I have engaged Dream Makers for two large outdoor living space projects at two homes I have owned in the Denver area. In both instances, they have done a great job with designing the possibilities for my space. The first project was a covered patio and entryway on the front of my house in 2010. For this project, Dream Makers was able to complete the project on time and on budget. They even came back to level out some pavers that had settled months later. For this project, I would give them the highest rating. My most recent project is an addition to my home of an A-frame with a fireplace and this project is still underway as of February 2023, but nearing completion and the addition to my home will make outdoor living possible in a space that was otherwise under-utilized. Dream Makers has worked hard to keep my current project moving, but they are way behind schedule. Initially, the project was estimated to take 8-10 weeks. It has currently been over 6 months and we are still not completed. Some of this has to do with materials availability, but the timeline has been frustrating. The end result will certainly be worth it. In my experience with Dream Makers over the past 13 years, I have seen them move towards more high-end projects in recent years and their competition in the Denver area market is DesignScapes and Designs by Sundown. When I began my project, I contacted each company and I was ignored by one of the competitors and the other one told me that my project would require $8,500-$15,000 up front just for a consultation and plans... Dream Makers, on the other hand was happy to communicate with me and work with me over a long period of time to design the right high-end landscaping and outdoor living space for my home. read more

Dream Fakers is a terrible company and has poor ownership. They do not stand behind their work. The communication within the company is bad. They tell you that they will be back to fix stuff and they don't. The gate they installed is not consistent and they won't fix it. They blamed us for breaking it when it has had problem from the beginning. They say they will come back with more plans and they don't. They did a good job on the patio but that's it. Fencing is poor. They charged us $100 a plant, which cost between $5 - $15 at Home Depot. They charged us over $100 a rock/boulder just to move, we already had them all on our property. They planted three trees that they told us were all blue spruce and they were not (confirmed by the next landscaping company that came in). After they tilled the ground, the weeds came back immediately. Overall landscaping, which is in their name, was terrible. We had to call in another landscaping company to fix the majority of our property. We would definitely not recommend Dream Fakers if it was the only landscaping company in Colorado. read more

Likewise experience as some others on here. Design work - you'll end up with a quote and some renderings. The quotes will be incredibly vague. It's hard to believe you get a scope of work with a quote for thousands and thousands of dollars on only 1-5 sheets of paper. Design work does not include any engineering prints you'd need for greater than 4 ft retaining walls or anything like that. You're basically buying a sketch with measurements only. Pricing - Way overpriced in comparison to others from what I have seen thus far. I have received quotes from other companies that are 20% under Dream Makers using the exact same material. Can't speak to their construction work. I will say though - their design work was pretty nice and we will be using it. read more

I will try to be brief and factual here...don't use Dream Makers Landscape for any Outdoor Living & Design work. Our experience started fine - nice guy, good presentation, nice examples of work on his i-pad. Upon him leaving the house, both my wife know we heard "we could pretty much get the stuff we wanted for our budget". It was $50K. Then, it went South pretty hard. When our designer showed back up, he had renderings of an OK design (nothing that wow'd us) that was missing a fire pit (one of our must have's). While not being wow'd and missing a critical feature is not a capital offense...showing up with a quote for nearly 3X our budget is darn near one. In a nutshell, we felt swindled for our $1200 design fee. We were that far off budget to quote. It was almost comical. We said $50K...we heard sounds like a "good budget"...we saw a design without a key feature for $140K. After sharing my feelings, I simply asked that they "do the right thing" and return our design fee money. They refused...I asked again...they refused...I now write. For what it's worth...be careful. read more

Dream Makers designed and built a patio for me and I couldn't be happier with the results. They created a backyard haven that my wife and I enjoy every day. This company has a great frontman but design is unimaginative, way overpriced and most of all they didn't do what I asked them to, which was to remove existing gravel mulch, clay, and amend soil to make it good for planting. They covered everything with weed barrier and mulch and when I went to plant this spring I was digging out rocks and clay down to six-eight inches deep. If you want a landscaping company that actually will prepare your soil to support life don't use these guys. It's all decorative with them and extremely pricy. read more

We recently had Dream Makers finish our back yard and give the front of our home a little more appeal. The company and all their employees handled themselves very professionally. They showed up on schedule and cleaned up each night before leaving. They offer a computerized design so you can visualize the project before they begin. Our finished project matched the design perfectly. The price may come in higher than other landscapers but the quality of work is top notch. I would highly recommend this company. read more

So my backyard was a mess and I called these guys to help me design a backyard. It's a pretty small backyard, a tree or 2 needed to be removed and the yard needed to be graded so that we could put sod in. This guy came out and quoted me $1000 just for blueprints on the yard. Like I said it's a pretty small yard and I really don't need blueprints I just need grass put in. He then change the price to $500 for blueprints. At this point I knew I was being swindled because like I said I don't think blueprints are needed. But I patiently waited for his quote. When I finally got his quote I was blown away out the price. He wanted to charge me $20,000 for a little bit of grass and the sprinkler system. Just put it in perspective I called another company and asked for a quote. Their quote was $2000. I don't know if this guy just didn't want to waste his time doing such a boring small yard but $20,000 is pretty ridiculous. read more

These guys were great from start to finish! And then some. We used Dream Makers for an outdoor kitchen, patio and fire-pit. The team was great throughout the project and unlike most contractors that I have worked with with they did everything they said they would WHEN they said they would. At one point they promised me the granite would be finished by the end of the week; I was skeptical when on Sunday it still wasn't done, but sure enough as promised on Sunday afternoon the granite guy showed up and completed the work. We did have a problem about 8 months after completion when a sprinkler line under the patio burst and started leaking / gushing. They had someone out the next day to take a look and within 3 days fixed the problem by taking out some of the patio, repairing the sprinkler and resurfacing the patio again (all at no-cost as it was under warranty).
