Iv been going to drink and draw for a while now. It started life out in Coventry and was a much smaller event. It recently moved to the Edwardian tearooms in Birmingham and saw a much deserved boom in popularity. Both events at the Edwardian tearooms have seen people packing out rooms and moving into the main museum floors just for seating.
The idea of the event is you grab yourself some paper, pens, pencils, a drink and start to draw with a particular set theme in mind. It's a fantastic social gathering and doesn't really call for any 'artistic' ability but rather just participation. It's really interesting going around and seeing what everyone else's interpretation/answering of the set theme has been. A DJ is also on hand to play out some chilled out vibes.
The food/snacks/drinks are the Edwardian tea rooms standard availability. Expect a limited bar and brunch/cream tea type offerings. I do remember some local independent beer being on offer also.
One of the best things about this event is that it is totally free to attend! So if your looking for a slightly different fun evening I highly recommend it! read more
