We would see Westwind Gardens anytime we drive through Somersworth. Kept saying we should stop by…read moreand from the outside you would not expect what's going on inside. Beautiful In October we needed boutonnières for our wedding and needed to find a specific color rose for a center piece. We stopped in and met the owner and the team. They were so nice and professional. They took the time to ask us what we were looking for in our boutonnières and took our order. They also were able to find the roses we were looking for and had them ordered and delivered on time for our wedding. We asked if they could order holiday roping/garland for our house. They could, so we ordered it in time for our holiday decorations. They looked awesome and comparable pricing to other stores. We were so impressed with Westwind because they are all professional and offer great customer service. Prior to the holidays we received a beautiful display as a thank you and congratulations for our wedding. It was a wonderful, but not needed, gesture. We used it as our family dinner centerpiece. We are weeks after the delivery of the flowers and the roping and they are still looking great. Apologies for my delayed review. Please stop by and check out what Westwind Gardens has to offer. Thank you.

Long story short: Westwind Gardens delivered within two hours, called before they delivered a…read morebouquet with the flowers I requested. They left it on porch because both of my parents were contagious. How could you expect better service? Lisa answered the phone and was really sweet. After a tiny florist shop closed in South Berwick Maine I had very low expectations and doubted I could find a florist who could deliver a cheerful, fresh, and beautiful bouquet to my parents. If a loved one deserves amazing flowers and you are in a state far away, it is sad because you just want to bring them there yourself. Because I have sent flowers to South Berwick for the past twenty five years I have an understanding what I'd like to pay for the service. When the shop was in the same town, $50 seemed logical. This time I splurged for $75 because it is a little bit over a five mile drive from the shop to my parents. Don't get me wrong, I send flowers as often as needed and visit in person as often as I can afford! I live out of state now, and officially, "from away," as some Mainers might say. I'm grateful I have found a new florist who I can trust in a pinch.

She had lots of really creative ideas, especially taking us out for a moment before she left to take some night pictures. Amy and Karina were never in the way, but when I found a group of friends I wanted a photo with at the reception, I would turn around and they were always there and ready! I described to Amy how we didn't want to just capture the "traditional" wedding photos, but also plenty of candid photos of our guests, and she was extremely open and receptive to that. We fell instantly in love with the incredible ocean view, the beautiful interior, the out-of-this world food, and with Mary, the on-site wedding coordinator. A month has passed since our wedding, and my husband and I are honestly a little sad we no longer have an excuse to interact with Mary. She has coordinated weddings at the Reading Room for years, and is a master. There is no detail that escapes her inquiry. She will ask about set up, timelines, preferences, food, flowers, and will coordinate with all your vendors. My husband and I pride ourselves on being detail oriented, but we were surprised by the things that had escaped our attention that revealed themselves during discussions with Mary. But more than just details, Mary is a joy to work with. She is kind and funny, and it is obvious that even after dozens of weddings, she really enjoys them. In fact, Mary seemed to enjoy our wedding day as much as us. You will not be disappointed by the York Harbor Reading Room. We highly recommend it.
