you just sit there quietly from start to finish.
After washing the color out, she went to the owner. I don't know what she said, but he came over very angry at me, & told me quite loudly so that the 2 men sitting next to me waiting to have their hair done & the lady behind me, could hear him shout, "LISTEN MADAM, SHABANA IS NOT GOING TO PUT LIGHTENING OIL ON YOUR HAIR, WE DON'T HAVE 2 OR 3 HOURS TO SPEND ON YOUR HAIR!!". When I asked calmly, why I had been told during my consult that it would be done & now when I am sitting with wet hair am I just being told now only, that they won't do it, the owner shouted at me again saying, "LISTEN I AM THE OWNER AND WE DON'T WANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU HERE!!".
I was so completely shocked & humiliated. I explained calmly that I am not a hair expert, I don't know how long things take because it didn't take that long previously, that if they had said this to me during the consult at the very beginning before they got started, I could have asked for a lighter color or gladly come back another day when they had time, & that he didn't have to speak to me like that & say that they don't want people like me at their salon (I am Indian in race, and originally from South Africa). The owner said in reply, "I KNOW YOUR TYPE AND THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU ARE, I HAVE TO TALK TO YOU LIKE THAT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND". It was traumatizing & I was shaking in tears. For a man to belittle me, talk down to a client, humiliate, intimidate & break me down to tears in front of everyone like that for no good reason, is disgusting.
In tears & my hair still wet, I decided to leave. I told the owner very politely & softly to reassure him, "please don't worry, I won't be coming back to the salon again". He then said, that he "had to" talk to me like that & that that is how he talks to people & even if it was his dad, he would talk to him like that too. The point is, I am not the owner's dad. I am a paying client who gives a lot of her hard earned money for their services, any woman would want to leave a salon feeling good about herself & about her time & money spent at the salon, not leaving in tears completely humiliated, shaken up & traumatized at being bullied in public. Shabana told me it would cost me £110 to have the lightning oil & a haircut. After being treated like a dog, I was certainly not going to stay & have this man nor anyone else at that salon do anything to my hair & then pay this owner any more of my hard earned money after he treated me so horribly & intimidated me so badly. I just felt sick & wanted to leave. To pay so much money to Headmasters salon, only to have your hair ruined, & to be intimidated by the owner & shouted at is an outrage.
Prior to this, I had an important photoshoot & went to Shabana on the day of the shoot for her to curl my hair. I specifically stressed to her that I needed the curls to stay for most of the day for the shoot. Altogether that week I spent £200 on having my hair done at this salon (she first lightened my hair with bleach, but didn't tell me it would make my hair brittle to the point where I couldn't comb it, nor did she advise me to have a treatment, so the next day I had to pay more for a treatment & another wash & blowdry, then went to her on the day of the shoot to curl my hair = £200). I even asked her to put extra hairspray & do anything to make sure my curls would stay. Within 15 minutes of leaving the salon, the curls were gone. When I told her this 4 weeks later, she only then said, "Oh, we should have washed your hair, that would have made the curls stay". I was completely shocked that she hadn't said anything like that on the day of the shoot. I've had most of their treatments, which do nothing for my hair (others have said the same), not sure they use genuine products in tubes/containers. Other salons in the area said they have many women coming from Headmasters salon with similar horror stories trying to find help.
