Not exactly a "small neighborhood pharmacy" as it happens to be part of the very large Loblaws that surrounds it! I'm not sure if it is actually owned independently of Loblaws (that may be the law, I'm not sure) but regardless, I'd recommend it, especially if you live or work close by.
One big plus, of course, is the fact it's in a Loblaws and you can take care of pretty much all of your other shopping needs at the same time, especially on your lunch break. The prices and dispensing fees are also pretty reasonable (at least compared to Shopper's Drug Mart). Prescriptions are usually filled pretty quickly as well.
However the main selling point (as it should be for any pharmacy) is the quality of the people behind the counter. The pharmacist (Rod) is friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Some people may not have questions and just want to get in and out as quickly as possible (which is fine) but it's always good to have someone you feel you can trust dispensing your meds. The assistants are also great as well.
So although I'm a little sad to leave my old, independent pharmacy behind (I don't live or work nearby anymore) I am glad to have found a solid replacement. Off the record, it was perfectly fine as well but I mainly only went there because two of the girls who worked there were quite cute...but let's just keep that between us Yelpers! read more
