We hired Shawn and his staff to DJ and MC our wedding and it was the biggest mistake. Our reception…read morewas utterly ruined because of their lack of professionalism, attention and consideration. The worst part is, I have known Shawn since middle school and mistakenly assumed he would pay special attention and take extra care to ensure my wedding reception would go as smoothly as possible. I wasn't expecting perfect but I certainly wasn't prepared for the disaster I got. We emailed Shawn a link including the song meant to be played for the mother son dance, not only did he play the completely wrong version despite being provided the correct one, my husband and his mom were called to the dance floor just to stand there for 3 minutes while no music was played at all while they tried to figure it out and it was only after the MC came up to my husband to ask what song it was did the dance start, I have video evidence of this. Additionally they either didn't play or played the incorrect songs of a list of several songs we provided via email that we wanted played for our guests due to their significance and meaning. You would THINK that calling upon our best man and maid of honor for speeches was simply a given at a wedding but no, these people decided to make the unilateral decision to simply not do it! So we got no speeches or toasts at our wedding and I couldn't even do anything about it because of the horror that was to follow. The tribute. It was meant for my husbands deceased grandmother. I made it crystal clear to Shawn that this tribute was to be played at the beginning of the reception prior to the mother son dance. I was VERY specific in my details (have written proof of those as well). I made it expressly clear that this had to take place early on to give my husband time to bounce back from the emotional toll it will surely take on him allowing him to then enjoy the rest of the party with no disruption. One of my guests had to get up and help Shawn and his staff get the video montage for the tribute up on the screen, several of my guests witnesses their utter confusion of being able to do so, it's like they have never done this before! A voice mail from my husbands grandmother was meant to be played during the tribute and was left out. Later, well into the party, while everyone was having fun and dancing, Shawn came up to me and asked me if he should play the voicemail since it was accidentally left out and I said absolutely not. He agreed. Yet somehow, about 30 min after this conversation and while everyone was dancing and having a good time, they played the voicemail! My husband collapsed to the floor sobbing uncontrollably and that was basically the end of our good time. I pulled Shawn into another room to talk to him and find out what the F was going on. Why so many mistakes and why the F he played that voice mail after I specifically said not to and he told me that he played the voicemail because my husbands mother told him to. Firstly, she never would but mainly, even if she did, Shawn's responsibility was to ME, the Bride and the person paying him and no one else. He did apologize repeatedly but no amount of I'm sorry was going to fix our party. By the time my husband calmed down and I finished reprimanding someone who I thought was a professional, our party was essentially ruined. We had no choice but to keep going, we spent tens of thousands of dollars, we still had a ton of food being served, we had other guests who flew in from all over the country for this event, we had to make the best of it. For most women their wedding reception memories are filled with love and laughter, dancing, loving words and advice from close friends and family members. They are some of the happiest memories. Mine are filled with tears, disappointment and regret for hiring these incompetent people to handle such an important event. Do NOT hire them if you have anything as significant as a wedding to memorialize. If this is the kind of service they provide to someone they considered a friend just imagine what they'll do to you.

I don't want to smash the whole business but if I could give 0 stars for Shawn it would be done…read more His lack of professionalism in addition to his highly arrogant rude and inappropriate behavior caused many issues at a wedding he was the dj at this past weekend. It's a shame that what appappears to be a family business is being so poorly represented. He messed up the ceremony by playing all the wrong songs after being extremely and unnecessarily rude to the groom and his groomsmen right off the bat. Then he spent more time at the bar taking shots and harassing the women verbally and physically than he did doing his job for reception. He went on to refuse songs to be played for parents of the bride and groom, left out important parts of the reception..there was no bouquet toss done... bridal party had to remind him for speeches, none of the Playlist was played. He acted like this was his club or he was on some MTV show. It was all about him. Then when he wanted to leave he told us in order to stay he needed an additional $400 plus tip up front for 1 hour extra.. turns out that was NOT the case so I got scammed out of that money. Steer clear of him if you want yours or your family's day to be special.
