Shelby is an actual wedding day makeup goddess!!! I don't even know where to start with this review…read morebecause it's difficult to put into words just how amazing and incredibly talented she is. When I was planning for my original wedding for 10/10/20, I reached out to Shelby (WELL in advance) but sadly she was already booked. Fast forward to peak covid, we made the decision to postpone the wedding to 10/23/21 and the only vendor that wasn't able to accommodate our new date was the MUA I previously hired. I immediately reached out to Shelby for the 2nd time, hopeful that she'd be available for the new date, and she was! I knew it was meant to be so I hired her on the spot before doing my trial. I was an out of town bride so we ended up doing a trial a few months later when I was visiting for the weekend and she made all of my wedding makeup dreams come true. I'm a makeup lover and wanted FULL GLAM for the big day and Shelby delivered 1000%! On top of her extremely talented makeup skills, she is incredibly sweet, has the best energy/so fun to be with and we hit it off instantly. I even decided to do a 2nd trial/glam sesh when I was in town again a couple months before the wedding, just because! Shelby recently opened up her own makeup glam bar/studio Toniq, and we decided to use the studio to get ready on wedding day. It was literally a dream! Toniq is THE most fabulous studio ever and I still can't even believe we had such an amazing location to get ready. We had 9 girls total for both makeup & hair and more than enough space for all of us to glam, and set up breakfast and drinks. Shelby is incredibly accommodating - provided ice, drink coolers, and even surprised us all with babe rosè (which of course we had to use in our getting ready photoshoot)! When we arrived, she already had the music playing and the mood was set for the best glam day ever. Again, it was literally a dream! If you are getting married in San Diego and have the option to get ready at Toniq, I absolutely recommend it. Our getting ready photos are better than I ever imagined and look like they belong in a bridal magazine! Shelby - thank you for everything! Postponing our wedding was challenging, but I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I'll be forever thankful & grateful to have had you as our MUA. There are simply not enough words to express my gratitude, but I'm so happy I had the chance to work with you and now have so many amazing photos and videos to relive all of the best moments getting glammed with my girls for the big day. These memories will last a lifetime and you truly made me feel like the most beautiful bride (not to mention, my makeup lasted ALL day & night - through A LOT of tears and endless dancing)! My entire bridal party felt the same about their makeup and we all just love and adore you!

Shelby was so quick to respond to my inquiry, she was able to fit me in her schedule, as she was already booked with a morning appointment and my photoshoot was in the afternoon. Shelby's studio was stunning and so clean! I've never gotten my makeup professionally done so well in my life. I was able to show Shelby a few inspo pics and she worked wonders on my face! I was so incredibly happy with the outcome from her use of high quality products and overall knowledge of her craft, Shelby delivered! Thank you for such a great experience, Shelby seriously ladies, do not hesitate to book with her, you won't be disappointed!

I chose Brittany based off her reviews and I am SO GLAD I did! I am not a huge makeup enthusiast so…read moreI was looking for an expert who was versatile, could do natural glam, a soft and romantic look, and most importantly had good vibes. Brittany exceeded my expectations. She was responsive, kind, calming, affordable, and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I did the trial run (no regrets) and Brittany came to my home. We went over makeup options, different hair options, and veil placement options. She asked lots of questions to make sure I was comfortable with everything, her skincare prep was fabulous and my makeup looked great! She spent the time to go over each step and customized my look based on my feedback. She's a true natural and was able to take my confusing feedback and turn it into exactly what I was envisioning. On the wedding day, Brittany was such a calm and happy presence in the room. My whole family loved her. We changed a few things we had gone over at the trial, and she remembered everything! Even things I had forgotten mentioning. That meant a lot to me. Brittany truly cares about her clients and it's clear she takes her job seriously. Most people in the wedding industry just treat you like another number but Brittany was the only person in the whole process who treated me like me. Brittany also did my 13 year old's hair and makeup for the wedding. I was worried about her looking too mature but Brittany did her makeup so perfectly, it just highlighted her features in such a soft, natural way... I was honestly speechless. I'm an anxious worrier but I never had to give a second thought to my hair/makeup/veil. Brittany added body glow and left behind a little touch up kit that had everything I needed. She even helped my mom with her makeup and lashes and squeezed in a friend who needed last minute hair and makeup services. My hair and makeup lasted all night, looked fabulous, and I felt like a star. I would hire Brittany again in a heartbeat to do anything makeup or hair related. She is truly an expert in her craft and her passion shows. In all the crazy hecticness of the wedding world - Brittany was the one of my favorite parts.

They were super efficient and they made it so fun and easy in the morning. The makeup itself was really light and didn't feel cake-y at all. I'm really glad I had the makeup trial with Hien and hair with Metzli beforehand too. I am a zero makeup user day to day so I was looking for something minimal while still having it stand out enough for people to know I am the bride. Communication through email and text only- Hien was very responsive so there were no issues or miscommunications. I would definitely recommend Hien if you're looking for someone who's not heavy handed with their makeup looks! Unless that's something you're going for, she can pull that off too!

I sent her an email to inquire about her availability and she responded the next day. Hien only does makeup and she collaborates with another artist to style hair. Hien was the only point of contact and so all questions were directed to her for both hair and makeup. Hien was friendly, professional, and quick to respond to any of my questions throughout the entire process. I scheduled my trial with her on the day of my engagement photo shoot and LOVED how my makeup turned out. She assesses how comfortable you are with makeup and asks what your preferences are so that she can get a sense of what would be most suitable. I really appreciated that she provided suggestions on what to do if I were to cry or if my skin got oily. By the end of the day, my makeup still looked great despite sweating a little from running around on the beach. On the day of the wedding, she came on time at 7AM and set up all of her things very quickly. Hien and Metzli did HMU for my mom, the groom's mom, and myself. They were able to finish hair and makeup for all three of us by 10AM as promised, and everyone was very happy with their look. My mom even said that her makeup looked better compared to when she had her makeup done for my brother's wedding a few years ago. My makeup still looked great even after all the sweating I did from dancing by the end of the night. I would absolutely recommend Hien to anyone looking to get their makeup done for any occasion

In my research of other makeup artists, I noticed that Jennifer had a keen eye for color matching foundation to a person's skin tone and was very observant when it came to undertones across different ethnicities. I found that her color matching for me was absolutely perfect and completely undetectable. She is also extremely receptive to feedback if you would like to change anything about your makeup or hair, and she is truly a master of her art. I have oily skin and typically need to blot every 2-3 hours, so I was honestly shocked by how long my makeup lasted. The way Jennifer set my face allowed my makeup to last 15+ hours with minimal oil coming through at all. I received compliments throughout the entire night that my makeup didn't look heavy and that I still looked like myself. I highly recommend Jennifer for your makeup and hair needs!

I had heard about her through mutual friends and community. I'm really glad that I got to work with her for my wedding. She is dedicated to her craft and really talented. I am always nervous about working with others who may not be as well versed in my Asian facial structure and hair, but I did not have to worry at all with JP Charming! I did book a trial with Chi Hang so that I could get a feel of what I liked and would want on my special day. I was able to match this up with my engagement photoshoot. Chi Hang talked me through the whole process of my hair and make up. She also asked me a lot of questions to see what I liked and what I wanted to aim for. This was helpful as she was building my profile for my wedding day. I was torn between a half-up, half-down and a low bun. Turns out, I can have both! On the wedding day, the base would be half-up, half-down and then turned into a low bun. The low bun would be for the ceremony and then turn into a half-up, half-down for the reception by taking out some bobby pins! On the wedding day, Chi Hang and her team were right on time and ready to go at 6:00 AM! I absolutely loved the two gals she brought with her: Pari and Lucy. My sister is usually so quiet, shy, and not super into doing hair and makeup. But I could hear her laughing and chit chatting away. I know my girls felt at ease working with Chi Hang, Pari, and Lucy. They really take into consideration what their clients want and make it happen! My mom was very impressed and whew, it can be hard to impress her. The whole process was very well organized and timely. She had sent me a spreadsheet of the breakdowns of who does what and what at time. We were on schedule, which was a relief to me because I have been a part of a wedding party where one of the bridesmaids was missing from the tea ceremony due to the makeup artist miscalculating timing. My wedding was the end of August so it was still very hot out! However, my hair and makeup stayed great throughout the whole day. She gave me a little kit to help touch up any pieces. It was such a sweet touch. I'm so grateful that I went with JP Charming for my wedding! She is so kind and really wants to know what you like. It makes it easier for people like me who sometimes have a hard time speaking my thoughts. Thank you for everything, Chi Hang! If you're looking for a A+++ team, look no further than JP Charming!

What I also appreciate is how wonderfully she integrated the minor changes I wanted to make from my trial to the actual wedding, and how beautifully it all turned out. She was truly mindful of all the details I requested and in my moments of "I don't know what do you think looks good", she made the best selections for me.
