Drink is one of the few night clubs in the Northwest suburbs. This is a very trendy spot and draws all the people that don't live in the city here. There are many night club spots where you dress to impress and go to be seen. Places that you feel like you are somebody and tonight is your night. These are all great things but it is tough for me to believe these people are equivalent from city to suburbs. All the bells and whistles are included here from the long line for entrance, possible cover and the full on club experience. They have the lights, the displays, the music and the performances. The people here are what I would like to think are the shore like type of people. Very metro-sexual guys and done up girls both with super tans. There is no problem with this but again I find it hard to "believe" or be fooled to think that these people are really this "cool". read more

Bartender was awesome. Really nice and friendly. He made me a great drink a twist on a Long Island for only $5. We came o a Friday night. Awesome lights and a cool DJ. Enjoy an evening on the porch with friends to dance music. I'm a fan of DRINK. There are only a handful of places you can go to get a good dance on. But this is the only place in the area with such an expansive deck, cabanas, outdoor bar, sand volleyball and bags. I'm actually not a huge dancer, but the options of how you want to entertain yourself are endless. They also host great parties!!! read more

I have a blast every single time I come here!!!! Drink definitly owns the suburbs! I've gone to so many clubs downtown & this place is still my #1 choice. I've spent two birthdays in a row here & numerous friends birthdays. Tuesdays & Saturdays are the days to go! Always great music, it's always packed, there's a lot of room to move around or bars to go to so you don't have to wait forever for drinks. Not to mention two rooms inside. Outside theres another bar, which is so convenient in the summer so you dont have to walk back inside for new drinks. There are fire-pits & heaters outside when it's cold out. Drink prices are so reasonable. Tuesdays are really great with $1-$4 specials. At the end of the night, they sell pizza by the slices which is great after a night of drinking for your drunk friends. To get a city type of club in the suburbs, you can only go to Drink. The outside bar garden is beautiful. HOWEVER they have become a lot more snobby as they have gotten more exposure the past couple years. I had my 21st and 22nd birthday here and had bottle service but for my 23rd, I was told there was a 3 bottle minimum (a couple small tables had only a 2 bottle minimum) and even though I had been coming there for a couple years, they would not accommodate me. The year before, they even Facebook messaged me and offered me free wristbands for my party for a 2 hour open bar! It makes sense to raise prices as your demand gets higher but I believe all companies should try and keep their returning customers happy as well. read more

I went there last Saturday and it was awful. We stood in the line for more then two hours and the only way to get in there was paying bribes to the manager. More then 100 people skipped the line paying the manager. And they are not taking precautions with the Covid. It's ridiculous how the security treats people. The bouncer should be the face of the place because he is greeting people in and should have a welcoming demeanor, HOWEVER.... That is not the case. He takes his job as a way to condescend others for the most minimal things. There is a proper and less demeaning manner to address the club policies. My group of friends and I came in and he instantly scolded one for his hat and the other for his shorts, then proceeded to me saying my ID was invalid (which was hole punched but not expired until 2023). Now I know there are rules and regulations for nightclub purposes, but he should be more gentle, kind, and human to the people allowing this club to stay functioning. I am extremely disappointed as he continued to taunt me as I questioned the reasoning for his attitude. He called his manager over and the manager was less demeaning than him and also tried to ease the situation but I would like to challenge the manger to do proper customer service training with his employees, as this is 2022 and people should not be treated as this bouncer treated the night clubs customers. Please know I am not upset at the bouncer for reinforcing the policies, I am upset at the condescending, demeaning, taunting, and inhumanity form that the bouncer spoke to Drink Nightclub customers. Went there for a bday gathering and was immpressed with what they accomplished inside from the old Alumni & Mad Mark's. This was Tuesday night and the drink specials were great. I was a bit put off by the shot girl & other girl workers as they looked super trashy and the outfits were just tacky. I'm sorry who wears furry boots in summer, knock it off! lol I loved that they had plenty of seating as it was pretty packed and i was still able to find somewhere to chill and chat. The music was ehhh...as variety was just not there. The guy on the Mic was annoying like always but thats everywhere. Bartenders were good, and paid attention and got our drinks quick. Worst birthday experience at a club I ever had. The management would not respond to any of my email as or voicemails the week before my bday. I requested one song for my bday and the dj told me he can't download any music even after I offered $1000. I would expect a "high end club" like this to have such capabilities. Although it has a lively and fun atmosphere, there are some serious cons that outweigh the pros of this establishment. The music is so loud that after 24 hours, my ears are still ringing. Three other friends I was with are experiencing the same thing, even though we only stayed there for about an hour. Make sure you bring ear plugs if you don't want to suffer the same amount of hearing damage we did. Secondly, my car's emblem was pried off of it in the parking lot. Lots of seedy people with no morals seem to lurk around Drink. Think twice before coming here; you might just suffer permanent ear damage and have your belongings tampered with without any repercussions. read more

We got here too early for an advertised event which was not as advertised at all. But let me separate the review into two. One for the venue and club itself, and one for the event. The club is quite large inside, but the best part is outside. In the summer, they have a sandlot which turns into quite the beach party. We were lucky to show up on the first night they opened the outside bar, limited opening and drinks outside, but winter was finally over and we were feeling nice. Inside, we went upstairs and sat on the couches overlooking the dance floor, felt quite VIP. Now, the event. They advertised Jay Sean on Friday night for which we had to buy tickets online. On the site the time to show up was 7pm, facebook said 9pm. we got in around 9. The place was totally empty except for one dude that really just wanted to dance it off. We didnt have to pay cover since we got there so early. No one asked about tickets, so money wasted there. Those that came later had to pay cover... (I am not a big clubber so this was not my scene) The 'artist' showed up at 1:30am instead of 9,10,11,or midnight as we were told. They had a really annoying hype man stalling and passing time till Jay Sean got there. I get that he used to be somewhat famous.. but cmon man! I was there for my fiance and her friends who got a kick out of Jay Sean performing half of his song, and one that wasnt even his.. then sitting down to drink... i had a good time drinking outside, and would rather come to a summer beach party than try to attend an event here. First the negatives which will be followed by equally great positives: beware of the bartenders. They will extort you, and I truly mean that. Your first drink will be 5$ but after a few hours they will look you in the eye and charge you 10$ for it. I've been going there for a while now, and it's the same every time. It happens to everyone if they think they can get away with it. It's just.. part of their culture I guess.. Pro tip: know the prices and don't over pay. It's a game to them. Now no matter what they say I'll just slap down the actual price in cash and walk away. Also I would recommend paying in cash. Nothing screams "I'm going to steal your credit card info" like thieves. Now the positives. This is the best night club scene in the suburbs, and nothing around can compare. The music is amazing. Always has an awesome dj. And the lights are so bad ass. In the summer time the balcony is fully open which is cool. But even in the winter you can roam it if you wanna smoke. Still pretty dope. Later in the night the whole place turns into a rave. Everyone's rocking out to the dj. It's fucking awesome! So if you can get past the shitty staff I would highly recommend going here. Also I might recommend not tipping . Yicks. Okay well, putting a "night club" in the Northwest suburbs is probably not the best idea. It could be the night I went, but after looking at a few other posts, I'm afraid not. The interior was decent. But the atmosphere is a different thing. Just seemed like older European couples trying to have a good time. Which is cool. But not a scene for someone in their 20's. The night I went I was embarrassed at how hard the person on stage was trying. They were passing out glow tubes trying to make it a rave or something yet when announcing a horrible singer he took his phone out like he was either checking facebook or looking up the girls name because he forgot it... The waitresses didn't have flattering clothes on, so it just aided to negative ideas about the concept of this place. And of course, creepy men were creeping as well. I am a city girl at heart but I live in the suburbs. I usually go out in the city but I had a great time at this club. I went on a Wednesday night which is their Meringue, Salsa and Bachata night. They have dance lessons at 9pm until 10pm and they dance all night after. They have an area that plays Top 40s (R&B and rap) as well with its own bar. The inside is actually quite amazing. They have a second level that was not occupied at that time. I am amazed that the place does not get jam packed on any day. It would be an amazing place to throw parties and huge events. It is a gem for promoters, after parties, etc. The drinks were great, bartenders really nice, plenty of parting, etc. I will return! read more

I've been here several times for events/birthdays and have enjoyed it each time. I like that they have a lot of lounge seating, and several bars in which to get a drink. This place has wonderful outdoor space in warm weather. I like the red leather sofas and the cocktail servers are friendly. They have an entire room dedicated to Absolut vodka and where they have every flavor of Absolut available! I'm not a "club" person but this place works for me, and I pay in cash when I go to a bar. So I never experience these kinds of issues that other reviewers have with credit card problems. read more

It's come a long way from Alumni Club...although many people need to know Drink is where AC used to be - even after 3 years of being called Drink! Excellent lighting and sound...multiple bars with varying atmospheres. They tried to give the place a little feel of luxury with several tables for (reasonably priced) bottle service. Great place to go "clubbing" in the suburbs. Drinks are fair priced, bartenders and servers are friendly. Too bad there aren't more options out there for us, but this one's A OK for me! read more

Extremely poor management. They charge $720 for reserving a table with two bottles of wine. Therefore all the cabanas and tables/couches are empty. I recently wanted to celebrate my birthday at this place, so I went there early to get a table. I ordered drinks and food from the poor menu that they had (only 3 options and food was not good) from the bar outside. I was told that I can order a pizza from Moretti's pizza. I was told the Moretti closes at 10pm. When I called them before 9pm they already closed the kitchen. Then I was advised by the bartender at Drink to order pizza from a different place, so I did. When the pizza came (order about $100), the Drink staff did not let me bring the pizza in. We asked to speak with the manager. This guy has a big ego, he did not even want to hear the situation and he banned my entire birthday group from the place. Apparently they only work with Moretti's pizza. They allow you to bring cake from outside but pizza from a different place than Moretti (when Moretti is closed before the advertised time and nothing on the bar menu) is not OK... The manager was rude, totally illogical and has no clue about customer service. Instead of dealing with the people who advised me wrong he chose to ban us from the club. I would not set my foot in that place anyhow. He ruined my birthday celebration for that part of the night. If I can give this place minus 5 stars, I would...Owner be aware...you need to change your staff starting at the top! read more

i can say that i enjoyed DRINK more than John Barleycorn.. music wasn't the constant traditional dubstep, had nice outdoor patio area with giant heaters, ive gone on both friday and saturday nights and hasn't been overly crowded. Traditional dress code: no hats, jeans, tennis shoes, etc... i like that there weren't teeny boppers all over, good mid aged crowds and they played a variety of dance music. Good mix of guys and girls, drinks "normally" priced for a club, had 2 levels, and lights/music volume were all very appealing. i would definately go again. read more

I organized 40th B-day for my husband. I spend over $3000 cash for open bar for 50 people(4 hours) an some food( around $300). Music was ok, food good but security and management made my party sucks! I have mixed feelings about this place. I've visited this establishment a couple of times in the past month. The first time we visited, my girl and I had an awesome time. The bartenders were super nice and we had a blast playing bags in the outdoor bar area. Since she lives near, we decided that we would visit often to have a few drinks and play some bags(cornhole game). The second time we visited, the experience was a bit strange. We ordered the spinach dip appetizer and some beers to get our night started. The bartender(not too friendly) brought out the chips and dip, and also gave us a couple of appetizer plates. Both of the appetizer plates had some gooey brown syrup still on the plate. We decided to not say anything, and just ate off the big plate of chips and dip. After eating and drink a few beers, we went outside to get some more beers and to play some bags. I opened up a tab at the outdoor bar with a bartender named Elena. She was nice enough throughout the night. At the end of the night, when I went to close my tab, she accidentally ran my card on the wrong tab. Eventually, after figuring out what happened, she charged my card for the correct tab. At this point, I thought she voided the incorrect charge, but I guess she didn't. After a couple of days, multiple charges showed up on my card. A pending $50 authorization hold, a pending charge for the incorrect tab, and also a pending charge for the correct tab. I let a couple days pass by to see if the authorization hold and incorrect charge would disappear. Well, the charge for the incorrect tab didn't disappear, so the first thing I did was call Drink nightclub to fix the problem. This is when the nightmare started(worse than Comcast customer care, if you know what I mean). I called and spoke to multiple people who claimed to be the manager there. Eventually, they told me I had to call their corporate office and speak to a lady named Jackie Bruno. I did so, and she told me that she would have to get someone at Drink to look over the receipts. Someone called back and told me that they found the receipts and would have to call me back after speaking with the bartender. No one called me back. I called again and they said I would have to leave my name and number. I did so, and no one called me back. The next day, I called again and they told me to leave my number again because Mitch the manager threw away my number. I gave them my number again, and no one called back. I called again the next day and spoke to Mitch, who said he had no idea who I was and that he just came back from Minnesota. By this point, I realized that I was being given the run around. He said he would call back, and when he did, he told me that Jackie Bruno from corporate had already put in the refund on my card and that it was out of his hands now that corporate said they were going to take care of it. I called Jackie Bruno at corporate the next day and she said she had no idea who I was and that I never spoke to her before. She told me that she would call back that day, but never did. I called the next day, and she didn't pick up. I called multiple times in a row with my cell phone, and no one answered. I decided to call with my office phone(by the way, everyone at my office was being updated on the progress), and surprisingly, she picked up. She seemed surprised that it was me, and said that she would call back later. I stood my ground and told her that this was ridiculous and that I shouldn't have to call everyday for two weeks to get my money back in my account. She sounded like she couldn't care less. Eventually, a guy named John called me back and told me that he would be putting my refund through. He called everyday to see if it went through, and eventually it did after 3 days. All in all, the place is fun and the drinks are affordable, but it wasn't worth the trouble. Mitch and John both offered to buy me my first round if I come back, so I may go and see if they honor what they said, but I don't know. If the experience is better, I'll change my rating. The whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth, as you could imagine. If you do end up going here, make sure to bring cash and don't use your card. Visited Drink for the first time last night with a group of 4 to celebrate a birthday and new job. We arrived pretty early around 8 to get a feel of the place, talk to the staff, have a few drinks to start the night. Before I get into the problems with Drink, I'd like to be fair and talk about the good things we experienced. Venue is huge, multiple floors, great sound/lighting system, more than enough bars to take care of you. Bathrooms were big and clean, and located conveniently near the entrance. The DJs were awesome, and even took requests, just be respectful and tip them. Bartenders were great, as well as our server for bottle service, so don't skimp on the tips as they deserve it. Matthew, our bartender was a great guy, friendly, and appreciated the tip that I left him. He recommended coming back around 10, when it would be busier. I inquired about bottle service, as our group wanted to secure a table close to the DJ. Matthew told me that we'd be fine, we just had to buy one bottle and they would take care of us, and to let the doorman know that we spoke to Matthew. This is where the problems begin - with the management. We arrive around 11, the place is packed, but there were still areas that didn't have many people as the venue is pretty huge. We came well dressed, and got respect from the doorman, (he was turning away people who were wearing sneakers, boots, or basically looked homeless). However, after I mentioned that we were here earlier and spoke to Matthew about a table, we were told by a guy named Jason that we had to buy 2 bottles, and it couldn't be champagne (since those were $75). I was a bit surprised about the shakedown at the door, which reminded me of some sleazy used car salesman trying to screw me over. I reasoned with Jason and said that we were told something different by Matthew, and that we were here to celebrate and have a good time, and that we'd probably be drinking more anyway, (if this rude idiot wasn't trying to haggle with me at the door). He agreed to put us in the Absolut Lounge, with a bottle of Tito's vodka ($170 for a 750ml bottle that normally costs $17.99). Our party of 2 Indian men, 1 indian girl, and 1 white girl is placed in the far back of the venue, away from the main DJ, and the main bar. I am starting to regret my decision. I decide to go to the bar and have a chat with Matthew. I explained what happened at the front, as well as the fact that we were placed away from everyone else. He says not to worry, just talk to the hostess at the front and she will have us moved closer to the main dance floor. I told him that I appreciated his help, and slipped him a $20. I explain the situation to the the girl at the front, named Olivia, and she looks at me like I'm crazy. She calls over Jason, and he says to me that our party cannot sit over there unless we buy two bottles. I look over, and there is literally no one over there, out of the 7-8 tables. I explained that Matthew said it wouldn't be a problem, and you know what he tells me? "Matthew is just a bartender, I don't know why he is telling you anything, he's not a manager. I'll have a word with Matthew later." Instead of raising hell or being angry, I just sighed and shook Jason's hand, and thanked him for his help. I knew then that I would never come back to this place. Here's some free advice for the management, the whole point of marking up liquor by 1000% is to provide good SERVICE, that's why it's called BOTTLE SERVICE. By paying $170 for a $17 bottle of liquor, I'm expecting to be treated with a bit of respect and accommodation. It would have been one thing if the entire section was packed full of people buying $500 Belvedere magnums, but it was empty. My advice for working professionals with money, go to Underground Wonder Bar in Chicago, they will take care of you there. If you need a cheap place to get drunk, Drink is the place for you. P.S. - My apologies to Matthew if we got you in some trouble with management, you were trying so hard to take care of us, you are definitely one of the best bartenders I've had! read more

Came here last night with a few friends. I didn't know what to expect since I had never heard of this place. There is valet parking ($5 for "regular", $10 for VIP), but also a private lot that is free. I recommend parking for free...it isn't like it's hard to park in a parking lot. We paid $5/per person to get in. I'm not a fan of paying cover charges, but whatever. I can see why, because they had the live DJ, some live entertainment (a girl that did acrobatics from some cloth hanging down from the ceiling, and a girl that had a lit-up hoolah hoop). At about 10:30 hardly anyone was on the dance floor, but the DJ was goin and the bars were starting to get busy. They have a lot of seating areas (pretty nice too) and a few bars to choose from. At about 11:30 the dance floor was PACKED. It's a goo sized dance floor too.The age range is mostly people in their 20's, but a saw a few older people in the crowd. There is some amazing people watching opportunities here!! I think that was probably the best part. The drinks are about $6 each, and they have shots for $4 and $6. There are girls walking around with shots that you can buy as well. Needless to say, I was surprised that the suburbs had a dance club for younger peoples...pretty exciting! Very unfortunate that my girlfriend decided to choose this place to have her birthday party. She already had difficulty trying to make a reservations ahead of time as they don't accept any unless you reserve their VIP section for $750!! Crazy! No good selection of foods/appetizers. There is one place they allow you to order pizza from and it shows in their menu that the place is open until 10pm. We decided to order at 930pm and they said that their kitchen is already closed 30 minutes ago. We told the bartender about the situation and asked if we can order somewhere else and she said yes. So, the order came and manager (Mike) said we can't bring food in from outside. Long story, there was an exchange or words but we ended up just eating the pizza outside. When we are about to return inside, the employee that was checking the IDs said the manager told him that we are no longer allowed inside. Wow! No matter how the guys apologized for the exchange of words, he said no. They don't have any customer service skills at all and I don't understand how he qualified for that job? Unless he owns the place which is sad. No way we will ever go back there after how he treated us. Horrible management! read more

I've been to Drink a couple times, but it doesn't make my top 5 choices for a Friday or Saturday night. This past Saturday me & a couple buddies walked in, showed ID's & were promptly instructed that hoodies aren't allowed in the club so we'd have to get them checked for $2. After we were inside awhile, I counted a total of about 10 people who were wearing a coat or hoodie. Not sure if they pick & choose who's allowed to wear them or not, but it irked me. The music was decent enough, but when the female dancer started posing & hanging on the ceiling swing, that confused me a little, maybe this is typical at clubs these days but it looked very out of place. I personally think that Drink is having an identity crisis & tries so hard to be a downtown club. But it's still Alumni Club in Schaumburg, and always will be no matter how many times you rename it or try to rearrange things. read more

Like another reviewer...can we get music variety! I was impressed at how there were sections for loungin, dancin, beer gardenin, and just plain room, however techno music...all night! My girlfriends and I requested some hip hop. Something you can shake your hips too not jump up and down too. We had had enough of that. The DJ said, "No, we switch it up at 1:00" So we waited. 1:30 rolled around and instead of 130 bpm it switched to 180 bpm. I hope it lasts but like every other techno joint in schaumburg, it probably won't. read more

So I guess Tuesday is "Ladies Night" or as my friends know it... $1 drink night! We showed up after 9pm and my guy friend had to pay $5 to get in... wouldn't have been a big deal but the place was EMPTY. I get it, it's a Tuesday... but it was ALL men. I think there was myself and about 5 other girls. I felt like a piece of meat! What pissed me off the most is that it is $1 drink night..cocktails are $2 BUT when i opened a tab they authorized $50 on my card! I understand you don't want people to run out on you but come on I'd have to do a lot of drinking on your $1 drink night to max out that tab! ... oh, and by the way, it's Thursday and the authorization is still holding... you should have signs or have the bartenders tell the customers they are doing this. The real kicker is... I paid my tab in CASH at the end of the night. DRINK, I will NOT be coming back. The lack of people, service, the watered down drinks, and the credit card thing is a huge turn off. Your only saving grace is the patio... but that's not enough for me. The manager, Nola was excellent to work with, however I think the communication on what to expect when setting up a birthday for a 21-year old could have been better. She never mentioned there was a dress code or that if the establishment over-serves someone that the club will kick you and the entire party out. Very poor communication. The bartender Matthew was great and made sure my son enjoyed celebrating his 21st birthday. Thank you Mitch, for working with my husband and doing the right thing. And now for the negative. Beware of the bouncers! They're awful. They don't know how to difuse situations or handle them appropriately. They're extremely aggressive and use their positions to abuse people. I came here during after hours to drink and dance. I see that they have a pretty large kitchen and dining room area. At the end of the night they served pizzas. If I could give zero stars I would. It was my nieces 21st birthday party so we called ahead for a vip booth. They informed us that there was a two bottle minimum and each bottle was around $200.00. They said roughly $480 out the door with gratuity. I agreed and we went. We sit down and a host gives us a menu with all their bottles and prices. We saw a Jamison and gray goose special for $355.00. The waitress comes and tells us the menu is old and they didn't have new menus. They were waiting on them from corporate. She never told us pricing so I assumed it would be the $480.00 that we discussed on the phone. We ended up having a nice time while there celebrating and ordered another bottle of gray goose. We get the bill and it was $900.00. $150 being gratuity that was supposed to be $80. We wanted to make this night special for my niece and the waitress didn't bring out the bottles with the usual sparklers and also did not pour 1 drink for us all night. I have been to drink numerous times since it was alumni and received good customer service from the bottle service section but tonight it was very lacking and disappointing. On top of that they grossly overcharged us. I spoke to the manager asking him to meet us in the middle because it is not good business to not have menus, especially in a vip section when there are a lot of options. I told him that I shoulder some blame for not asking the price at ordering but the more I think of it I did ask over the phone and was given a price that they didn't honor. This place is very hit or miss. There's a cover charge past 10pm that's $5 which isn't much. However, the club is full of people that are between the ages of late 20s-mid 30s and older even. People don't dance much. They have great resources also which is real unfortunate. On top of this the bartender charged me for asking for 2 cups of water for me and my girlfriend. When I asked for cups she said "with purchase only" and I had already purchased 4 drinks with other bartenders. Then she proceeded to say "It's only five dollars" after laughing about it. I paid the $5 for the bottled waters but it was still scummy after just wanting cups of water from being dehydrated after dancing. The DJs are decent at best. They can't seem to keep a beat going worth the life of them. They constantly change the tempo and it makes it VERY awkward if you're trying to continuously keep dancing with your significant other. This is a Saturday night around 11pm mind you. It's a peak of service time. The place looks the part. Indoor and outdoor DJs and a small fire pit with cushioned seating around it(this can be rented out. We got kicked out of that area after the security told us it was reserved). Other than that there's both an outdoor and indoor bar. Pricing for drinks is decent. Overall: -Bartenders have decent to crap service -This place is for middle aged people mostly -There's an indoor and outdoor area -DJs don't know how to keep a beat -Great resources but awful use of theme This place could be so much better but falls flat on decent DJs that need more experience.
