Helen WU, the travel agency is a very bad and not responsible!
Shady Business!!!!!!! Not even worth a star. You will put yourself in high risk if you purchase travel package from her or her company!
We bought a 8-day Jiuzhaigou trip from Helen Wu, Dream Travel.
On the day of arrival at Chengdu, there was a man came to us and introduced himself as tourist guide for our 8 days Jiuzhaigou trip. This tourist guide didn't tell us his full name or show any proof of documents. Then he immediately requested us to give him all of our passports. He said he will need to keep all the passports overnight for hotel check in, and he will return the passports back to us the next day. We told him we can't let him to keep our passports. We will wait in line for the hotel check in and get our passports back after the check in. The tourist guide became very angry and impatient.
The tourist guide then took out a piece of paper and said that this is the new itinerary agreement. He threatened us that if we don't agree and sign the new itinerary agreement and pay the $120 USD per person to him for the optional programs, he will cancel our 8 days Jiuzhaigou trip and will not let us to check in to the hotel. The local tourist guide was not only changing all the sites on the new itinerary, he also tried to make the $120 per person optional programs to be mandatory.
We took out our original itinerary that we agreed on when we paid for our travel package in San Francisco to compare. The new itinerary agreement that the local tourist guide gave us was totally different than our original itinerary. The local tourist guide took out all the famous site visits like Jiuzhaigou, which should be the main site we want to go for our travel package. The local tourist guide took out all sites that we want to visit on our original itinerary that we paid, and he put in all the shopping places he wanted to take us to see to make his commissions. The local tourist guide also said that our San Francisco travel agent mis-communicated with us regarding the itinerary, that's not his problem. He said that Jiuzhaigou was closed, he will not take us to there, and we need to follow his instruction if we want to continue our trip. (The next morning, we founded that the tourist guide lied to us that Jiuzhaigou was closed. The local taxi driver that we hired to Chengdu airport told us that Jiuzhaigou was opened.)
We then called back to San Francisco and talked to Helen Wu from Dream travel. Helen said that the original itinerary we purchased from her was right, and we don't have to join the optional programs which cost $120 USD per person. We asked Helen to talk to the local tourist guide. The local tourist guide passed the phone backed to us after he talked to Helen. Helen told us that she already talked to the local tourist guide not to force us to join the $120 optional programs. The local tourist guide became very angry after he passed the phone back to us. He was raising his voice to yell at us and pounded the table angrily. He almost tried to hit my uncle. I stopped the local tourist guide to doing so. Helen was still on the phone, I told Helen that she needed to resolve this issue for us, but she ignored my request. Helen put my phone call on hold and ignore me, and I heard that she was continuing to assist her clients at San Francisco. Helen was extremely unhelpful. She didn't help me to resolve this emergency issue; instead, she ignored me and left all of us in a very unsafe situation. Since Helen was not helping me and answering me, I handed off the phone call with her after 30 minutes of waiting.
The local tourist guide still extremely rude and continued to threaten and force us to sign his new itinerary agreement and force us to join the $120 optional programs. He then asked us again to give him all of our passports to check in the hotel first. Given such bad circumference, we were so concern our safety to start the trip with him. We decided not to check in to his hotel rooms due to the local tourist guide's bad attitude and illegal actions. Then local tourist guide left and left us in the hotel lobby, and it's around 1:30am on 3/21/2019 in the morning. We took more than 15 hours flight, we were extremely tired and hungry already. read more
