Poor experience. It took over eight weeks to get drone repaired and final repair cost in the end cost as much as a new unit. Costs went from $250 then $400 then $650. So I have been trying to track down a mavic pro for a trip that I am going on. I know the mavics have been on back order for certain stores so I was shopping around to see who would get it in time for the trip. I called drone nerds and spoke to one of their sales reps and they said they have been getting them on a daily basis. I wanted to make sure so I asked the very direct question, "if I place my order today when would I receive it?" To which his reply was, "we are getting them daily so you should receive it next week". With that reassurance I placed my order as soon as I got off the phone. It has been almost 3 weeks now and I have not received my order. I'm a few days away from leaving on my trip and now because I relied on the word of one of their employees I will likely not get the drone in time. I called several times and all I got was "I don't know" or transferred to a voicemail. I finally called again today and got placed on hold and hung up on. I called again and with no remorse was told "I don't know". I completely understand that they are under the mercy of DJI to deliver the product, but when you assure someone that the product will arrive by a certain date you need to be held accountable. After speaking with someone on the phone about my issue they gave me the address to a local place in wynwood. I called the location ahead of time and explained my issue. They stated to bring it over and went over the charges on the phone. When I arrived to their location after being in traffic for over an hour they later state that they can help me and I need to cal DJI directly because they don't deal with water damage after I explained my situation several times. I would suggest you not do business with Drone nurds of Fl. They charged me $440. Plus shipping to repair my drone, either received the new part broken or broke it then filled glued it and put in my drone, saying it was good to go. I could not calibrate it sensors because the broken part was out of place in the drone. When I call they said the fifteen day warranty was up and tough luck. Bad business read more

Poor customer service. Sent my drone in for a shell replacement. Received an email from them saying that they received my "Inspire 1" and it was over $500 to fix it... Inspire 1?? Besides that, they charge a $60 diagnostic fee, even though I knew what was wrong with it in the first place. Picked up the drone; camera was now suddenly faulty. Asked why they didn't tell me about it; they apparently didn't notice anything wrong with it at the time. They said they can't fix it; they only can replace it for $409. The shell seems to be fine; but they forgot to include the anti-drop pins -- Any customer would expect their drone to come back in the same condition; if not, better condition! After posting a 10 second video on a Facebook group page, I was able to have my camera diagnosed within 5 minutes. A group member called me on the phone and I was able to fix it myself within 10 minutes. I am not one for negative reviews, but the Drone Nerds have a lot of room for improvement. read more

I had crashed my DJI phantom three drone causing the camera and assembly to completely break and I thought it was going to be a major issue upon arriving at the drone nerds location I was met with Chris Who in my mind was a rockstar. I just got my Phantom 3 Professional back from Dronenerds out of Miami after a repair for stress cracks. The upper body had to be replaced only. Replace upper body shell $60.00 No Charge on upper body shell UPS Shipping $35.00 Tax $6.18 Total $101.18 Just did a test flight and we are back in the sky again. This is my third repair with Dronenerds and I would not take my business anywhere else. I have had a repair to a Phantom 2, my Phantom 3 Professional and my Phantom 4 for modifications for my Shark VR goggle setup. These guys are the best. But understand, they are in big demand and you may have to wait a few weeks for your repair, or you can pay additional fees for expedited service. You decide what your situation warrants. They put signature required I called seconds after they sent me shipping info and claimed they couldn't call fed ex and change it which is a lie. Then said they would call me back after they put a hub hold on it. No one ever called. I missed the delivery today. Now I'll never get it because they will only try and Re deliver and I actually have a job and fed ex won't release the package. These guys won't help you. Very upset. Spoke to them today (8/10/2022) on the phone first. This rep was very helpful and looked the the serial number of my drone and let me know the drone was still covered under the "care" package. He helped me to fill out an RA and I then drove like a bat out of hell (it's an hour away from my office) and soon as I get there... the guy in front looks at me like I'm crazy and then proceeds to tell me they don't do the warranty work there. Completely complimentary to what I was informed an hour ago. He didn't even bother asking the other guys who answered the phone why I was told to bring it in. Me taking 2 hours out of my business day for absolutely NOTHING is unacceptable. When I spoke to the original customer service representative made it clear that I was going to be coming in today. He assisted me with filling out the RMA before I came in so I could get in and out of there fast. Tried to order Mavic drone from this outfit but their fraud detection service put my order on hold. After a brief phone discussion, I was told that the order would be released in a few hours but was held up because the system flagged my email address and phone number as fraudulent. Followed-up by email a couple of times but never got a human response. Finally they just cancelled my order without further comment. Very sad to see a business scare their legit customers away in this way, but DJI has my order now on their books. I ordered two batteries for my drone on March 10, 2020. Now over two and a half months later, I still do not have my batteries, they cannot give me a date I will (saying they are not in stock), the product did not say it was not in stock when I purchased it, was given an expected date of arrival when I purchased (long past that), and then told I could purchase a different item at a much higher price to get sooner. NO WAY I am ever ordering from this company again. How do you advertise a product you do not even have and then have a customer pay a ridiculous shipping fee and give a ridiculous excuse when trying to check on your order?? Awful experience with dronenerds. Tried to buy a product from dronenerds but they don't accept to ship the product to somebody else than the owner of the card. Even if I confirmed by phone this, the guy told me he knows it's stupid (it is stupid, right!), but they can deliver the products only to the person who payed it. It's nerd! The payment was made, the order is cancelled, so, now I'm waiting to refund the money. I never met rules like this for an online store. I sent in my DJI Phantom 3 for repair one August 1 and I had to call them 6 times on a 2 and a half month period for them to even diagnose the drone. And after that it took them a couple hours to fix it and it was done. And yes they did fix my drone but cmon I just got my drone back this week after sending it in August. read more

On the website it has an option to create a repair ticket for drones other than DJI. When I came into the store with my LE-IDEA drone the employee said that they only work with DJI drones. I took out my drone just to show the employee that there were technical problems-there was nothing wrong with it mechanically and he wouldn't even look at it. It was really weird, that even as I held the drone my hands, asking him to look it, he wouldn't break eye contact with me. He never once looked at my drone. Very disappointed with the additional £89.32 GBP bill from Fed Ex I have had to pay as a result of ordering for UK delivery. Found these guys through the DJI website and went in person. I was greeted by Giovanni who immediately made me feel welcome. I told him I crashed my drone and needed it repaired. He immediately told me what the process was and explained everything clearly. I received an email later that day letting me know that the drone had been received and the time for repair. About a week later, I received another email with the total. I paid it online and went to pickup my drone the next day. At that point, I was again received warmly and picked up my drone. I had some questions about the repair and they were all answered to my satisfaction. I would use these guys again if I ever have another crash. DO NOT USE THESE CON ARTISTS FOR ANY TYPE OF REPAIR!!!!! I had a base model DJI Phantom. I crashed it and cracked the housing, forcing me to have it repaired. I sent it to Drone Nerds, who were happy to fix it before quoting me a price. I received a call four weeks after I sent the drone to them informing me the cost to REPAIR the drone would be $460. stating they needed to replace the housing. A QUOTE PRIOR TO REPAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE. I cannot justify spending $20 less than a BRAND NEW drone, to repair my base model housing. read more

Very poor customer service. Tried ordering drone for son that has different address than me and was expecting issues due to not being able to add a billing address when ordering. Sure enough, order gets cancelled. I tried again and after submitting order, I e-mailed them the situation with my billing address to a link provided from them for questions. I reached out to them next day and they had zero knowledge of the e-mail I had sent. The guy on the phone wouldn't help me (after being transferred numerous times) and said I had to e-mail someone else who handles the payments. E-mailed them and their response was BOTH orders were being processed and getting ready to ship! So then I had to call them back AGAIN to get both orders cancelled. I feel the first guy I spoke to should have been able to get the order updated correctly and SHOULD have offered free expedited shipping at that point. They have not delivered on the repair and will not return my latest request for information. It has now been going on 3 months. Drone Nerds is listed on DJI's site as a recommended repair company. I sent my drone to Drone Nerds in mid-July and received a written response from them saying work would begin in 14-18 business days. I waited 6 weeks and contacted them on August 29th. I had not heard from them. Rob Settle responded 5 days later and told me that my drone was "still in line" and "we are a few days behind but the next available technician will reach out to you." Again, a long period of time with no word from Drone Nerds. I reached out to them again today, September 30th. It has been 56 business days! They have not responded. I fear my drone is lost or has been used for parts or the company has shut down. There are over 1,000 reviews on their site. Every one of them is a 5-star review. I posted a review today that was less than 5 stars and they deleted it. I tried again and again. Each time my review is deleted. If you look on Yelp, Google, or the Better Business Bureau, you will find reviews similar to this one. BEWARE! read more

I had a great experience with these guys! I crashed my mavic pro and wasn't sure if the entire gimbal needed to be replaced. Thankfully they replaced the part that needed to be fixed for $30. Chad worked on my mavic and made sure everything was working perfectly, including the fan... even upgraded the software as I waited. Incompetent. Zero customer focus. Deplorable follow up. Phone skills non-existent when dealing with customers. I could go on and on. We have a fleet of drones used for our business. We have a myriad of day and night cameras we use. We fly a lot. Things happen and we need an expert partner that can help maintain, diagnose and repair our equipment in a timely manner. We had hoped this would be Drone Nerds. Ohhhh, have we been wrong. Our problem is that we keep giving them one more chance. This last time was the final straw...we dropped off a drone for an error with one of our motors. Two weeks after dropping it off, I called to find out that they hadn't even looked at it yet and that it could be "another we or so" according to the person that answered the phone. WHAT? Incredibly disappointed with my customer experience buying my drone at Drone Nerds in Wynwood. I was told by the salesman that the new Mavic 2 would not be coming out for at least another 3-4 months (which was the drone I was waiting for), so I decided to buy a new drone since I would need one later this month, and the Mavic 2 came out today (less than a week from when I purchased the drone at their store). I contacted several other DJI sellers and they made it clear that they knew the drone was coming out today, so the salesman either lied to me just to make the sale, or management did not inform them which I can most definitely say as a Business Owner myself is a bad business practice. I called the store to see if there was anything they could do, and the best they said they could do was offer a 70% refund (30% restocking fee), which is also annoying considering their website says its a 20% restocking fee. I received my Mavick Pro on December 4th, 2017 only to find out that the charging block was broken. Opened an RMA to return the product for a replacement on December 5th, 2017. After speaking with people from the return department, I got the label and shipped the defective product to the facility 22 days ago since I was told turn around time is 5-7 days. The drone arrived at the facility on December 20th, 2017... Since then I have asked multiple times for updates on the progress, to which I get no response. I had to call in to get some answers and was just briefly told that they would prioritize my exchange. Honestly from the call, it felt like my order was just taken as a chore for them and brushed off. It is January 2, 2017 and I still have not received any updates at all with my exchange since my call in. Honestly, I am VERY upset at how my order and concerns have been taken so lightly. I was so excited to start filming. I scheduled most of my vacation off in December thinking I could use the drone to film the places I was traveling to and important family events. I sacrificed a lot of my time and money throughout this whole process with DroneNerds and I still have not received my product I paid for... So for others wishing to purchase from DroneNerds, please be aware of their customer service. I have a phantom 4 Pro Plus. It has been giving me firmware update problems since new. I recently could not update my RC, so my camera did not work and I did not get a video feed from the AC. I dropped it off at drone nerds to see if they could update my firmware. I specifically told them not to mess with the aircraft. I got an email days later saying my camera was bad. They would sell me a new one for $800. I went to pick it up, very aggravated, because I specifically instructed them not to go into my aircraft, or remove the camera. I was 100% sure that was not the issue. It was a firmware issue. I took the drone home and powered it up, and what do you know, the camera was working. Why were they trying to sell me an $800 camera when mine was not broken? But because they took my camera off the drone, and apparently are completely incompetent, now my gimbal is not working correctly. It worked perfectly when I took the drone into drone nerds. They messed with it, now it's broken. The camera drifts all over the place. This is a drone that has never been crashed or even had a hard landing. They actually had the nerve to tell me to bring it back in so they could look at it. They claim they are certified to work on DJI drones but I have serious doubts. They are definitely not certified to do warranty work on DJI drones. Buyer beware. read more

Do not get anything done by Drone Nerds. They are a rip off. I crashed my DJI Phantom 3 Standard and the gimbal arm holding the camera broke off. DJI told me to send to the Drone Nerds, which is an authorized dealer and servicer, to get it repaired. I mailed it in and once it arrived I received an e-mail stating that it would take 14 business days just for them to look at what was wrong with the drone. So, about three weeks from the day they received it, I received an e-mail back. They told me my camera was broken (which I don't suspect to be true either) and that it would need to be replaced. They said the cost of the camera would be $429 (this didn't include actual labor). Well, the cost of a brand new DJI Phantom 3 Standard is $499. So, you're going to tell me that the camera is worth 86% of the price of one of the best drones in the market? Come on. The battery itself for one of these drones is $150. So, once again, avoid these con artists. As for my drone, I had to pay them a $60 dollar "service" charge and the cost of shipping it back. I am ordering a new Phantom 3 from DJI and I will just use my old one for parts when I receive it back in the mail. read more
