The process was ok as several messages needed to be exchanged in order to secure the place. We arrived at the office late morning as instructed to give her final payment and were greeted with a "You're early. Check in is at 3pm." We knew that and introduced ourselves. They seemed extremely busy and no time for basic instructions. We arrived at the cottage at 3pm and found the place (3 bedroom/2 full baths, full kitchen, big deck) in a great location, private with partial views of the Pemaquid lighthouse and ocean. WiFi (20 mbps), very small cable TV, landline telephone. AT&T not very good in this region. Bring your own sheets and towels. The cottage was not very clean. Left over toothpaste on the holder, sinks rinsed but not all that clean, tape on screens, holes in the furniture, floors neglected and a musty smell. Advertised as immaculate with new furnishings but that is far from accurate. Our stay was pleasant and we were comfortable. It was better than camping but expected more for $1800/week. Next year we'll look for a months rent in the area but need to find a tidier place. Maine Mid-Coast is amazing! Great restaurants and plenty of scenery to enjoy.

Our cottage was ROOKWOOD, and it was immaculate. There was enough parking, beautiful flowers, and plenty of room. The waterfront was spectacular! Before this rental, we stayed at Cindy's Cottage for 11 years. Again, the cottage was immaculate, and any minor concerns over the years were immediately addressed by Sheila. (example: the coffee maker was broken, we called and asked if we could replace it. Sheila said yes, and we were reimbursed.) My husband and I always rent from LDEWEY Chase, not just for the location of their rentals, which is extraordinary, but for the immediate and thoughtful service from Sheila!

Connie spent the time necessary with my wife/designer to understand the color scheme and help select a couple remnants that might work. Other shops were only interested in selling a much larger minimum quantity. There is a good reason for that of course, because once the shop cuts a piece they are stuck with the left over. The difference Mark and Connie made was willingness to take the time for a smaller order and cull through their remnents. We were lucky in that there was a really great peice available. It wasn't what we started looking for but that is where the time Connie put in to understand the color scheme paid off; the piece available works perfectly with the natural custom ash cabinets and the tile we selected. Mark and Connie communicated all throught the process. Of course everyone wants to be first in line. Mark and Connie kept to all of their appointments and didn't slip any dates. At the end, the install went without a hitch, and the vanity top came out fantastic. Not only are Mark and Connie a delight to interact and work with, we feel like we got top notch service and an excellant value. I couldn't recommend them any more strongly if you are in the market for stone surfaces.

The I presume owner greeted us and struck up a conversation and I had mentioned we basically were in town to try the new-ish soft serve ice cream food truck that has opened. She said we made a great decision. She had asked where we were from and some questions. Honestly she nailed it on the head for being so welcoming and friendly. It's that extra thing that will make you remember a place even more! This is a place that has a great variety of items that just about everyone could find something that appreciate or want. Plenty of beautiful pieces of art, home goods, and even some food/chocolates. Some particular favorites my wife and I enjoyed seeing were the moose painting, a beautiful coffee table with a painting of a boat. Also if you are in search of any type of handle for drawers or anything related this would be your local spot to check out. A kind of back room had about an endless amount of variety of handles available. While we did not buy anything this visit, I will remember this shop. An absolute wonderful example of customer service to make you feel welcome even if you are visiting from afar. Lots of beautiful pieces you could pick from to make your new speaking point for those visiting your house! Prices may be seen as high but the quality of the things we enjoyed seemed to be extremely good, so yet the prices while high did make sense. Check it out!
