They are real people who truly want the best for the students. And while winning isn't everything, the number of trophies and championships that the studio has earned is a great indication of the level of training provided. First off, did anyone hear Lenny say these things? Is there a recording of him saying this anywhere? One thing I know about the local demographic circles is that if 1 or 2 people say something the whole town joins in with them. Secondly, I attended here for a few years but continued to take classes elsewhere because it's not for everyone, including myself. I was not diagnosed with a disability but I did have chronic back problems and anxiety from a young age which made the the routines difficult for me to perform and memorize. I do however credit attending David De Marie for preparing me for my relatively successful career in fashion and media that I went on to in my adult life. I recommend at least trying this studio.

These people helped me become a better person and a better dancer, they taught me some of my very first skills like a backbend and a roundoff. I absolutely love this place. I practically grew up here. The Dance Workshop is basically my second home, and I love it. I will continue dancing here until I can't anymore. The recitals and classes are so much fun and everyone there is so understanding and fun. It is an amazing place with amazing people and amazing talent. I was still working in…read moreSept. when dancing started so my husband took the kids (My grandson and granddaughter) They would forget their shoes so Miss Joann told my husband to leave the shoes there then he would not have to worry about forgetting them so he did.The kids said they lost Julians and he was wearing girl shoes so I started looking again at the consignment stores for boy tap shoes (hard to find) finally found some in tan( I had black at the beginning of dance) and Morgan said hers were tight also so I had a pair from her sister and told her to bring the tight pair home I would take them to the consignment store. Well when i picked up the kids they said she wouldn't give them Morgans shoes she said the shoes were hers that they never had shoes.I was so mad who would send kids to dancing with no shoes ( NOT ME ).Well she would not even listen she just kept saying they were her shoes and they had shoes so why did i want them anyway...to take them back to the consignment store to sell and if she found Julian's black would be better than tan!! We only told a few people we did this, so many people at our wedding were absolutely shocked to see us doing a choreographed dance together! Lilia is so patient, kind and funny. We didn't want our lessons to end with her and she felt like a friend by the end of our time we got to spend with her! Fast forward to now, my eldest has found her passion for hiphop and is taking 3 hiphop classes; and my now kindergartener is loving the combo and hiphop classes as well. Im sure once my youngest is old enough she too will join the sherry martin crew. Honestly, they have favorites. And they don't base those favorites on skill or talent. This is…read moreessentially a recreational studio and not a competition studio. There is nothing wrong with that if that is what you want. BUT... they have so many problems that you'd think they were a mean competition studio. But even competition studios are more transparent than the mystery BS you put up with here. It is a mystery. I fought with them for years over the proper placement for mine. The lack of compassion. The cavalier way they treat their business relationships. The hurtful things the owners say in front of the kids when explaining themselves. The excuses for their poor decisions. Their solution to problems is ... you can go to another studio. They passively kick you out by making it an unhappy place for your child if they don't like you. I can't tell you how many times I have had a mom tell me that after they've paid all fees, lessons, and costumes charges, that suddenly their child has missed too many lessons and can't do a recital. But guess what? They have no stated attendance policy. Which is also ironic since they had several classes that didn't have completed choreography until the week before the recital. When you ask them to justify their placements... they say "trust our professional judgment". (i.e. don't question us.) . When you ask...what does my child need to work on to advance... they give you an answer, and then when your child achieves the goal, the reason they aren't moving up is a new and different reason. And those reasons are often refuted by other students who are in those upper classes with those very issues. One mom told me that they talk in circles saying that X is a reason why a child cannot take a certain level and yet X is great because it really supports successful dance. In the past year, I have seen several families cut back their classes or leave the studio altogether for either another studio or quit dance, because they destroy the love for dance. They are sinking their own ship over there.
