I was just going to leave a single star, but yelp won't let me escape without leaving a comment, so…read morehere goes...... I wasted 9 years as a student here. What did learn there????? This school has two types of students. The "talent".......... And "everyone else" Everyone else exists to keep the mortgage/bills paid so the instructor can have the luxury of playing with his star student. (He even admitted a couple of times that if he was rich he would only take elite students who could pass a ninja warrior style obstacle course, but he can't afford it so that's why he takes all students.) Also, when you do beg for support (if you can grab his attention long enough) you WILL be told "the details don't matter." Unless you have talent of course.......... Even if you show up for class 5 - 6 days a week, every week, including 2 times a day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, AND attend all the extra Saturday seminars, (yes I took 7 classes a week - 8 any time there was a seminar) you only have value if you are talented. (*He has actually said that he will spend extra time going over all the little details *** yes, the details he told me "didn't matter" *** if the student is hard working **AND** talented.) By all means, if you are elite athlete-level talented, are able to learn something after being shown only once, or can completely and perfectly memorize an entire routine in an afternoon, (and therefore have value) this is the place for you...... However, if you struggle with any of these, even a little bit, (especially if you show any signs of a lack of natural talent) be prepared to be treated as an inconvenience and an afterthought. *****And if you call him out on the double standards and special treatment for certain students, you will be branded as difficult and disobedient. AND he will resort to personal attacks about your body and any health conditions you may be struggling with.***** So if you think you are talented enough for him to pay any real attention to you, OR you enjoy having every last shred of your self esteem completely destroyed, this is the place for you. Good luck.

MIke is a great guy and all the people there are extremely friendly and motivating. Couldn't ask for a better spot to get fit and feel good. Highly recommend all classes.

I'm really surprised that there are bad reviews of this gym. It's really open, not super-crowded,…read moreaffordable and far cleaner than a previous Boston-area "boutique" gym I used to belong to. No Jersey-shore wannabe "trainers" trying to sell their services while you try to work out. They offer a good variety of classes, and I don't feel too intimidated, as a woman, to participate. The customer service I've received has been very courteous and professional. I'm an adult, and read contracts before signing them, so I know that if I want to break the contract, I'll pay a fine. (This is a real contract, people and the gym has every right to require it as it is a real business.) Equipment is plentiful and well-maintained, there's always parking available, etc. If you are trying to train for pro- MMA or boxing, I don't understand why you couldn't do it here... you only get what you put in. Don't blame the gym, blame yourself. Also, yes; women, EVEN MOMS do use this gym. We make up 50% of the world's population, so yes, some of us will be at "your" gym. GTFO "gentlemen".

Came here to defend after seeing all the negative reviews. My 4 stars are not saying it's in the…read moresame league as a Boston Sports Club or high-end luxury gym, but for its price point, Best Fitness is fantastic. Plenty of cardio and weights equipment, all functioning well, with plenty of duplication so you're not waiting for a machine, and a clean facility with music at the right level. The "extras" like towel service, soap and shampoo, and things like pools and saunas aren't included, but it's a "value" gym, and for my $30 monthly fee, I feel like I'm getting a great value. As for ending the membership, they are up front on sign-up that there's a two-year commitment or you pay an additional fee, so I wouldn't expect that to be waived. Finally, a shout-out to Kim at the front desk on weekday mornings, who greets each member by name and exudes positive energy to start the day. She always finds ways to spruce up the club between check-ins and is a great ambassador.
