Specifically, we brought in Nailed It Contracting to replace and paint the kitchen ceiling (after we had taken down the nasty '80s-era drop ceiling that was concealing old water stains and crumbling plaster), repair and paint the walls (which were full of damage and several layers of wallpaper), demo old built-in cabinets and lay tile on the floor. He satisfied each of these tasks. Additionally, we were impressed that: * Sam provided a written quote estimate that laid out all of the costs, * He held to this quote when he had to change gears on part of the plan, after what he thought would work did not, * He was flexible when we added a few things to scope of work, providing a change order and updated price for us to sign so that everything is documented, * He showed up when he said he would and generally finished the job during the quoted time period. Luke met us at the house in December of 2023 and we walked the property with a punchlist. He had the foresight to bring along his interior designer, Amy, who has proved to be amazing! He bid the project and reworked the scope in two weeks. The budget was approved and work began on February 14th. The project included carpet removal, new wood and tile flooring, rewiring of the entire 2800 sq foot basement, design-build basement kitchen-office and workout room, new master bathroom, three additional new bathrooms, new laundry room, addition of a pantry, etc. Needless to say the scope of this project would take most contractors over a year or longer to complete. Luke also managed lawn service, pool care, a mailbox replacement, furniture delivery, new garage door installation, foundation work and internet install. Recently, we found Luke's Repairs and Remodeling to address the following issues: all interior and exterior doors were replaced and reframed, all pocket doors were replaced with new hardware which required removing and replacing the drywall. We also needed the entire house painted, a closest built around our mechanicals and additional shelving erected in the laundry area, as well as some electrical work. Luke came out, listened to everything we had to say and gave excellent input for the project. He gave us an estimate and stayed within the estimate for the entire job. The condition of the prior stain was really bad - highly weathered and uneven. Plus a dog had scratch parts of the door and prior painters splattered stain on the fixtures and frame. Kelly, the painter, spent a several days sanding to remove imperfections, meticulously staining, and restoring the door. He took great care to make sure the work area was clean, hardware installed properly, and that we were happy with the final job. All in all, it was a great job at a reasonable price
