The problem: I was left with streaky residue on my windshield and roof that wasn't there before, and it doesn't come off with water. When I raised it, they claimed the marks were "already present" and blamed an automatic car wash, despite the fact that I've never taken my car through one and never had this issue with my previous detailer. They did then attempt to come clean it off, but stopped halfway. The proposed next step was to treat it with acid -- an aggressive chemical that risks etching glass and damaging trim, and overkill for what is clearly leftover product from the wash. On top of that, they expected me to drive the car to the shop to fix their own mistake, meaning I'd have to pay for an Uber both ways and take time out of my day. When I pointed that out and asked if they could come to me instead, they stopped responding entirely.

I also spent some time with the owner, Sharif Khan. The way he runs that business, trains his team no just in the craft, but in how to treat customers, -- you could write an HBS case study on this guy. And this is clearly a very self selective team -- everyone cares, everyone knows how to treat a customer. This is so rare today. I learned the hard way that not all highly rated Yelp shops deliver real quality. After going to another popular place, a friend pointed out several issues in the work that I had completely missed. Never again! I would much rather pay for top-tier service and have peace of mind than worry about fixing problems later. Most recently, I had a front PPF and tint done on my Tesla, and the results were flawless. OCD Detailing is one of the few places capable of tinting the entire Tesla roof using a single piece, with no seams, and it looks incredible. They were also kind enough to help install hub caps I purchased separately and recommended a great source for blacked-out emblems. My car turned out beautiful. The only downside is that I live in San Francisco, so the drive is a bit out of the way, but it was absolutely worth it.
