One of the coolest things about it is the several fish tanks throughout the restaurant... they were very well maintained, and we noticed quite a few people getting up to walk around and look at them. The location is also beautiful, surrounded by cabins, condos, villas, and scenic views, with a horse stable nearby and right along the water. We did wait a while to be greeted when we first arrived, but our waitress was friendly and warm once she got to us. We started with the fried pickle spears, Wisconsin cheese curds, and spicy spinach-artichoke dip. Unfortunately, none of the appetizers came out hot, they were more lukewarm, almost like they had been sitting for a bit. We asked for the spinach-artichoke dip to be warmed back up, but even after that, it still wasn't as hot as we would have liked. We also prefer the cheese in dips like that to be nice and melted, and the chips definitely tasted like they came straight from a bag. They weren't very fresh and were somewhat stale. I tried the piña colada, which was okay but not particularly flavorful. My partner had a Spotted Cow and my mom had a Cabernet, and neither had any complaints. Our entrées came out shortly after the appetizers, so we didn't have a long wait. Again, though, the food wasn't piping hot. That said, there were definitely some highlights. The steak was really good and well prepared. The sandwich was also very good.. we were just surprised the vegetables weren't already mixed into it, since we usually expect Italian beef to come with the peppers/onions incorporated. The prime rib was very good as well, and the shrimp was good and came with cocktail sauce. We personally would have preferred lemon and butter with the shrimp, but that's just a preference. The green beans were simple but good especially after a long day at the waterpark! Overall, we'd recommend Rivers Edge to someone looking for reasonably priced entrées in a relaxed, casual atmosphere. It seems like the sandwiches and broasted chicken may be some of their go-to/cash-cow items, while some of the other entrées may be a little more hit or miss. We were excited about the appetizer variety, but the biggest issue for us was definitely the temperature of the food. I'd strongly recommend that the kitchen focus on getting everything out genuinely hot rather than lukewarm. Despite that, the atmosphere and location are great, and it's a nice place to unwind after a busy day in the Dells. I'd give it 3.5/5 stars overall. I'm sure this place is even more beautiful in the fall/winter.

The bar is not a big place but it was inviting and friendly. Took a little while before the waitress came over to our table to let us know it would be about an hour wait. We were fine since we could tell by all the cars in the area there wasn't going to be a less crowded. We were given a menu for Friday fish fries which is exactly what we wanted. We all ordered the 3 piece hand breaded cod which was only $11.50! You had a choice of baked potato or fries, Cole slaw or cottage cheese and you got a warm dinner roll with cinnamon butter on the side (regular butter was on the table). They were out of baked potatoes so we each had fries with the Cole slaw. Everything was delicious and you absolutely can't beat the price. We will be back.

We have a place in Lyndon Station and are always looking for a great Fish fry place on Fridays when…read morewe are up there. Our usual go to is Norm's(always excellent),but we also want to try new places, but try to avoid the Dells itself,as their prices are more just because it's the Dells. We decided fo a few doors down to Mac's Stumble Out,and it was again a great option to Norm's.As we knew,it would be very busy, and it was, almost an hour wait, but it's usually like this everywhere in the Dells in the Summer on Friday, so we stayed(great choice). All four of us ordered the 3 piece Cod,which had multiple side options, we all chose the fries option. We settled in and had a few beverages and caught up while we waited.Luckily,it didn't take the full hour(service was a little slow due to size of the crowd of patrons, but that was to be expected). Our waitress brought out all 4 orders and the fish was crispy and hot(only downside was the fries didn't match the quality of the fish,oh well) and good coleslaw and warm dinner role(with cinnamon butter as an alternative, included. The fish was awesome, some of the best I've had,and needless to say I ate all of it.We also noticed the $price, too,$11.95,very,very reasonable for the Dells area.We now have another great option close by.It was a nice & clean place, and if the rest of the menu is as good as the Fish fry, we'll definitely be back.Again only reason it's not 5 stars was the fries and tougher time getting additional drinks. Stay away from the Dells prices and long long waits, drive a few minutes away to Lyndon Station, it's we'll worth it,and less expensive.
