My most recent experience involved booking the Geek Squad to come and update my RING equipment. I tried 3 times via phone to book the Geek Squad. But it turns out you can't make an appointment by phone. You need to inconvenience yourself and go to the store! When you get there you'll probably find out you need an appointment to speak to someone in the store. While I waited in the store for an hour I called Best Buy to once again see if I could make an appointment with the Geek Squad to come to my home. This time I succeeded! But turns out not really. The day of my appointment I spoke with the technician who was running late - but at least he was on the way. Before we hung up he asked: What furniture am I measuring for? I said: Huh? He explained he was coming to measure for furniture. I said no, you're coming to upgrade my Ring system. He laughed and said he'd have no idea how to do that. I said I made an appointment with the Geek Squad. He set me straight: You have to go into the store to do that. So I cancelled the appointment. He said he'd call the office for me to see if they'd send Geek Squad. I've never heard from Best Buy ... until moments ago! Customer Service called. The young woman struggled with English. She was calling about my recent appointment. She asked for my email address. I told her I was not going to give her my email address and I had no plan to ever shop with Best Buy again. She clearly didn't understand. "Are you uncomfortable giving email address" she wanted to know. I explained I was uncomfortable with Best Buy and hung up. I won't return to Best Buy. Fortunately a neighbor told me about Task Rabbit. I found a terrific technician within 5 minutes. Three days later the fellow came and upgraded my Ring. He's coming back because I ordered a third camera and he'll install it. It's such a relief finding real customer service and easy access. Best Buy - I think your end times are very near.
