It starts out as a father's legacy, played by Peter S. Adams as Mr. Price of " Price and Sons shoe manufacturer ". His passing left the company and his legacy to his son Charlie Price, played by the talented Brandon Wong, struggling to come to grips what to do. From the moment KINKY BOOTS , it started, the whole theatre guests were receptive and riveted in their seats. Each ensemble cast member performed their part on point and with great ease. The main character appeared as an adult "LOLA", played by Gilbert Dabady, elevated the energy level of her character level to a new high! Totally enjoyed the performance! Very convincing! "LOLA", grabbed the audience attention and did not let it go and commanded the stage along with "Charlie Price", played by BRANDON WONG. His powerful voice and acting made for a very entertaining scene! IT WAS A HUGE TREAT TO WITNESS SUCH TALENT, Thank you! This Production of KINKY BOOTS, by DIRECTOR ZOE BRADFORD, has made a huge mark in the Theatre Industry and her Productions are LEGENDARY! Thank you for your devotion to the theatre and this Non-Profit Company to bring the Best Productions in the South Shore for its Community and beyond! Book by HARVEY FIESTEIN, Music & Lyrics by CINDY LAUPER! My last review is for the Talented Orchestra who tied the whole Production together under the DIRECTOR of Robert Mc Donough! THANK YOU ALL!, This Production of " KINKY BOOTS ", educated us all what Acceptance and Unity can do. Love it!

Harbor Stage Company - A scene from 2015's "A Doll's House"

Harbor Stage Company

I saw My Dinner With Andre at the Harbor Stage Company theater last night, Saturday, March 29 and…read moreas the movie did to me so many years ago, I was riveted by the depth of the fundamental conversations about life, death, and the meaning of our fragile existence. The intimate setting of the theater, about which much of the conversations in the play was about, created a warm personal atmosphere among the 60 or so who had this great experience. I had a lovely conversation about life's purpose with a young lady Victoria afterwards where we shared our love for the play and for the work of Virginia Woolf who also touches so deeply and beautifully life's wonder and sad fragility. Yes, we should have more great art like this to inspire us to cherish and strive to perfect, not our foolish facades, but the reality of community of all our ghost-like souls who struggle so hard during this short time on earth to find love, meaning and happiness. Thank you actors and playwrights who made this possible. The folks who worked there were also so friendly and welcoming. The actors were superb. I was amazed at how they could remember so many lines of the wonderful convoluted conversations. I wish more people could see this play. It is a magical combination of humor and philosophical depth about what truly matters in life.

This is the kind of place I want to see theatre. I saw "A Doll's House" at Harbor Stage and I had…read moresuch a great experience. At the heart of it was, of course, the actors. Talented professionals (with serious credits, all of them). Clearly with their heart in their work. The company has a really interesting combination of plays, which seems to be the pattern from year to year: a classical play (A Doll's House this year), a brand new play (an original play inspired by miners), and a contemporary play (Detroit, nominated for the Pulitzer last year maybe?). Added bonus was the physical environment of the "Har-Bar"--the lobby of the theatre (wine, beer, coffee and tea) that looks out to the harbor. And the harbor itself. (The theatre is aptly named.) Steps outside are benches to take in the view. There are a couple of places to eat in walking distance. There's a sit down place next door and a take out window at Mac's seafood for sitting on benches next to the harbor. I also loved the volunteers. I got to the theatre early because I had never been there and wanted to check out the space. There was a positive "buzz" from everyone there. There seemed to be a real sense of not only happy to be there, but proud to be a part of this company. So cool.
