I had 2 different driving instructors for my G1 exit test and Shane (Driving Skills Academy) as my driving instructor for the G2 exit test. I can easily say that learning from Shane was the most informative and enjoyable experience by far. First, Shane is very good at teaching techniques in a step-by-step method. He has a method for forward parking, reverse parking, roadside stops, 3 point turns, lane changes, and the all too dreaded parallel parking. Basically everything you go through in both the G1 and G2 exit test. Second, (and where other instructors fail) Shane is able to teach you how to fix any mistakes you make in performing any of the above techniques. Let's keep it real: mistakes happen in tests. Therefore, knowing how to fix them is important. Parallel parking and too close/far from the curb? Reverse parking and too close to one of the cars? Learn with Shane and you'll learn how to fix each mistake just in case they happen during the test. Shane is also a very relaxing individual to learn from. I have never seen him get angry or stressed even if I made a significant mistake. His calm demeanor turns into confidence for you as you drive, which is really important when you're just starting out. If you make a mistake, he will always carefully explain why you made the mistake and how you can fix it for the next time. He genuinely cares that his students become safe drivers, not just that they pass the test. I am very happy with the time I spent with Driving Skills Academy. I was able to obtain my G license thanks to their help. If you are out there wondering which driving school you should learn from, I would highly suggest giving Driving Skills Academy just 1-2 hours of your time. If you give them a chance, then I am certain you'll also see why learning from Driving Skills Academy is a very smart decision. read more

I never wrote a review about anyone and rarely for anything but the whole experience deserved my time to write this. Shane is just phenomenal that I felt like writing a review is the least I could do. Less than 48 hours ago I passed my G2 test and it's all thanks to him. He has this incredible ability to seamlessly build confidence in yourself and makes things very easy to understand. He is a legend in having patience and is super approachable in any question you have. And if you were to meet him in person, he's super kind, easy-going, and very encouraging. I love how he's social and cares for you so it's really easy to have a conversation with him. I actually looked forward to going for driving practices with him. He made it such a positive learning experience. I give you my word that you will not regret going to him for driving lessons. He really is the best. Say your goodbyes to fear, self-doubt, unconfident beliefs, unclarity, and mistakes and hello to success and your future license if you choose him. I'll definitely be going back to him for my G! I'm also going to recommend him to my sister for her future G2 test coming up :) read more

He's the best when it comes to truly mastering the art of driving. He's such a good instructor and teacher when it comes to knowing how to put the pedal to the metal in the most skilled and brilliant way. If you want to be your very best when it comes to learning how to drive and gaining that consistent knowledge and proving your skills when it comes to test time then there's nobody better to come too then Wheezy. He is your key to being your very absolute best when it comes to driving. I'm proud to say as a New Fully Licensed Driver that I had the absolute best, motivating and insightful experience even down to the final moments as we waited in the car for the instructor to come before I started my Road Test and Wheezy was giving me the best advice on how to be successful during my test. I used every piece of his knowledge, practices, defensive driving mindset to fully be focused and locked in to achieve my G. There is nobody better to help you then Wheezy(Shane). He's the best at what he does. -Alexander Bowerbank read more

I obtained my G2 after several years taking a break from driving. My success is in large part due to Shane. He's a great instructor, very patient, calm and informative. Shane has a great teaching style and is able to simplify complicated driving maneuvers like parallel parking, reverse parking, left-turns, into very easy to understand techniques that anyone can perform. He motivates you throughout your learning, is very patient even when you make mistakes and encourages you to get it right the next time. All these actually help to build your confidence, which is most important to great driving. On the test day, Shane will go through all the tips and techniques which actually is a good revision and reminder. Overall, Shane does not only train you to pass the drive test but also be a great driver in future. I strongly recommend Shane and his driving school. P.S: The cherry on the cake is Shane's in-car music station is top notch, which makes driving so much fun. read more

I failed my G2 twice and only had time for one more attempt before my license expired (and I'd have to start all over again). Booking was fast, easy, and accommodating given my time constraints. He communicates primarily over text, which works just fine for me. In two 2 hour sessions, Shane was able to give me a crash course on driving rules to fill in any knowledge gaps - especially parallel parking. He also took me to the driving center area and we went through possible routes the examiner might choose. Shane is very relaxed, which put my new driver nervousness at ease. He's tough and a stickler for following driving rules to the letter (but in a nice way). I've continued taking lessons with him to prep for my G. His car has been specifically modified with extra safety features (beyond a break pedal on the passenger side), which along with his calm demeanor, made highway driving less scary. read more

His passion for teaching shines through in every session, making learning enjoyable and productive. His unwavering support, encouragement, and constructive feedback were instrumental in boosting my confidence and refining my skills. Thanks to Shane, I not only passed my G test but also feel well-equipped to handle any driving situation confidently. Shane was patient, supportive, and gave me constructive feedback throughout my training. Even when I made mistakes or doubted myself, he continued to remind me that I was a good driver and encouraged me to stay focused, drive safely, and remain calm. What I appreciated most was that he didn't just teach me the manoeuvres or prepare me for the driving test. He taught me to think while driving -- to observe what's happening around me, anticipate, respond appropriately, and always plan my next move. This approach helped me become much more confident and comfortable behind the wheel. Thank you, Shane, for your patience, guidance, encouragement, and for believing in me. I'm very happy to have achieved my G2, and I'm grateful that you were part of that journey. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely supportive driving instructor! read more

I had a great learning experience with Driving Skills Academy. Being an older person, I was rather nervous to be starting out now, but I decided to give it a try. This school was recommended to me by many people so I picked up the courage and went ahead. The In house classes were very helpful and the female instructor made the classes fun and interesting. I looked forward to attending the classes and learning something new each time. She was very encouraging and informative too. My driving instructor was awesome. He helped me overcome my nervousness and was extremely patient with me. He made me feel very comfortable and made sure I understood what was expected for the test and worked on all my weaknesses until I was confident and ready. He is very kind and a true professional. I would definitely recommend this driving school. read more

I can not say enough good things about Shane as a driving instructor! In my late thirties without ever having had a driver's license, I needed finally get over my nervousness, and learn how to drive. Shane did a fantastic job of teaching me the rules of the road, instilling good habits, building my confidence and preparing me for the G2 and G exams - I passed both on the very first attempt! Shane has such a relaxed, good-natured attitude, that it made me feel relaxed the entire time we were behind the wheel. My wife also took her lessons with Shane, and she really enjoyed it as well - and she also passed her G2 and G tests on the first try! I can't speak to the classroom experience, as I only took in-car lessons, but if you're looking for a driving instructor, I would definitely recommend Driving Skills Academy. read more

My experience with Driving Skills Academy was very positive. The in-class instruction was thorough yet efficient, and the teacher's enthusiasm and expertise on the subjects made the time go by quickly. Shane is an excellent instructor for in-car lessons. He is genuinely interested in all his students and does his best to ensure that they will pass their driver's test with ease. He has a calm demeanor, his lessons are highly informative, and his communication is pleasant in person and over text. Furthermore, he is reliable, extremely knowledgeable, and willing to work with his students' schedules. I had Shane recommended by a friend of mine and I decided to give him a call and book few lessons with him. Shane responded very quickly to my calls and messages, he kept everything written in a notebook for me, organized lessons for me and even reminded me that I had a test coming. Shane is the best driving instructor, so gentle and so patient, he repeated things to me as many times as I needed to hear them until I memorized them, he was punctual everytime I met him and when he was once delayed because he was caught in a road drive test with one student he quickly messaged me and rearranged a meeting accommodating my busy work schedule. I would recommend Shane to al my friends and those who are really in need to get a driver's license, Shane is the guy you need to go and see. read more

My experience with the Driving Skills Academy was overwhelmingly positive. I was scared off of driving during my teens and only got back behind the wheel at 26 years old. Shane was incredibly patient and effective. He explained techniques in a variety of ways (orally, written), modified lessons to work on my particular weaknesses and was always encouraging. I even cried during one lesson (driving in the rain is scary!) and Shane handled it like a pro; he patiently made sure I was feeling okay before I started driving again, and we modified our future lessons so that they gradually built up to major road driving. On the day of my G2 test, Shane coached me on important areas to focus on, which dramatically improved my performance. (I passed!!) Thank you Shane! read more

Today I finally got my G2 after prolonging it for years. I was searching for someone who can teach me basics of driving on the road with confidence. I was nervous every time I got into the car but Shane made me feel more comfortable each time. He was extremely patient and didn't make me feel bad when I made a mistake. He taught me how to correct those mistakes. I have always had a fear of driving but now I feel much more confident driving. I was very nervous to take my G2 road test, I actually wanted to cancel the day of but I did it and he went through everything with me to ensure I was going to pass! His techniques are different and much easier to remember. I highly recommend This driving school! I will be calling him when I want to go for G road test. read more

Falesha was a fantastic, enthusiastic and engaging class instructor. We all know Driver's Ed could be a real bore but at Driving Skills Academy the lessons were enjoyable and I left each class feeling I'd learnt something practical. When I missed two classes the school had no problem enrolling me in two others at a later date. Shane did all my in car lessons, he was wonderfully patient and had all sorts of hacks to make all the various maneuvers easy as pie. He instills confidence in you from the first time you get behind the wheel right until you walk into your test. After my lessons the G2 test was an absolute breeze. Shane knows exactly how the test goes and makes a concentrated effort to ensure his students are as prepared as possible going in. read more

I attended the course here last fall and just went for my G2 and passed! I was a bit nervous about the in car lessons with a stranger just out of comfort ( I don't even really like taking Uber) but I can't express how thankful I am to Shane for helping me feel comfortable and at ease. He is really patient and points things out in a very gentle manner but also doesn't let things slide so you are really prepared for the road and your test too. He's got a new car which is well maintained and clean. There was a lot of flexibility in scheduling around my work and school which was greatly appreciated. The in class material was a bit dry but Falesha did a great job keeping us engaged (bless her for that). Thank you both for the great experience! read more

I have been driving for 2+ years and sitting on my G2 but wasn't confident to take the G road test without some fine tuning! I took the mini package with Shane and he was absolutely wonderful the whole time! He's very patient, calm and effective in his manner of communication. He would also commend me during the lesson which I find quite helpful in boosting my confidence on the road. In fact, there was a time that I was so nervous that I wanted to postpone my road test but he believed in me that I can make it and so I did! Took the road test yesterday and I got my G on the first try! I was on cloud nine!!! BEST training produces BEST RESULTS!!! It's worth every penny, effort and time. Highly recommended! read more

I passed my G2 test 2 months ago on my first attempt. Shane is a thorough professional .His training skills cannot be matched in that he is calm , gentle and tries to make you feel comfortable while reminding you gently when you need to correct yourself . I have been driving for years but I am definitely a better driver thanks to him . Apart from the training he has been very prompt in responding to my queries by e-mail .He was unable to answer my calls during the day as he was training students but he did make it a point to contact me as soon as he got the time . I found this place through the reviews and I hope many others get the opportunity to train with Shane .You will not regret it . SI read more
