The initial price was not honored in the end and the vice president (Stuart) took no responsibility for his staff's poor communication. Once we went through our pre-possession walk-through, we noticed the lighting fixtures in the bathrooms were giving off yellow spot shadows all over the white countertop and sink. We spoke to the vice president twice about this and he said he would look into this. He would never follow up and we had to call him again and again. Last time we spoke, he said the president of the company (Simon) was supposed to call us and he'll follow up. Never got a call, never heard from anyone. We even emailed Simon ourselves but he didn't respond. Seems like the company is just about taking your money but not addressing issues with their fixtures or pricing discrepancies. We didn't expect much from them but a promised follow-up courtesy call doesn't take much. Very poor customer service and clearly no interest in customer retention.

It was 15 minutes until close (but we had come into the store over an hour before close) and the guy said he couldn't get the lights out for us in time so we would have to come back. He LEGITIMATELY had 7 staff behind him doing nothing but talking gossip, and it would have taken maybe 10 minutes of their time. Keep in mind our 3 kids were in the store with us. Now they expect us to go back with 3 kids to pick up the lights another day. Well, they can forget that! It would have taken 15 minutes and we would have been so grateful they spent an extra 10 minutes at work Saturday but instead I will be going elsewhere to spend my hard earned money to replace all the light fixtures in my house.

Right away, I loved that they actually had someone answering the phone in a business-like manner. I'm not impressed when I call a service company and the phone gets picked up with a 'yeah?' or a 'hi', and I have to ask if this is the electrician. They also gave me a reminder call the day before the appointment, which was very thoughtful of them. Chuck, the general manager, showed up exactly on time for the appointment and was able to resolve both issues in about half an hour. He was very nice, and I found their prices reasonable and fair. I will definitely be using this company again for future work, and would highly recommend them to others.

When you live in Winnipeg, it's nice having a car starter when the temperature is -40°C in the winter before you factor in the windchill. I followed suit. I had no idea how to install a remote car starter. You can buy the kit and do it yourself if you are savvy. I had a knowledgeable male staffer lead me the way to the selection of car starters. Once I chose the one that suited my needs, he booked an appointment to have my car starter installed. It took a couple of hours to have it installed. I ended up dropping off my car and then waiting for it by having lunch at an eatery that is sadly gone. It had the best spaghetti pie that I have ever had. I was pleased with my car starter. The left button started my car. I could be a few blocks away and it would start without fail. It was cool and much needed when it was frigid outside. I had an outdoor parking spot where I lived, so starting my car remotely was nice. I was recently at a spa to get a manicure while on vacation. Advance Electronics was across the street, which brought back fond memories of owning my first car and having a remote car starter installed. Since I moved back to Markham, I have never had the need for a car starter. It would be a nice perk, but it's not as cold here to merit shelling out for one. (321)
