There are loads and loads of shops in the Quadrant like HMV, Game , W H smiths , Clinton cards and Debenhams. It can get pretty packed out with shoppers at peak times and especially with the run up to christmas. At christmas there is usually a lovely christmas tree with lots of decorations which make it look really nice. The shopping centre always looks clean and tidy and you will always find a cleaner pottering around.

Shops you find in every town in Britain. The Quadrant itself is quite pleasant though, it has a predominently glass roof which allows it to be very bright and airy inside. There's a gallery cafe which looks out on to the main concourse of the shopping centre which is great for people watching. The bus station also comes out of one end, so finding it is very easy, and also you won't have far to carry bags to get a bus. Or even to get to your car if you choose to park in the NCP which also adjoins the Quadrant. You can also get to Swansea Market via an entrance in the Quadrant. The largest store by far is Debehams, which is a large department store and takes up almost an entire wing of its own. ANECDOTE: I was sick on the doors of Debehams one Christmas as I was shopping for presents and very rapidly came down with a virus. There are public toilets (free) upstairs which are clean and well maintained. The buidling is decorated according to the seasons, and a large Christmas tree is the focus during the winter.

Upstairs is a restaurant that is well frequented by locals looking for a quiet break in the middle of their shopping. It is a higher end store and therfore tends to be quite pricy but it is well alid out with an great selection of products.

There are always really friendly staff here who are happy to advice you on what products are best for you, they also let you sample the fragrances. The you will get to the clothes and shoes. Then at the very back of the store they have the bits you can buy for your house like plates, kettles, and glasses etc.. I do find some of the bit a a bit expensive but you can see they are good quality. Then to the left of the shop they sell craft stuff such as wool for knitting, cross stitches, patterns etc.. There is a another entrance door here so if you are just after buying some wool you can go in this way. Upstairs there is more clothes and underwear for sale and there is a big cafe. They sell some lovely food in the cafe we often go there when we have been shopping and need to sit down.

My favourite shop is the bookshop which sells everything from childrens books to cookery books and also stationery items, photo albums etc. There are several things for children including a small indoor soft play area and an outside wooden pirate's ship. Unfortunately you have to pay for this which I think is a shame. There are a couple of places to eat but I find it too expensive and would rather pop over to the nearby Asda. I would say Atlantic Village is somewhere to go on a rainy day if you've run out of things to do. I'm hoping some bigger names will take advantage of the many empty shops available.

What can't you buy here is the question... A member of our party described it as the Alton Towers of shopping. The amount of eating establishments here is certainly reminiscent of a theme park. The kiddie rides outside are very dated. I've no idea how much they cost. A bizarre amount of wild fowl on the premises too. The whole place is mad. Worth a look if you are passing it's door.

There HAD BEEN, but unfortunately it has since been closed. Don't worry, there is still a cafe here, a local assured us. Just go into the hardware store, turn right, and keep walking. And yes! Eventually we did find the cafe. They didn't have a huge selection of soft drinks, which is an understatement, and they definitely were not COLD soft drinks. And they didn't have our first choices of entrees (the hunter's chicken and the madras chicken), or our second choices (the madras vegetables). But they did have fish and chips: two choices here, in fact. So we ordered a couple fish & chips and a plaice (a kind of fish) and chips. Prices seemed reasonable; the kind of prices you might expect in a cafe inside a hardware store. There are some large oil paintings inside the dining area - huge oil paintings featuring the founder of the mill, who seems like...a rather bizarre person. Oh, and I feel like I should mention that there are no toilets where the cafe is now in the hardware store, you have to walk back to the other building, where the cafe was when it was a cafe, to find them. Anyway, eventually we were served our fishes and chipses by a somewhat dazed and confused server. And the food was fine. Definitely reminiscent of Long John Silver's style in the US, to me. But the real joy here was laughing with our relatives about our experiences here and I'm sure we will be enjoying this for years and years to come. And that's really more important than what we had to eat or little things like that. And oh, I did like that they had bottles of malt vinegar on the table. Much more convenient than in other places, where you have to poke around in the packets of "tomato" and "brown sauce" (whatever that is) to find the thing you are looking for.

I bought super awesome metallic car floor mats for 10 quids(about $17-20) which probably has at least $50 value, and also bought an ipod charger for mere 3 quids($5-6)! You rock, Trago Mills!!! The largest store is Morrison Supermarket and there is also an Argos Extra, Currys, Carpet Right, Homebase, Comet, Benson's Beds, and others. Very useful, especially if you're shopping for the home.

We visited the Barnstaple store this week to look for a suit for my husband to wear to our…read moredaughters wedding this summer and we were very surprised to find that men's suits are no longer stocked here now, apparently, there isn't enough room for suits now that the home department has been enlarged, I would rather order home lines online than have to keep ordering suits! but were told that suits are available online where we can order. Well, we prefer to come into a store and see things displayed, colours, style choices and sizes to try on at leisure. We don't want to order several suits online, we would much prefer to see them on sale in the store and I 'm afraid that we have bought a suit else where, off the peg! I am otherwise pretty pleased with Barnstaple store but for reasons being the 'suit issue' I can only give one star.

I love this shop there are so many bargains to get. Outside the store they have lots of baskets…read morewith things for sale like bin liners etc. In the summer they have stuff for the beach outside like wind breaks. Inside the shop there is a variety of stuff for your house like: cleaning products, tea towels, tools and lots more. They also have a small amount of toys that will keep your child entertained, there also ideal for party bags. There only cheap and simple like colouring books, pretend makeup and plastic jewellery and at the back of the shop they have bigger items like bins, laundry baskets etc.. They also have lights that you can buy like the disco ball, optic lights and other fun ones. The stuff in the factory shop is very cheap most things are not much more then a pound, the bigger stuff costs slightly more though.The quality of the stuff isn't brilliant but you expect that becuase of the price, but it still does the job.
