They have found the delicate balance between incompetency and evil. When the housing unit was being repeatedly broken into due to poor security, the residents were blamed and threatened. It was common to be overcharged and mischarged for things that they hoped you wouldn't notice. And when I requested proof of residency paperwork so that I could move into a new apartment, this manager denied that her fax machines were working until I physically placed my cell phone in her hand so that my new landlord could walk her through the steps--at which point the machine magically started working again so that she could kick me out of the office. I always recommend others to come to DRC if they're looking for a rental, and here's why: They're very easygoing-you can even pay rent in cash if needed. The maintenance is kind and attentive, with quick easy fixes. They never come calling unless there is a big issue, or if you ask them to. They don't require renter's insurance unlike other places, so it's good for college students. Many of their rentals have most, if not all utilities included in the rent sum. read more

The worst. They were taking to court for entering a tenants apartment without their permission and lost. They over charge for maintenance work and don't follow through with tenant complaints. It's amazing they stay in business I'm sorry to say. If you're looking for a place to rent try other avenues first. Try Century 21 or Valley Realty. The best. Very professional and the #1 property managers in La Grande. They have the in-house expertise to handle any repairs and issues that arise. You'll hear some complaints of course. Irresponsible renters wanting exceptions to their rental agreements will be disappointed with DRC's. read more

I have had the worst experience with DRC Storage in the past year. First I fill out a work order for them to fix the lock on my storage the lady said if and when they get to it they will call you. 5 months later still not fixed I again fill out a work order. A couple months later my storage unit gets broken into. The management (Darcy Bloom) did not really care that this had happened to me. The maintenance guy was a lot of help getting the video to the police. Second I paid my storage rent in a check and then I get a notice saying I did not pay my rent. So I had to go hunt down the check to prove that I did pay my storage rent. Lastly a couple weeks after I had knee surgery I sent my daughter with cash mind you to pay my storage rent. I told her make sure you get a receipt the lady would not give my daughter a receipt even with me telling her it was ok over the phone. She said because it has a lot of personal information on it. So I had to hobble myself down to the office and pay it so I could get a receipt. I looked at the receipt and it has nothing but my name on the receipt which when my child goes down there and gives my name and storage unit not really seeing the point of all that and I told her how I felt about it. 2 days later I get a notice of termination for absolutely no reason given on the termination. I do not trust the management at all. read more

The most unethical business in the area by far. My rental experience has been absolutely terrible with DRC. Even worse to say that I know about 20 other people who could say the exact same for the abysmal service that DRC calls property management. I'm sorry to say but no one deserves the treatment they give their tenants. I previously rented from them and was told I had to move out because my roommate was leaving under some strange paperwork rule but they had not even bother to tell me until about 20 days so I had to be out. Then when I simply asked for clarification upon their policies the owner screamed at me on the phone and then when I enter their business and ask to see the paperwork proving this she told me she would not look it up and I had to leave the business. Absolutely horrible owners and if you're thinking about renting in La Grande I would say far away from them! As a recent graduate from business school it's sad to see someone run a business so far into the ground and still operate. read more

I have had all but negative experiences dealing with the management at DRC. I rented from them for a full year at one of their complexes, and any time we had a maintenence problem, they were quite rude. Our chimney needed to be cleared out and they yelled at my roommates and I telling us we must have been "burning things that shouldn't have been burned." We had a plumbing issue with the sink and they yelled at us for "putting things down the drain that shouldn't be there." We had no idea what they were referring to on either of these occasions, and I feel their anger and impatience was stemmed purely from the fact that we were college students. They spoke down to us when we talked to them in person, and blamed us for issues with their units that were out of our control. I have never seen a business that practices age discrimination so harshly and as a sensitive person, I have been extremely hurt by this treatment. read more
