The view is gorgeous and the space in the large cabin is very accommodating. Our only thoughts are that we wish that they had more resources in terms of cleaning. Thick layers of dust and rings around the carpets by the walls are covered with dirt. Our cabin had multiple dead bugs and the main lodge had very stained carpets. Bring garbage bags as none are emptied during your stay and towels are not replenished. We also found the male staff on sight to be very rude and aggressive. As I said at the start, a large family get together easily made this a lovely stay and we didn't feel uncomfortable at anytime. We would stay again but with the information gained in mind.

You don't come to The Rocky Inn for the thread count. This is not the Ritz, and it sure as hell…read moreisn't trying to be - if it is, it's defintely the Ritz caracker then. It's a two-story log fortress of fatigue--part motel, part monument to Canada's working backbone. Out front, pickup trucks - so many pick up trucks - didn't know it was part of the Canadian Citizen requirement for BC. Off the side of the road, mud-streaked semis hunker down like beasts in a rest before the next long haul. Inside, men who build and break the land--the loggers, the pipeline crews, the lifeblood of this country--find a bed, a shower, and a bit of peace before the alarm clock screams them back to the grind. The room? Spartan, but honest. The bed's about as forgiving as the logs stacked outside town--solid, unbending, and liable to remind you of every vertebra you own - and some you may have rented. But the shower? Oh, the shower redeems it all. A glorious torrent of water pressure that could peel bark off a cedar. It's hot, steady, and strong, and for a few minutes, you forget where you are. The TV works. The channels are plenty. The bathroom's been given a facelift--modern fixtures that whisper someone cared, at least for a moment. You won't find artisanal soaps (just some plastic pouches with non-descript words on the package) or minibar gin here, but you'll get a clean towel, a working lock, and a front-row seat to the hum of the highway. This is a way-station, not a destination. A place that exists between places, where men with calloused hands and sore backs trade hours of sleep for another day's living. It's rough, it's real, and it serves its purpose. Just don't expect to wake up without a few new aches. OUCH.. Cheers.

The cute flower boxes in front of each unit were sadly empty and the front landscaping seems to be neglected. The rooms were clean and serviceable but we couldn't get our TV to work so that was a bit of a disappointment. The current ownership shouldn't rely on past excellent reviews and they need to put in a bit more effort to bring this place back up to snuff.
