I retained Midge in January of 2008 to help me file an amended return from two years previously. I paid her for the filing of my return in April of 2008, at which time she assured me everything was ready to go and I should not have any problems. However, she not manage to file the returns for a full year. I was very anxious about being charged interest and penalties, and contacted her repeatedly, pleading with her to get the returns I had already paid for filed. She had an endless line of excuses about vacations, corporate deadlines she was dealing with, et cetera. I did not have the financial resources to hire another accountant to do the work I had already paid Midge for, but realized later I should have found a way to pay a different accountant because I ended up paying a $1300 penalty as a direct result of Midge's negligence. She failed to file my returns on time as promised, or as a I paid for. She later refunded part of the fees I paid, but she never offered any kind of apology for her negligence. Do not entrust your taxes to this unethical, unprofessional firm.

Mark told me what documents I would need, including returns from the preceding 2 years. He submitted amended returns for my previous 2 years and got me refunds on both. He then filed my current return and although we did owe some money, I now had much higher confidence in the accuracy of the filed returns, both federal and state. Since that first year, our situation has continued to grow in complexity and I no longer worry when tax time comes 'round. I fill out Mark's annual summary survey and return along with my receipts and am amazed that I typically get back my completed return, ready to file, in just a few days. Though we have had a few years where we owed money on our returns, this year (2021) was very tough for my wife and me. I had a job change and my wife had 2 job changes, we sold our house and moved from MA to NH. Coupled with some 401K rollovers, and our tax situation was even more confusing and beyond my ability to manage.
