Newport Gwent Dragons are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union clubs, alongside Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Scarlets. They were formed in 2003 when Welsh club rugby was entirely restructured, a merger between existing clubs Ebbw Vale and Newport. They currently play in the Magners League, against the other three pro Welsh sides, plus leading clubs from Scotland, Ireland and, from the 2010-11 season, Italy. They have the worst record of any Welsh side currently in the league and have so far failed to finish any higher than third. Arguably their most impressive performance came in the 2006-07 season when they reached the European Challenge Cup semi-finals. They have never, however, managed to go beyond the group stages of either the Heineken Cup or the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Newport Gwent Dragons currently play their home games at Rodney Parade, with plans to build a new 15,000 stadium in the future, costing in the region of £40m. read more

Make sure your plans don't change, as they don't offer refunds on tickets, and also don't tell you this until it's too late.
