As I'm kicking around in the daisy's, big dog has other ideas of a hoot and a holler. He jailbreaks at an unsuspecting hound, a sizable hound at that, tall leggy proportions, trim at the quarters -- thinner necked and bigger headed. Catastrophe averted somehow and the AstroTurf is the closest replica to real grass, stringy as this breed might be - which it is. Like Poa Anna turf that's prominent in Hawaii. And we continued on towards the main soccer field the grass field looked quite the same with exceptional bounce and spring, I felt the decathloner in me and bounced along to the other side. With it's understandably poor upkeep, ya know -- cutbacks, cutbacks, the park has a spirit to it, like a drunkard whose not been home for a day or so and is in bad need of a shower, a shave and a change of clothes.

There are huge enclosed fields, some with artificial turf for soccer. I saw people running track, exercising and walking their dogs. It is a Loop trail, I started at the parking lot and went around the front through the little walkway that leads to the fields. I let my dog into a giant field where the gat can be closed and let her run. Then we walked towards the water and you see a trail start. A little ominous on a cloudy day and not many people but we kept going. The trail goes along the water line. Carcasses of boats along the coast probably from Sandy but interesting to see. Trail loops back to the parking lot. Not a hike but a nice walk, we did 1.41 miles. The only thing I didn't like was not a bench anywhere along the trail. I have a dachshund that likes to sit on benches when she's getting tired. I have to say it's pretty clean! Olive usually finds every chicken bone or other garbage, she found none here so it was a good walk. I'm using bending down twenty times to pull something out of her mouth Nice place to exercise your dog in the field, clean, garbage cans along the trail. I'll be going back.

We took a long walk by the beach, which was kind of dirty, so before we left, we filled 4 garbage cans and clean the beach a little. There is a project there, trying to populate the clamps that used to live here, but disappeared (Due to pollution is my guess). Lots of seagulls, green and water. Come to visit, and when you leave, please take some garbage from the beach, it is for all of us!

There are a lot of amenities, but the park could definitely be kept up more. We painted the benches along the lake and cleaned the track. The lake is dirty and not very pretty, but the park is nice, would be better with more upkeep.

There is a small hill for kids to ride their scooters and bikes up and down the park. Park encircled the entrance way to BeltParkway and is a walking distance from and to the train station. Park is kept clean with a few trash cans on the sides near the basketball court. My only complaint is that there are not enough shady areas or benches for people to sit under. Especially in the sweltering heat, a shaded area would definitely be nice. Overall, a nice park

A full day of outdoor activities comprising from sea to land which includes kayaking and biking bring my travels to Bensonhurst Park in Brooklyn with a friend. A city operated park composing 17.50 acres which lack basic amenities as two water fountain exists where children hogged them to create mindless water balloons. The water pressure at the water fountains are extremely weak to dispel any decent sprout to lean over with your mouth. Facilities are available where the sink faucets barely function, nevertheless I was able to intake water with my hands to form a cup. I was dying for a cool down from my near death experience of re-learning how to ride a bicycle after numerous fall crashes and sustained bruises. I've never biked with gears on a chain in this capacity of my cycling realm. Grounds are not smooth for biking especially for the beginner learner as myself, but I was able to sustain airborne for four measly blocks!! Chess tables and benches are available along with the common problem of vagrants inhabiting to claim refuge as their abode. The air residue salt water coming from Brooklyn's Bath Beach.

Not sure on the field conditions but there are working water fountains in the dugouts. No bathroom is located at this park. The gem is the trail that borders the park. Great up close and personal views of Coney Island Creek. Various interesting wrecks provide a home for water life. From time to time fisherman or birdwatchers are around. There are homeless who occasional build tent like shelters. They never bothered me, sure does it take away form a picturesque view, yes. But this Americana at its finest, the good, bad and ugly. This park reminds be of what a disaster zone would look like in an urban environment or would scenery for a zombie apocalypse. There are still gritty parts of New York. This is it if you're into it.

This is a nice spot to catch the sunset. It has a small beach compared to Coney Island. Since it is…read morenot as well known, the beach is much quieter. The beach isn't maintained as well as Coney Island either. However, you can catch the beautiful sunset. There is also a pier for people to do fishing. I also saw people walk into the water to do fishing with a fishing pole or a net. There are some very tiny fishes that can be caught with net fishing. There are also some people who appear to be camping there. I wouldn't suggest going late in the evening since there are fewer people and it's a bit sketchier when it's dark.

Thaks to Coreolis forces, sand is deposited at this spot, and thus a broad, sandy beach has resulted. Killer views of Lower New York Bay offer a respite from the urban jungle. Basically un-developed and maintained wild. No facilties, so make the necessary arrangements if you choose this spot to picnic, fish, or just unwind. No lifeguards, so tread carefully if going for a dip.
