The owner, Cameron, used to be a mechanic, and auto body worker, so in addition to his lawn services and snow plowing (both of which we have used, successfully), I would imagine you could also use him for mechanic's services. His integrity? Well, last winter, when he was plowing our driveway, he accidentally backed into the right rear corner of my car, which was parked outside, creating a significant dent. RIGHT AWAY, without hesitation, he told me about it AND offered to repair it at no cost (which he did, once the weather warmed up a bit). Looks as good as new. Now THAT is Integrity! I have a feeling he hasn't advertised a whole lot, so you may not have heard of this company; I urge you to give him a shot for lawn care, snowplowing, and maybe even car repair. He's a good man.

In turns out, this was not as difficult as I thought it would be, given the AirBnB world we live in. However, I needed a trustworthy service not for occasional renters, but for elderly parents who look at their home and lawn and landscaping every day. After explaining my dilemma to owner Esteven, he made me and my folks a priority. After calling on 6 services, Artisan was the first to call back and showed empathy to what I needed to do. Where others said it'd be a week or 2 before they could visit the property to do their assessment, Esteven was there by week's end, and came back the very next day to mow, edge, trim and clean-up. My Dad watched with skepticism that anyone could do the job he does (did). They won a hearty 2-thumbs up from Dad. And my stress level has been lowered.

We had an extremely disappointing experience with Pro Turf due to their poor communication, lack of…read moreprofessionalism, and failure to honor our contract. Our contract specifically stated that we wanted hydroseeding. We sent multiple pictures clearly showing the yard, so they understood exactly what we needed. Despite this, Dave, the owner, took it upon himself to decide that we didn't need hydroseeding and went ahead with a different service without ever discussing it with us or getting our approval. It's incredibly frustrating to have an owner completely disregard what was agreed upon in a contract and make that decision for the homeowner. They also added erosion control to the small hills, even though we did not believe it was necessary. This was another concern that should have been discussed with us before any decisions were made or additional services were considered. Communication throughout the entire process was terrible. We specifically requested advance notice before they arrived because we have a dog and needed to make arrangements. We also asked whether our vehicles needed to be moved and were told no. Yet somehow, hydroseed still ended up all over our cars. When the crew arrived, the young workers never even knocked on our door to let us know they were there. They simply showed up and started spraying. Had they taken a minute to communicate with us, we could have made sure our dog was safely inside and our vehicles were moved. To make matters worse, we weren't given instructions on how to properly care for the lawn until DAYS after the work had already been completed. Proper aftercare is extremely important, and we were left without the information we needed. We were also told the netting they used was biodegradable, only to discover that it wasn't. This left us having to spend our own time and effort pulling up all of the netting and hay ourselves. The most frustrating part of this entire experience is that so many of these issues could have been avoided with basic communication and by simply honoring the contract. We made our expectations clear from the beginning, provided pictures, asked questions, and tried to be proactive. Unfortunately, Pro Turf still chose to do things their own way without consulting us. When you hire professionals, you expect them to listen to their customers, respect their property, and deliver the service that was agreed upon and paid for. We did not receive that level of service. I would not recommend Pro Turf based on our experience. Between Dave making decisions without our approval, the lack of communication, the unnecessary erosion-control proposal, the mess left on our vehicles, the delayed care instructions, and the additional cleanup we were forced to handle ourselves, this entire experience was unacceptable.

This company showed nothing but disrespect and shoddy work. They never showed up on time, from…read morehours to days. They would show up at 9 O'clock at night, instead of 3 O'clock in the afternoon. One time they were to show up at 2 O'clock and texted two times they would be late, but never showed. I got a text full of apologies the next morning; they texted 2 times delaying the e.t.a.; they never showed up. I got another apology filled text the 3rd morning They eventuality showed up late afternoon, 2 days late. Because they mowed mostly in the dusk and dark, the grass was mowed unevenly. Some places were missed completely over and over, some spots were scalped. I over paid for the job that was done. They used a Z to cut the front yard. It was too big to leave an even pattern, an even cut, and even mowing pattern. It left a swirling look to the yard. If I didn't remind them to move items, to mow under them, grass would grow out of control. I had to remind them to use the weed eater around trees, the mailbox, the utility pole and spots i could see in the dusk or dark. Clearly the money I paid was too much compared to the aggravation, quality of work, and lack of respect i got. I should have ended it long ago, but I got so many sincere sounding apologies, I thought they are good boys, they'll turn it around. Turns out they aren't good boys. I fired them in a text, so they could read it. I hope they aren't screwing with anyone else, especially another senior citizen on a fixed income.
