We feel very fortunate to have found and been able to work with dRemodeling to renovate our kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Throughout the process we have been struck by the craftsmanship, attention to detail, excellent level of communication and clear desire to make us happy ("we just want to see you smile") that we have experienced. All of the other 5 star reviews have aptly captured the experience that we did, so I will not go into as great detail as I normally would. The design process was easy - our designer asked pertinent questions that helped us hone our visions and thoughts into reality. We felt seen and heard, in terms of defining our wants, needs, finances, etc. Demolition was extremely fast, and the teams made sure to keep the house as clean as possible throughout the entire process. Each person who worked on our house demonstrated a dedication to quality, and whenever an issue arose, it was rapidly addressed and remedied. The workmanship is noteworthy. When it came down to the final punch list, and fixing the minor details (I tend to be fastidious and overly observant about the detail work), there was no issue, and the work was beautifully completed. The billing and payment process is comprehensive, very clearcut and very easy to understand and follow from the outset, which also made the experience seamless. I would like to mention that dRemodeling has a cleaning team that they have clean the areas that have not only been worked on but also impacted by the construction. We found that they are now offering the cleaning team as a separate service, called dReal Deal Clean. It was a no-brainer to sign up for future ongoing cleaning services, knowing that they have the same ownership, and high standards. Firstly, want to give a personal shoutout to each person who worked on our kitchen, from beginning until it's final days (and I'm sorry if I missed anyone as there were a lot of people!): Amber Tri Vinnie Caio Justin Mircea Zu Pete Mikey Dan (owner) Teamwork makes the dream work--a true sentiment! My husband and I had been wanting to remodel our kitchen but the hardest part was finding an honest company with a great reputation and plentiful, honest reviews. I think I had a list of final 2 but dRemodeling won our business because everything is done by them. Our first meeting was with our assigned designer, Amber, and she is as talented as is patient and helpful. She was super transparent and explained the process from beginning to end. She walked us through pricing, options, timelines, and anything else that goes into a remodel. She kept in contact the entire process and was always a quick call/email away with answers to any additional questions that sprung to mind. What I really, really valued from dRemodeling was the fact that they have their own demo workers/installers. I did not want to work with a company that used 3rd party contractors because there isn't much liability. And it's really hard to find a GC and trust them to complete a job well done if it isn't a referral. Everyone that came through wore a company t-shirt, was professional and polite. Tri was our project manager and he was so goooood. He would check-in to the home regularly and ensure things were moving along and getting done the right way. We had an issue with getting our brand new counters into our city house but Tri was able to track down ample people to make it happen the day of! A true gem to say the least. Even when the project concluded, there were a few minor little things I noticed after-the-fact but it was immediately resolved the very next day (no delay, no questions asked, just a resolution). And lastly, Dan, the owner. I didn't have much interaction with him but he did call me mid-way through the project to ask for any feedback (both good and bad) and see how things were. It says a lot when an owner takes great pride in their businesses; I respect that immensely. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience that adhered to our budget (a little over but by own requests) and timeline. In fact, the project start time was able to be pushed up. I had my kitchen and bathroom remodeled last year. It turned out ok, definitely some things that were not sloppy at the end when they were just trying to finish. Floors are now uneven, seems are not finished, tile is sloppily placed in the bathroom. The timeline was not as promised, took an extra 2 months; which doesn't seem like that much but I live in a 1000sq condo--It was not a massive remodel. The project was delayed because they got the wrong permits which took and extra 3-4 weeks. I liked the designer I worked with (Emma I think). The manager for my project was absolutely awful at communicating and never reached out to let me know how the project was going and why there were delays-- except in two EMAILS. They would leave the basement door open and the back door unlocked. When we had the final checklist, my "manager" came in with about 10 things he thought they still needed to do, mine had over 40, including things like the trim that was not done. I really wanted to like this company since the designer was so great, but the construction part of the company I would not recommend. read more

We found dRemodeling to remodel our bathroom through Houzz.com which recommended 5 businesses. Only 2 of the 5 responded to my inquiries and dRemodeling was the only one that had someone answer the phone when I called. We are very satisfied with the process and the results. High quality workmanship - Because the house was so old, our project involved taking the old bathroom down to the joists. There wasn't a right angle in the place and they had to start by reframing the room with sister joists. It also involved removing the tub, moving the toilet, and replacing old radiators and electrical wiring. There was nothing this team couldn't do. And their attention to detail was extraordinary. We couldn't be happier with the results. Excellent design recommendations - We had some broad, vague ideas about what we wanted and their designer helped us choose a floor plan, tiles, and fixtures that updated the look of the bathroom, met modern building codes, and kept it consistent with the design of the house. We missed some of the details we requested (like the placement of the hand shower) and they did not make it into the design. However, overall, we didn't really appreciate what a benefit the design work was until some acquaintances proudly showed us their DIY bathrooms. Electronic automation - We appreciated the electronic process automation they used. Being able to receive and approve designs and pay invoices by email saved time and speeded up the process by not having to drive for in-person meetings or using snail mail. Project management - The unsung hero was the project manager who coordinated the delivery of all the materials and custom cabinets and the scheduling of all the staff so as to minimize the downtime we had without our only functioning shower. While the entire project took longer than planned, it was because we were waiting for suppliers to deliver materials and the dRemodeling team was working around our personal travel schedule. Professional staff - everyone we met who worked on our project was friendly and respectful. They were all hard workers. And every day they took the time to clean up when they were done. We hired Dan to transform our unfinished basement into a stunning family room with full bathroom. He and his team were spectacular at every step of the project and consistently exceeded our expectations. We appreciated that we were consulted when our plans suggested things that they believed would be better accomplished in another manner (most of the time they were right). We were also delighted by how shockingly little dirt and dust escaped into other parts of the house--particularly since much of the messy work was being done during the year end holidays (plus Tudor, the foreman, won the affection of our teenager by refusing to crowd up her room to store building supplies over Christmas--even though that meant the team had to be extra creative in figuring out where to place things in our compact city row house). dRemodeling does good work, at a good value. I recommend them highly (and kind of miss seeing the team now that they are done...). read more

We recently had our kitchen remodeled. The project came out great however the road to get here was painful. Starting with our designer Julia who, when she bothered responding, had the worst communication. There was an issue with our refrigerator - after she emailed us stating that we want a counter depth that is not what she ended up ordering. Claiming no responsibility for this despite me having emails proving the error was with her I was left to pay a $500 removal fee with them taking absolutely no responsibility for the error. At that point we had spent so much money I just wanted the project finished but the fact that she couldn't even take ownership that she was in the wrong with this error just shows the continued lack of customer service. I should also say that they first quoted me a removal fee that was half this price because they didn't bother checking this before giving me the quote. This was on top of numerous other issues we had with her along with the fact that our project manager showed up 3 maybe 4 times during the 11 weeks of work. I feel very taken by them as I'm sure I paid for this project manager in my labor costs. There are several other issues & things that came up with Julia, too many to list here. The work they did may be great but to me if I feel like I'm being taken advantage of and if you lack in customer service that doesn't matter. Or maybe if you work with another designer you will have a better experience. I have a bathroom remodel coming up and I will be looking for someone else to do this work after this experience. read more

This was a complete bathroom remodel in a small, oddly shaped, and far from squared off (house was built in 1894) room. The room was brought all the way down to lathe and then built up again into a completely modern bathroom, including a glass enclosed shower with pebble tiles on floor and wall. A particularly nice touch was glass block over a former window in the shower area that lets in loads of light. The total job (not including the shower glass) took about 16 days, which was fine because this was not our primary bathroom. During construction, the workmen consulted me on nearly every choice point (in particular, we spent a long time deciding how wide the shower needed to be), but after a while that was barely necessary because I had complete confidence that they were going to do the best job they possibly could. I, in turn, consulted them on many design and aesthetic issues. They came up with creative solutions to issues related to the room shape (e.g. matching tiles on straight and slanted walls) and installed everything exactly according to my instructions. This was by far the most pleasant contracting experience we have ever had. You know how there is a point in a project where no matter how good your relationship with the contractor, you're both just totally fed up with each other. That never happened on this job. read more

My wife and I hired Dan to do a complete rehab of our kitchen. From the time we sent our 1st email for an estimate until the final complimentary cleaning, Dan was with us every step of the way and easily accessible. We met a few times to take pictures and go over floor plans. Once we had everything ordered and finalized, his crew came in a few weeks later. They arrived by 830am and were there until about 4pm on average. They did work Saturday, only with our approval. For as messy as redoing a kitchen can be, Dan's men did their best to contain everything and keep our house somewhat intact. This was no small task. Walls were knocked down. Ancient electrical service was replaced. A door was sealed off and a new one installed in place of a window and radiator. The end product was better than we expected and even better than the portfolio we used to pick dRmodeling. We are in the process of sending pictures and creating a budget to do our bathroom next. I had waited a long time to renovate my 1989 all laminate salmon-colored kitchen. After reading many reviews on many sites I chose DRemodeling to do the work. We worked together to get the perfect design for the space. The designer was very responsive and all of my needs and ideas were worked into the design. The construction process was fairly painless and the team was always responsive to any issues that arose. I now have my dream kitchen and couldn't be happier with the whole process. read more

Dan came to my house in June 2017, took some measurements and photos and said he would email me an estimate. He sent me a full contract with quotes for "good" "better" and "best" for materials in my kitchen remodel and a separate quote for labor non inclusive of any "upgrades". To meet with a designer I would need to sign a contract and give a 5% deposit and I had to decide by a certain date. I was having difficulty finding contractors that were available. Everyone is so busy so that is why I signed. This was my first mistake. Never sign if you're not sure or if given a deadline. It took forever to meet with the designer. The first meeting she was not prepared, no photos,no measurements. It was extremely awkward as she sketched some basic drawings. I met with this designer a couple more times in their office. She sent me renderings however she NEVER came to my house. Renderings included proposed materials. The designer materials were extremely expensive and included changes to my lighting and electrical plans. I had already completed some electrical work with new lighting when I bought the house and I didn't want to change that given that I had spent a lot of money. I felt like I was always trying to keep her in my budget as she liked to show me materials that were very expensive. I showed her countless pictures of vintage cottage kitchens however her final design felt sterile. When I asked Dan if I could meet with another designer he sent me over someone who was quite awesome. She came to my house and understood the vintage cottage kitchen of my dreams. However the quote for labor to bring my kitchen ( and potentially an added bathroom) to fruition was outrageous. (Several quotes later, Dans quote remains the highest quote). Furthermore, to change designers would have an added cost. I decided to move forward with another company ( a 5 star rating with better business bureau) with many good current reviews on yelp, severing ties with Dan. He informed me my deposit was non refundable. So this is a warning to all. Ask to meet the designer and know who you are doing business with. I would give Stephanie (the 2nd designer I wish I had) 5 stars but the business as a whole... just 1 Star. read more

dRomodeling did a complete renovation of my bathroom in 2016 and I'm happy to report I still love it two years later. Being the first major renovation job I've experienced, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the whole process was relatively smooth save for a few communication hiccups here and there. No serious complaints from me, though. The job took about two weeks longer than proposed, but that's to be expected. We used dRemodeling for our bathroom renovation --- it was a complete gut job and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. They helped us elevate our expectations for what the space could be and took my Pinterest board and turned it into reality. Everyone was extremely professional from choosing the design & materials, gutting the space and the contractors that put it all back together --- even better than we imagined. I work from home, so I probably got to know everyone more than most people and they were always respectful and professional. Even my dog was excited to see them each day! I will also say that while 99% of things went well, we did have a design hiccup and they addressed the issue promptly and professionally --- we emailed them at 6PM and had a response from Dan and Ashley that same evening. To top it off, Ashley was at our house the next morning with the Contractor to talk things through and get everyone on the same page. This went a long way with us and made us feel even more comfortable with everything that they were doing. We can't recommend them enough and we are looking forward to using them again for our next project --- a powder room on our first floor. read more

After getting a few estimates on a bathroom remodel, I decided to go with DRemodeling because they were extremely thorough and detailed on their estimate. Plus they were the only business that addressed the nature of the problem rather than simply cover it up (a rotted wood frame in the shower area and old termite damage, etc). While I worked together with Devin upfront, once the actual renovation was underway, Dan provided timely weekly updates noting accruing expenses as well as any changes made to the project. Everyone who worked on the project was professional and talented. The team that did the actual demolition and construction was fabulous! Each had their areas of expertise (demolition, construction, painting, tiling, installation, etc) , and on occasion they all showed up together in an extremely coordinated manner eg: to get the new cast iron tub upstairs. The final result is wonderful. I now have a full-frosted window that streams in sunlight but affords privacy, the aesthetic is beautiful. Mario did an amazing job on the tile work and the travertine trim as well as installation of new fixtures and lighting. And Dan made a good call to take out the old slanted tiling in the window area of the shower and install a granite shelf. I love the space, and would not hesitate to use DRemodeling for a future project, or to refer to friends and neighbors. read more
