Brought my daughter in to try a sample class and she fell in love with the class. She usually doesn't like to try new sports, but it's such an active mixture of martial arts that it's been able to keep her attention. As a bonus, she's usually exhausted by the end of the class and has used up all that excess active kid energy. Sa Buhm Nim Nathan and Courtney have also been great at instilling a sense of respect, confidence, and dedication to hard work in such a short time. Our kiddo turned 5 in August and, after spending a year and a half in quarantine & being new to this area, we really were hoping to introduce him to some structure and these classes have everything we wanted. He's responded so well and talks almost every day about martial arts class. He respects all the teachers so much and I'm almost shocked at how serious he gets when it's time to pay attention and learn the exercises. The school itself is lovely, we're around two weeks into our experience here and there's a great community vibe. I was a student of master Nathen back when I was in high school. I learned many valuable life skills along with the traditional martial arts that kuk sool teaches. I left the school when I Decided to enlist in the military. While I was in I sustained various injuries including falling off a 20 foot ladder which sprained my hip, and caused multiple injuries to my back and legs. After leaving the military I found it painful to sit or stand long periods of time.my mobility overall was horrible. I decided to rejoin kuk sool and found that master Nathen was teaching here in sylmar. I have been here for a little over a year now and the various stretches , falling, and techniques that I have been doing have helped exponentially with my recovery. I am now able to sit or stand for longer periods with no pain. I am also able to do jump kicks, cartwheels, and jumping falls with no pain at all.
