Sullivan's is your generic Irish pub. It's what people expect when they think of an Irish pub, not…read morea real Irish pub. Come here for a drink and to watch a game but avoid the food. It's all pretty mediocre or even bad. Everything is dry. At best, adding tons of sauce can save the dish but that shouldn't be needed. Stick to beers. They're cheap and easy without having to worry about flavor. Staff is actually excellent. They're super prompt and very friendly. I wish more bars had staff this great. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Sullivan's was a random visit on our walk around Buenos Aries trying to find a place for lunch. I…read moresaw that they had bangers and mash and I've been craving that for sooo long. We decided to grab a seat outside and drink some of the Sullivan's beer on tap. We ordered the tots, bangers and mash, nachos, and veggie perogies. The beer was really good and the food was also good for the most part but it was not authentic at all. I thought the bangers and mash would have brown gravy but it was more like salsa. The tots were fried mashed potatoes and though they were good, it wasn't what I thought it would be. It definitely left me still craving bangers and mash. The service was quick and friendly (probably the quickest service we had in Argentina). However, the food is not authentic at all and honestly should not be titled as an Irish restaurant. Though the food is good, it just left me a little bitter. I guess that's what I get for getting "Irish" food in South America.

A distinguished and very fine seafood restaurant in Palermo Hollywood…read more Expensive. That is your problem. Not theirs. Reservations only. Don't count on talking your way in at the door. This is true even if the restaurant will be 2/3 empty all night. This is because, more than any other restaurant I have encountered ... The house is absolutely positively averse to food waste. They want to know EXACTLY how many people are coming every night. They buy just enough food To serve exactly X dishes to customers - a number known in advance, And throw away exactly Y dishes - the dishes that customers did not order. They know exactly what X and Y will be every night. When my wife and I were the first people in the restaurant, And we both ordered Salmon with Miso - we found there was just one copy of that dish that would be served that night. My wife got the one copy. From both a business standpoint and the point of view of managing quality in the kitchen, this policy makes total sense. Other restaurants don't do this or don't have to do it ... But I see what Chipper is trying to accomplish. * * * Everything we had at Chipper was utterly superlative. My wife's one dish of Salmon with Miso was dramatically good. However, I got a house staple ... The pasta with seafood sauce. This is a dish for which they are known, So they make a lot of this one. The seafood pasta would easily justify the reputation of the establishment. It is an utterly satisfying wonderful dish. The only other place I have had seafood pasta this good Was in an Argentine diaspora restaurant in Leme in Rio de Janeiro. I have thought about that dish for years. Chipper's stands in fine company with that legendary Rio de Janeiro bowl of pasta. * * * Desserts may be wonderful at Chipper. But keep in mind, Chipper is a few doors away from Alchemy. Alchemy is one of the finest if not the finest ice cream shops in Buenos Aires. Never never never never never never turn down a chance to get ice cream at Alchemy. So we did the morally right thing. But for appetizers and main courses, You are not going to beat Chipper if you like fish. Yeah, you have to make administrative arrangements to get into the place. But you have to make administrative arrangements to fly to Buenos Aires in the first place. * * * Both sets of complex administrative arrangements are worth it.

Fried fish is good. Tasty. Their's is particularly good. A very nice batter, great consistency…read more Good fish! I'm not a chip connoiseur, don't care, have no opinion. They have a particularly nice clam chowder, very easy to recommend. In fact, i recommend it. Try sitting on the patio in winter with a bowl of their soup. So worth it. Only real downside i can see is the price; it's not a cheap place to eat. I think it's worth the price, but i'm accustomed to paying San Francisco prices.
