The weather was perfect, our 3 year old granddaughter took a shine to Captain Jeremy right away and even went "up top" to sit with him while he steered! Jeremy was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and he got us to where we needed to be for a fabulous sunset. Liz excelled with taking care of every need of us the guests. They supplied beverages of many varieties and Liz prepared and presented the food that we brought for our cruise. We had a friend with us that was afraid of water, not able to swim, and Liz checked in her regularly to make sure she was comfortable. My dad booked us a Deep Sea Fishing trip with Capt. Andersons in Panama City. We hadn't been in…read moreclose to 30 years so I was excited. We opted for the 10 Hour Trip (2 hours out, ~6 hours of fishing, 2 hours back). Quick edit: we only had ~26 people fishing and I'm thankful for that! It was coooooold the morning of and it had stormed the previous two days. Thankfully we were prepared. I'd recommend bringing a book bag or light sack with: sunscreen, hat, glasses, long sleeve shirt/hoodie, Gatorade, rain jacket and change of shirt. They do provide sunscreen, medicine, food, snacks and drinks onboard for a cost (see my menu photos). It was ROUGH going out, thanks to the storms leaving. We hit 5-6 foot waves and it was bumpy on some parts. I almost lost my stomach and went to the back of the boat for fresh hair for the last 45 minutes going out. There were a few people who got really sick. Make sure you clean your system out before getting on the boat (ie: get your out) because the two bathrooms are tiny. We were assigned fishing spots (dad got us back of the boat) and had buckets of squid ready to go. Capt would hit his horn, letting you know it was time to drop the line in. You'd pretty much either get something right away or nothing. It didn't take long to get the hang of it: drop to the bottom, reel twice up, keep the line tight, jerk the rod when you feel a nibble, reel up and check rod pressure to ensure you got something. It's a very quick process! One thing you'll notice is the different arm muscles you'll use. I caught the only Grouper for this trip and it certainly tired my wrist out. I literally got a Charlie horse in my wrist and toe after hauling that sucker onboard. It wasn't Red Snapper season (June 1st) but my dad caught 3 huge Red Snappers. We got to keep 10 B-Liners each, and also caught some white snapper. Overall, we hit our limit and caught extra for others on the boat. The helpers did an awesome job! The ride coming back in was pleasant and we sat on top of the boat. It was a fun experience! Make sure to tip the Captain and your helper! Great crew and they got the job done! There is also a fish cleaning place at the dock that'll fillet the fish for you at $.80/lb.

We went out from a private boat ramp in downtown Apalachicola before sunrise, and we caught fish. We jumped a huge tarpon and caught redfish, speckled trout, spanish mackerel, flounder, jacks, blue runners and even a huge gar. Capt. Jared adapted to changing tide conditions, went where the fish were biting, and we had a great time. Capt. I've been on several dolphin tours and this one was hands down the best! The company strategically uses two "boats" that creates these awesome waves that the dolphins love to play in. There were drinks and snacks available for purchase and music playing on the speakers as you watched for the sweet dolphins which really made it feel like a party on the waves. We were encouraged to get up and walk the boat as well. The captain and other crew were very informative and eager to answer any and all questions about the excursion. There is a little gift shop to purchase items and a photo opp before boarding that's optional. Your picture is given to you when you exit if you choose to purchase it. To be honest, I don't remember the cost of the trip but I don't think it was super expensive. I enjoyed everything about this excursion and look forward to going on it again on my next trip to PCB!

Was it worth what they paid? For me, this was the highlight of our two week Florida vacation. We started out in Key West and traveled all the way up to the panhandle. We ran into someone who recommended this service. My wife and I met the owner John at the dock. John and his beautiful wife took us out and showed us the amazing Florida coast line. This again was the highlight of our vacation and I can't put into words how amazing this trip was for us. The memories that we will take away from this trip we will have for a lifetime. If you are in the Panama City area and you want to see the beauty that Florida has to offer I highly recommend this yacht excursion. Not only did John and his beautiful wife take us out for the day and show us the Florida coastline but they referred us to some of the great restaurants in the Panama City. After boat ride we had dinner at uncle Ernie's restaurant and we are so thankful that they referred us to a local favorite.
