It was difficult thinking about a new barber but a friend of ours went there when he was on vacation with us and i decided to make an appointment, Now, several years later, I look back on the decision to do this and I totally satisfied. Chris bought the business from the Keith, who was a riot, and has improved the facility continuously and is the only person I would have cut my hair. Smart, interesting, a great family man and he is always pleasant and conversant on many subjects. I like his customers and I like being part of the ambience that Chris has made better than when I first made an appointment.

We even showed pictures of their normal cut. $28 each for 10 and 13 year old kids is insane and of course the iPad asks for a tip while the person stands there watching so you feel obligated to tip. Evidently every barbershop in Davenport closes at 5PM aside from Sport Clips…read more An empty feeling expands through your gut as you cross the threshold at 4760 Elmore Ave. Something is askew in the building; a sagging, heavy twist of reality settles on all who enter, changing them. Hurting them. Two aging stylists leer at you as they circle their captive prey. They do not greet you. A nightmarish separation between you and the outside world ripples from the fluorescent lights. Air Conditioning keeps the room at ideal room temperature yet provides no comfort. Metal folding chairs jammed together squish you against the wall, forced to watch WNBA on ESPN2 as your life force is slowly sucked away. Three more men enter in the hour that you sit, waiting, the time ticking by. Tick, tick, tick, tick... and you watch each man as he replaces the one before him in a laborious, slogging procession. All while you sit. A fourth man enters, greets the witches, and is quickly rebuffed, "We're open tomorrow from 10-5. Ehhh...." she croaks, "and we don't take appointments!" Finally my ass touches spinning chair. My time has come. Here's the thing I've been keeping from you since we began -- I'm bald. All I needed was a quick shave because I was feeling lazy. In just 2 hours, and a cool $50 later, I got it! Don't come here if you value time! Or money! Or joy!

I recently visited the QC from Orange County California. My cousin's daughter works at Salon Static…read moreso I thought I would give it a try while I was vacationing. I have naturally red hair that unfortunately is graying and I must have it dyed. I have spent tons of money at several very expensive salons in Orange County and Los Angeles trying to find someone to do my color so I didn't look like a clown. Red is very difficult to get right and it always ends up too bright or too dark and it fades within a week. Jennifer at Salon Static cut and colored my hair and it is the best color I have ever had! It's a beautiful red that looks natural and after two weeks, the color has not faded. Jennifer also dyed my eyebrows to match my hair and then waxed them. They look great! Since I was on vacation, I also got a facial and a peel which was wonderful. The esthetician even showed me how to get rid of my tension headache through massage. The atmosphere at Salon Static is relaxing and everyone who works there is professional, personal, and a lot of fun. I love the color of my hair so much I am tempted to fly to the QC every 6 weeks to get it colored. Someone who does color that well, especially red, is hard to find. I highly recommend this salon.
