So, now I am a year out from my service done here and my car still runs so...here we go…read more Less than a week after a major, very expensive repair at a different shop, my check engine light came on. Again. Not sure that my car would make it nearly 100 miles back to the problematic shop in question (it would not have), I called the warranty company which supposedly covered the repair to find a place in town to have it looked at and potentially fixed....again. UNFORTUNATELY....the warranty, which I was sold as coverage of the entire engine replacement done at Southside Auto in Lexington, Kentucky (which...you should avoid like the plague! WARNING do not go to Southside Auto in Lex...) didn't actually cover, you know, ENGINES. But they were able to recommend some local shops which I could take my car to. The first one I went to simply cleared the code which caused the engine light to come on....not looking at anything or doing any work. So, less than a day later, when the light came back on...I went to the second shop on the list: Bemudo. Bemudo is a little tricky to find. But, the service provided is worth the finding. A very small operation but, in my experience, dedicated to accurate and honest work and good customer service. I told Uche the whole story so far up to the point of my getting to him. And he was mad on my behalf. Then, after checking out my car, he was even more mad on my behalf and very apologetic about finding out that my car was STILL leaking oil. We discussed our options, his first recommendation was to bring the car back to the original repair shop and make them fix it...but in all honesty, safely getting the car towed back to the other city would probably have cost at least half as much as the coming repair, with no guarantee that the other shop would admit fault and fix it. So we decided to move forward with the repair at Bemudo, and with documentation from Uche, I would try and get some kind of compensation from the other shop. The repair didn't go quickly, but it was also days before Christmas and I was heading out of town for 8 days, so there wasn't a terrible rush. The folks are Bemudo were in reliably constant contact with me about what needed to be done and what it would cost, as well as giving me the information I needed to argue my situation with the other shop. So it has been a little over a year since it all went diggity-down and my car has remained running. The work gets done and it apparently seems to get done well. Uche and any other staff at Bemudo gave me the impression that they cared about me and my situation. I don't want to have to go back to them....but if something were to happen to my automobile, Bemudo would be my first choice of repair shops.

He said he could look at it (within a 24 hour period) . after talking to him I felt comfortable about taking it there. He explained that there are more things other then the transmission that could cause the symptoms I was describing. Got it there, he took it, I left, he called within a few hours......he said it is not the transmission, it was the hydraulics on the brakes. Gave me the price, said he would start on it right away, called me couple hours later. problem solved. I took my car into the shop because the transmission was slipping. To make a long story short (because it can be very long) they ended up fixing the brakes on my car before giving me a price or how much anything would be to be fixed. Mind you the brakes we're never our concern,, it was the transmission. When I asked Karen about the transmission, she stated to me that it's not the transmission and it was the brakes and the calipers. I knew it was the transmission but since they are the Auto Experts, I listened. My first problem was the fact that I had paid for labor that was not discussed with me prior to fixing. To make things worse as soon as we picked up the car from the lot and drove it off the car continue to slip. I attempted to contact the lot the day of payment/pick up (April 2) to inform them about the issue that wasn't fixed. April 21st They told me to drop the car off but yet we couldn't get a specific date to drop the car off because they were not responding. Between the end of April all the way to August my wife, mother-in-law, and myself attempted to contact the company. Four months go by and I finally get a response via text message on August 18th, 2021. A guy by the name of Mike on the 24th of August call me to tell me that he test drove the car and realize that the transmission is slipping. He then told me he was going to discuss it with the owners and they would call me back the next day between the hours of 10:00 and 11 am. Karen spoke to me and said if I'm looking for them to put in the transmission, they don't fix Transmissions. I paid a company money to fix a transmission and not one time within the 5 months did anyone say they don't fix transmissions from the day that we initially took it there and told them our problem which was the transmission. They took our money to fix brakes which was not the initial problem. If brakes were the issue, I would have taken the car to another lot for that specific issue. Then brought the car back for the transmission. But the problem still stands they don't fix Transmissions or correction by Mike they can put in Transmissions, they just don't fix them. The owner says they do neither. I'm just finding this on on August 24th, 2021. Also to add the gentleman Mike who works there doesn't actually work there. They had a person who is not an actual employee test drive our vehicle. They scammed Us close to $1,000 for an issue which we did not bring a car in for. The owner even sent me a text message stating why they don't answer the phones because they put off answering the phones for years. I will gladly post a screenshot of that convo. It's from her cell phone number which is left at the end of the voicemail when you call the company. I recommend this company to absolutely no one
