Doug helped us on a small job in AG. He was very helpful and informative. Would use him again!

We have been using only Doug Durbe for several homes for different electrical things and hanging many fans. He is kind, patience and friendly and does quality work. He is almost like family to us and we keep referring him. Great person, honest and reliable. Ed and Gail read more

Doug is highly efficient in figuring out what's wrong, and how to fix it. So long as I live in the area, I'll be using Doug at Drube!

Doug is ridiculously skilled at what he does and he's fast and efficient. He also understands that many times he represents both the landlord and owner of a property, while needing to fix something for the tenant, who may or may not be at fault for whatever type of electrical issue happened. That's a tough place to be. I was floored by how well he fixed an issue at my residence and how quick he did the work. read more

We engaged Doug to install a new light fixture in the dining room and a ceiling fan in our home office. Scheduling a convenient time was easy, and we were quite pleased with his services. We very recently had a very different issue come up: we thought that one of our wall outlets was buzzing and I could not get it to stop or even figure out the problem. We were very concerned that it may be a fire hazard and thus needed immediate attention. I reached out to Doug late in the work day to see whether he thought that it was likely an urgent situation and if so whether he could recommend someone to help us on an emergency basis. Doug could not determine the problem over the telephone and said that he would come right over (again, this was after his regular work day was over). To my relief and also my embarrassment, the problem was not a buzzing outlet (which could be dangerous) but a nearby buzzing doorbell transformer. Doug quickly diagnosed the real source - a stuck doorbell button outside the front door. Problem solved. We greatly appreciated Doug's responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to help us. We will not hesitate to call on him again - hopefully for less stressful projects. read more

Doug is great. I've used him since the early 2000 and he is always reliable and you can't beat his prices. He actually likes small jobs !

They are always On time and do a great job every time I have used them. Fixing a dumb waiter in a shaft.

In October 2021, my wife and I bought a house in Grover Beach and have relied on Drube Electric for service on four different occasions. Doug consistently shows up on time, is polite, friendly, and addresses our electrical problems with honesty and at a fair price. I wholeheartedly recommend Drube Electric. read more

Doug is the kind of electrician we all wish for. He is kind and caring, and isn't just about trying to make a buck. When my breaker popped and I couldn't get it to work, he helped me fix it over the phone. Everyone else I contacted wanted $100 and for me to wait days for them to come. Doug takes the time to allow you to ask questions and learn. He's installed pendant lights, converted plug in lights to pendant lights, installed wemo switches, fixed non working switches, and is currently helping us install under cabinet lights, can lights and replace all old outlets with new outlets. He is also very fairly priced. I have worked with him twice now and absolutely recommend him if you are looking for a knowledgeable, honest electrician. read more

Great job on adding circuit for a sauna. We also had pendant tights added by Doug a few years back to dining room. Great to work with, everything works good. read more

FIVE STARS! WHAT A GREAT FIND! I thought I had a short in my bathroom ceiling fan lights, and I needed a new electrician, so my neighbor gave me the name of his electrician, Doug Drube. I called Doug three days ago, got his voicemail and left him a message telling him what I needed. He called me early the next day, we set a date for 11 this morning, he was at my door exactly at 11, he replaced the light switch and he was off in 15 minutes. My job was so small that I was afraid it was too small for him to bother and he assured me that no job is ever too small, he'll come out for whatever I need. He's a really friendly professional guy and I liked everything about him. Doug is now my "go to" electrician and I'll recommend him without hesitation to all my friends! read more

Doug doesn't really seem interested in getting business. He talks about being too busy and needing time off. Most self-employed professionals express appreciation for the business they get. This time around he said he would be back in two weeks because he had to order some items. When I called him five weeks later he didn't seem to remember me. He gave me an appointment and I called him the day before to confirm the appointment and to ensure he was planning to complete all three projects at that appointment. He didn't have my appointment on his calendar and he said he hadn't ordered one item. I knew it was time to say goodbye. read more

I first me Doug shortly after I bough my house in 1997. He's done several projects there over the years since then, mainly a complete remodel, near tear down of my house in 2009 - 2010. He's always struck me as very straight forward and honest. read more

I bought an older 6 plex in 2000 and Doug has helped with all my electrical upgrades. As a retired General Contractor, I can say that Doug is one of those rare individuals who works very fast and clean, is very knowledgeable, and prompt with his scheduling. I've worked with quite a few electricians in my life, Doug is one of the best. Gary Wells read more

I called Doug and from the very first conversation he told me he wasn't very interested in doing small jobs for individual businesses. I wanted him to install two outlets and do other electrical work in my office. Even after meeting with him for the first time, for the estimate, I felt like he was wasting his time with me. He never gave me a verbal or written estimate and told me when he was going to show up for the outlet work. When my office manager was 5 minutes late opening the office he left a message that I should call another electrician. I think I'll do just that. read more
