She was extremely responsive and would even have us send her things we liked from Instagram for inspiration. Every time we got off the phone with her we would look at each other and say "I'm so glad we have Melanie on our team." She kept us on-budget and helped us understand what it was worth it to spend on as we searched for venues, caterers, bands, flowers, and more. During the wedding week and weekend, Melanie kept everyone calm and on-task. She made sure all the tents, tables, chairs, etc were delivered on-time and everyone was where they should be. She took care of all the "little things" that we didn't think of and even coordinated our rehearsal. The event was beautiful, and we owe a lot of that to Melanie's tasteful suggestions. (She also let us borrow a lot of her own things like signs and a cake stand.) When we reached out to the One Hundred Club and spoke with the Director of Events, Lisa Sammons, she turned what was a difficult decision into one of the easiest. We were immediately impressed by her professionalism and warm demeanor and decided to have our reception at the club. After the location was finalized, Lisa unexpectedly volunteered to assist in finding area vendors. When planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to have a local theme. The search for florists and bakeries went from an impersonal Google search to specific recommendations from Lisa, none of which we would have been able to find on our. Her network and knowledge of vendors in the area allowed us to secure vendors providing exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because the wedding planner realized, at the last minute, that the draping near the door wouldn't work as it was set. I was surprised that Robin didn't realize this before she left. The bride and the wedding planner moved some things around and it worked perfectly. They would not return our deposit after covid caused us to cancel our 2020 wedding plans (due to…read morestate laws, not our own choice). Their justification was that they gave us until the next year to reschedule, but that's not an option for many couples and wasn't an option for us. This was the only vendor we worked with that wouldn't refund the money. We even gave them time to refund us and a year later still wouldn't budge. I understand how in general the wedding industry won't return deposits because they lost a day where they could have had another wedding, but this was clearly not the case. I would have tried legal action but the deposit amount wasn't worth it (and I'm sure the company knew this too). They took one of the most difficult situations of our lives and made it worse.
