Came for a wedding and also stayed 3 nights. Beautiful Scottish castle located about 40 min from Aberdeen airport. Best to grab a taxi from the airport to take you here. Drivers know that it is a common event space so they know how to get there, as it's kinda out there. Wedding venue - stunning. The atmosphere, backdrop, and like everything honestly was really stunning. Historic chapel is about a 10-15 min walk down the road and was a beautiful setting for an intimate wedding. Reception and other events were held in the castles common spaces and well executed by the castle team. Food, overall, was solid. There were some dishes that were much better than others, and only a couple dishes that were just okay. However, the team is very friendly and accomodating, and essentially advised us to treat the castle like out own home. Grounds also featured a few activities like scotch tasting and clay shooting, which were fun to partake in and unique to have available. Lodging venue - really nice venue overall for lodging. Castle is split into main building as well as east and west wings. There are countless bedrooms so you can definitely fit a bunch of people inside. Our room was west wing at the top. Very large with a comfortable bed and full closet to hang things up. We peaked at other rooms and they all varied - some were small, others medium. read more

A billion stars for Drumtochty. Everything about our wedding was a hundred times better than we expected it to be. The afternoon tea, the waitstaff, the food, the castle itself: they all blew us away. We had exactly one major issue and that's that the hot water went out the first night in the main castle, but we got it fixed in the morning and the wings still had hot water for everyone to use. Other than that, everything was absolutely perfectly executed and I'd recommend booking here to anyone who was looking. The team was top notch and everything was SO easy and smooth. None of our friends and family have had such a smooth experience with their weddings. Get married here. 1000/10. It's so amazing in person if you can't visit before booking just save the surprise for later. It's worth it. read more

My family and I attended a wedding at Drumtochty Castle and it felt like it was straight out of a fairytale. For the wedding and castle itself, I would give 5+ stars. However, staying at a guest at the Stables, I would give 2. Food was excellent! My favorite were the sausage links at breakfast, yum! Castle guests got breakfast served, while stable guests had to cook their own breakfast. Drinks were great and made with much attention to detail. The bartenders were also a great time! Staff was so attentive and kind. Really made us all feel at home. Site itself is breathtaking and rich in culture. Castle was very clean and kept up. Stocked with snacks, coffee, water, etc. The ballroom did not have great circulation and got very stuffy and hot quickly. Some of our party stayed in stable 3 and their room was nice. We stayed in 6, in which the amenities and appliances were painfully outdated in comparison. The toilet only flushed half of the time. Other toilets on site at the castle worked just fine. The windows did not have screens on them, so we had lots of bugs joining us during our stay. All in all, I think if I stayed off site or even had a different room, rating would be much higher. Really bummed that the living situation was a damper on the whole experience. read more

I am so privileged to have been a guest at this wildly memorable castle for a beautiful wedding. It took a while to get here because we lost the direction to this place but I have to admit that once we got there , we were overwhelmed with how beautiful it was and how breathtaking the place is. The wedding has not even started and we were already mesmerized and at awe. We got to stay near at castle, which had a living room and kitchen. for guests to do as they please. The plumbing was ancient but what would you expect from a castle; this was an extension of the castle but still felt just as wonderful. Lots of little rooms and great big place to just play pool and chat comfortably despite the vastness of the castle. If I could transplant a castle, maybe this would vie for that spot. They were very organized during the ceremony and reception and were treated wonderfully well. We had access to all the amenities including a pond nearby. It was a dream and a wedding fit for the bride and groom, who were treated like royalty. Who could ask for anything more? read more
