I walked out after my consult and physical as I was freaking out. They had no problem with that. I was all prepped and "numbed" and felt the Dr pulling on my testes and I freaked out and had to stop. I understood it was supposed to be painless and it wasn't. He was very courteous and understanding, and recommended I go under, but this method ain't for this guy. Not sure if I wasn't numbed enough but I sure felt something going on. The billing system is a little wonky with insurance as well but they got it straightened out I think. Five stars for the procedure itself. The consultation was professional, the procedure was performed efficiently by Dr. Colon. Recovery was smooth. This business' billing procedures are laughable. Payment of $875 was collected up front on the day of the procedure. No details were provided on how insurance claims would be processed for HSA reimbursement. After waiting 9-weeks and hearing nothing, I called my insurance provider (Regence) and was told that no claim had even been submitted yet. When I contacted Dr. Snip, they claimed that they had submitted it twice to some intermediary billing company and it had been rejected twice and was being submitted a third time. Regence ended up calling the Dr. Snip office directly and had to talk them through how to properly submit a patient claim! At 13-weeks, I finally received an insurance statement with official billed amounts that I could use to request HSA reimbursement for the $875 already collected. This group should be much more transparent in their initial disclosure that estimated fees are collected upfront and insurance claims/final billing can take 3-4 months to resolve. For those using HSA funds, I strongly recommend searching for your HSA debit card for the initial payment rather than putting this on a credit card as I naively did. read more

After a good conversation with him, I've changed my feelings about this place, and will be returning at a future date for the procedure. If you can, schedule on a Friday morning. This isn't necessary but it was nice being able to take it easy for a few days. Dr. White and the staff were all fantastic. The explanations were very thorough and I felt very comfortable in their hands. The no needle/scalpel method is amazing. Not that I can compare to the other method, but I felt only mild discomfort during the procedure and it was all said and done in about 15 minutes. The Dr. even called me the next day to check in and make sure everything was doing alright which I greatly appreciated. The pain/soreness I did experience after the anesthetic wore off was fairly mild and has almost completely subsided a week later. It was quick and aside from some mild discomfort (which you'd expect when someone is handling a sensitive area), it was as pleasant of an experience as you'd expect. I felt thoroughly informed going into my appointment since they did a great job asking questions on their site. Any other questions I had were answered on the spot when I had my consultation. The Dr. was extremely friendly and professional. We talked during the whole procedure and he would interrupt me just to let me know what he was doing since I couldn't feel a thing. I procrastinated for about 20 years. These guys made a awkward procedure comfortable. I traveled from 50 miles away after reading their reviews I was sold on their office for the procedure. Then the tough part was scheduling the visit, that makes it real. I should have had this done decades ago. There was soreness after the procedure, but totally bearable I'd put the experience on par with going to the dentist to have a cavity filled. Beware! My husband and I had a consult where they assured us that we would only pay a copay of $35 for the procedure. We chose to move forward which overall was a good experience. However after nearly 8 months we received a bill for over $800 claiming that the procedure was not covered by insurance. After calling to inquire, they said that they had sent the insurance claim in wrong and not to worry they would fix it and we would not have to pay anything. Fast forward almost 2 years, we receive another bill with an outstanding balance with a threat to be sent to collections. Their claim is that my husband's insurance was out of network. Again we were assured at consultation it was in network and would be fully covered. Make sure you double check before going through with the procedure we would have never scheduled the procedure if we were not given misleading information. read more

I sought out DrSnip for my vasectomy based on the glowing reviews, despite it being farther from where I live than other vasectomy clinics. First, I went to the website and completed the online form. Shortly thereafter (1-2 days), someone from the office contacted me via email (I elected to correspond via email on the online form) and we scheduled a date for my consultation/procedure that was about 3-4 weeks out. From the available dates/times, I selected Wednesday Afternoon for my appointment but probably should've gone with a Friday. On the day of, my partner took time off and drove me there. Upon arrival, I had to put on a mask and do a rapid COVID Test along with some paperwork, but it wasn't much to ask as an added protection from getting sick, given how busy the place was--Lots of patients were cycling through at the same time (similar to a dentist's office). When it was my turn, I went back to an examination room, talked to someone about my reasons for getting a vasectomy and was briefed on what to expect. Like other reviewers have said, the procedure is quick, with only the slight sensations of pressure and/or light pinching/tugging while the anesthetic doing its magic. I was also continuously asked about my level of discomfort and even requested some more anesthetic once I started to feel the pressure/discomfort rise a little more than usual. Then, it was done and I was on my way home after 45-60 min. Over the next few days, I didn't have any complications and opted not to use painkillers...The pain was like a soreness and/or bruise sensation, and exerting/moving my legs more made things uncomfortable, so I just slowed down my movement around the home/office. After a little over a week (9 days), any discomfort was completely gone. For the post-procedure test to confirm its success, I opted to have a lab kit ($50 extra) sent to me rather than physically go to a clinic. Two months later, the lab kit came, I did the test at home and sent in the sample. Another few days later and someone in the office called me to confirm that the test results showed no sperm, and I even got a letter from the lab in the mail as well. In terms of pricing, everything was laid out for me prior to my visit. Insurance covered a little over 40% and my out-of-pocket was close to $800. read more

If you need this type of service, I cannot recommend Dr. Snip enough. Incredible and responsive customer service from even just exploring the option right through to the operation itself. Every person I interacted with via email and phone leading up to the surgery was extremely helpful. On the day of the surgery, I was obviously still very anxious, but the nurses eased my concerns and Dr. White's cool, calm, confident demeanor really helped make the whole thing a relative non-event. Don't get me wrong, this is a major life decision to make that I considered for months ahead of time. I've never let anyone below my waist for anything besides pleasure or maybe a routine doctor's exam. It's true that the mental build up and anxiety ahead of the surgery day is far worse than anything that actually occurs in the doctor's office. Dr. White is the man!! I got it done two weeks ago and he made it smooth for me. I was light headed from anxiety and just being nervous. But the best part about it is that it didn't hurt at all. The hypospray feels like flicking your finger on your skin. Then 5 minutes later your done with a new Dr. Snip pocket knife. Some mild discomfort the next day but it was not bad at all. The procedure went just fine. The billing department is seriously lacking. My appointment was scheduled for Dec. 23 and I was informed I would be responsible for $550ish. They rescheduled (not me) due to weather and all of a sudden they say I am responsible for over $700. Not sure why them rescheduling caused such an increase in cost. I emailed asking why and never got a response. One month after the procedure and my insurance still never received a bill. I contacted the clinic and it appears they just forgot to send it in. The next day my insurance finally received the bill. My EOB showed that I was only responsible for $175 not the $700 I was made to pay. Talking to my insurance they say they have never seen billing done this way and are not sure why I was charged so much. Contacted the office again on March 11 and they say they will be sending me a check for the difference that I should not have paid. As of today April 11 I have still not seen any sign of my refund check. I have had many procedures in the past and never had such a problem with billing. I'm not so rich I just have $700 laying around I can afford to just give away. The procedure it's self went fine but I imagine going to any other clinic with a better billing department would cause less headaches. read more

We'd heard about "Dr. Snip" from a friend who told us how great he was. However, we're in Bellingham, so we were hesitant to pick someone "all the way" in Seattle. When a local physician decided my husband needed to see a specialist for the procedure, and we found out it was way more $ and weeks to get in to a local specialist, we called Dr Snip. Not only did Dr Snip get us in right away (our insurance was changing and we wanted to get it done before our deductible went up), had we met him from the get-go he would have been our first choice. Every single person in his office is helpful, knowledgeable and knows what they're doing. Not only is he really competitively priced, he's the most skilled and has so much experience. He even put my husband at ease, and, considering the procedure, that's saying a lot. After doing a consult with 2 other places, we also found out that there are plenty of other doctors still using the scalpel method. This will definitely increase your healing time over the method Dr Snip uses. My husband waited quite a while to get tested but his procedure came out "all clear". And the reason he needed to see a specialist was no problem at all for Dr. Snip, who had no trouble performing the vasectomy. The procedure was probably 10 minutes. I drove my husband back to Bellingham, and he took it easy that day and was back to his normal activity level in no time. We would both highly recommend Dr Snip (Wilson). He does only vasectomies and he knows what he's doing. His method is the easiest, most pain-free way to do it. When it comes to your balls, do them a favor, and pick this guy. read more

Had my "procedure" done at Dr Snip a few days ago. The whole experience from beginning to end was great. To start, they had reasonable availability and hours on he weekend, so I could book within a week of calling. They emailed over the forms, so I didn't have sit in the office doing them, which I appreciated. Would have been to fill out online, rather than PDF, but not bad. They checked my insurance and called me to advice on the (minor) co-pay, which I appreciated too. The consultation and brief were both friendly and professional. They walked through the details with my wife and me, confirmed alignment and consent, and we're very clear about needed post procedure restrictions. The procedure itself from Dr White was very fast. Dr White had great bedside manner, didn't surprise me at anytime, and was a master of his craft. No pain or discomfort to speak of. Offered to let my wife come watch, though she declined... Probably best. No pain after the event that a few Advil couldn't knock out. Also Dr White called to follow up, which was nice. So far so good! Dr. Chick Wilson is friendly and skilled! He has developed this no-needle procedure & it is amazing! They recommend having two appointments: one for the counseling, one for the procedure, but if you are 100% sure they can combine both into one visit. I accompanied my husband with our young child and it was not a problem. We didn't feel rushed & didn't wait for more than a few minutes. Follow up only requires drop off of 'samples'. I am a 50 years old and because of some health issues with my wife, she can no longer take the pill, and we don't like other type of protection. I am over 350 lbs. right now. While this created some more work for the Dr. Even with that, I can tell you that this easier than I ever expected. And if I had been of a more normal weight there would have been almost no discomfort at all. The no needle anesthetic was totally pain free. about the same as if you used your finger to flick a bug off your skin. After that because of my weight he had to inject some more anesthetic. but I didn't really feel that after the pain free needle free system. Dr. Wilson is both professional and has a nice chair side manner. There has been very little pain after the recovery.. much less than the ache after a good work out etc. I am a total needle phobe etc. All my concerns seemed silly after it was over. If you are sure you no longer want kids, this is the way to go. I can recommend as a place with a good staff and physician . read more

I highly recommend Dr. Charles Wilson, aka, Dr. Snip for a vasectomy. He's been performing/perfecting this procedure since 1978. Hell of a nice guy and really good staff as well. I can truly say my nerves got the best of it... but even they were assuaged by Doc Snip and his staff. They're really good at putting the patient (me) at ease. The procedure: quick & painless. I took the rest of the day off of work - a good "me" day but have had no ill effects from the procedure. In fact, it was hard to keep me at bay because I felt just fine... but they really caution against strenuous activity. Chick (his nickname that he introduced himself to me) said that he was going to call me the next day to see how I was doing. I'm super squeamish and hate this kind of stuff and admitted so when I arrived. Easier and less painful than getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist. The worst part of it, was dealing with my own anxiety before the procedure. Theres a residual anxiety pre op to post op with your own anxiety. Thats the worst part. I found myself giggling about how nervous I was after the procedure. Man! Such a burden lifted off my chest. First off, if you go here you're getting the best. Dr. Wilson originated the no-needle method -- can't get much better than that. I had Dr. White who was very friendly and informed you and asked for your consent every step of the way. I was in the office for all of 30 minutes -- first the assistant went through all of the paperwork and logistics of what was going to happen. Then, Dr. White came in and went over any questions and then we got to it. The numbing + procedure + clean up was around 10 minutes. The procedure was nearly painless, just a bit of sharpness for a couple seconds, and Dr. White checked-in with my comfort along the way. He explained what he was doing as he did it and even let me see what he was doing if I wanted to. Once it was done, he gave me a pocket knife, quickly reviewed what I can and can't do for the next week, and I was on my way. On the back end -- the staff was really friendly and helpful. Everything is easy -- you can upload forms to their portal and they check everything for you ahead of time. I have crappy insurance that didn't cover this, but they cap everything at $1000 and if you're one of the extremely rare cases where the vasectomy doesn't take, they'll do it again free of charge. After calling around before making this appointment, that was definitely not the case everywhere. All in all, it's hard to go wrong going here. read more

Went in for my consult and procedure same day! They checked on my insurance over the phone before I made my appointment and my insurance covered it 100% no co-pay at all! Gotta love that! Staff is very nice and friendly. The doctor knows his trade well. Procedure was very quick. I guess I was one of the more rare cases that numbing didn't work the first time and when he started I had a bit of pain, but he stopped right away and re-numbed me and and didn't feel a thing after that. He is very courteous and does an excellent job. The incision healed very quickly and so well that I can't even tell where the incision was made. No scar at all! From the time I first requested information to my post-procedure follow up, my experience at the Vasectomy Clinic was extremely positive. The procedure: I managed to work myself into a pretty impressive mental freak-out (if my girlfriend wasn't with me I might have run away), but it turned out to be no big deal. The staff does a great job of explaining everything and answering your questions, then the doctor comes in and does his thing - I had Dr. White, who was great. The procedure itself was quick and painless - a little bit of pressure, a few pinches, but nothing bad. Again, the worst part was my own overthinking. As long as I kept my focus on the office artwork and off the fact that someone was messing with my junk, everything was just fine. The recovery: Dr. White called to check in the following day, but there was nothing to report. There was some very mild discomfort at times, but not enough to even warrant taking an Advil. I followed the doctor's advice and took it very easy for a couple of days (doctor recommended couch/Netflix time is awesome!) and everything was fine. While there was no significant discomfort or decreased mobility, I could definitely tell that something had happened down there. It took about two weeks for that feeling to completely go away. The follow up: I did my final test last week to make sure the procedure was effective, and I am in the clear! Their testing schedule is really convenient and you get your results the same day, which was great. So, overall, it was a great experience. I am from Eastern Washington and started looking for more professional options than our local area provided as I had several friends with less than perfect results from their vasectomies (pain, hematoma, failed procedure, etc.) While sitting over beers at the house with a friend, somehow the subject came up and we asked "how do you find a vasectomy Dr.? Yelp?" Sure enough, I found Dr. Snip and made the appointment. Dr. Wilson and his staff were professional, courteous, and highly capable when it came time for my operation and in the days leading up to it. The facility was small and professional, with a local coffee shop just around the corner where my wife waited while the ten minute procedure was performed (after listening to the nurse tell me my hobbies were out of the picture for the coming week. Oops!) Total in and out time was 55 minutes. I had a hotel room reserved across town, and promptly headed there after the procedure to take it easy. I returned home the next day and had minimal pain, no swelling or discoloration, no problems of any kind. Just a little expected tenderness to the now defective boys.
