It was ok. I found few items there but not really impressed especially since I walked 8 miles to get there.

With plenty of staff on…read morehand, every single customer is greeted and helped by sales assistants, and though I'm not usually one to enjoy such in your face service, at Sport Science it was necessary. With so many different shoes available for so many different types of sport and exercise, as well as issues regarding tread, rolling ankles and shin splints, without help it's impossible to know exactly which shoe is best suited to you. The assistants at Sport Science are fantastic. They're helpful, knowledgeable, personable and very friendly. Before you even begin looking at the shoes you are filmed running or walking down a short strip. Staff then analyse the footage and determine your walking/running style and thus which shoe is best suited to you. This process makes you feel as though you really are getting good service and the right equipment - something that's really important when you're spending so much money. If you are really into sports or, if you're like my mum and crazy enough to run marathons, Sport Science will sort you with everything you need from socks and shoes to tights, thermals, water belts and jackets. Bonus: Because Sport Science aren't a brand, they don't try to push you to buy any particular label - it's all based on what best caters to you as an individual.

Whenever I need a new pair of running shoes, I head straight over to Shoe Science in Mount Eden…read more All of the staff are always really well trained, and ensure that you leave the place with shoes that suit your feet the most (and if you go for a run and find out they are not right, then they have a policy that you can even bring them back within 30 days). They are also very well staffed, so when you do get service you get it in a really one-on-one way and for at least 20 minutes. And its always a bit of fun running up and down on the little runway they have with a camera, so you can see if you are pronating or not naturally and then if it still occurs in the shoes they've put you in. You can end up spending up to 300 dollars on a pair, however they do have a handy ambassador club which lets you get discount if you are a returning customer.

Easy peasy. Park right outside, don't have to deal with oodles of people and BOOM you're walking…read moreout with the perfect gift for yourself or the men in your life. I love boys tees, jumpers, jackets and hats so even though Arcade predominantly supplies men's clothing (with the exception of the beautiful Sunday Misfits range) I still manage to find something I love every time. I am a self professed Moreporks junkie so love that the beautiful NZ made brand is stocked here. The latest range of Arcade shirts are also made in NZ too as well as Sunday Misfits so there are options for the sustainable shoppers out there. They have also recently started selling second hand Polo gems that you wouldn't be able to find after hours of internet trawling. Other brands are quality labels from a variety of places sure to tempt your wallet. If you head to Mercs for the sushi make sure you take a stroll down Cross St to see what these gentlemen have on offer

Don't worry though - they look more threatening than they really are. Once you make it inside you'll see this is essentially, a clubhouse. A clubhouse that sells skateboards and street wear to be specific. The place doesn't so much cater to the fairer sex, but if you're anything like me and love men's clothes, you'll be fine. Arcade stocks (amongst others) the likes of ONLY NY, Vic and NZ's upwardly mobile Moreporks brand. Get amongst.

I think I've got a new favourite shop. I'm such a sucker for anything cute, kitsch and quirky and…read morethat's exactly what this shop is. Brand new to K Road, this store embodies everything I love about the area. I think their selection of necklaces is actually even nicer than the similar ones in Monster Threads just down the road, and I looove those! It's clear the owners of this store really think about what they're selling and who they're trying to sell it to. This is only a tiny little store but everything in here is covetable, from the tea sets to books to the array of vintage-inspired sunnies and dresses. It's out of the ordinary, beautiful clothing, jewellery and homewares. I've got my eye on a necklace and the super-cute stick-on animal wall decorations.
