Good info but the Draft House is in Battersea, not Clapham... (as is the rest of SW11).

Review Highlights - Draft House

I'm biased but I felt the general feeling was that the scotch egg is as good as it gets.

I had the lamb burger which was great, being there on a Tuesday meant any draft beer was on the house with burger purchased. Score! There are other offers on other days of the week. Be sure to check them out on their website menu! The sound is great in the theatre room, clear and crisp. It's difficult to get seating if you're late, so try to get here early if coming for one of the acoustic nights. There's a fair selection of good beers and the place seems friendly overall. In all a nice place to relax and close to the nearby railway/underground station

The menu is brilliant and at not too much of a costly price (the chips are definitely recommended), it is brilliant for a group looking for an entertaining evening out. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights are the best for comedy (the weekends showcase the more renowned comedians with the Banana Cabaret). On some evenings you don't even have to pay to listen to the bands and artists but the staff are pretty strict on keeping talking to the minimum which is absolutely fair enough. In between music, comedy and cabaret they also hold Swing Dance and Tango classes! A great excuse to head to South London. Oh, and ladies - the men always seem to be rather good looking in here!

This is one of my favourite London pubs. It has so much character it's almost selfish. The owner…read morehas collected all sorts of bits and bobs over the years - from a life-size Sinatra cut-out to a surfboard and stuffed ferret - and crammed them into the pub - on the walls, hanging from the ceiling, in every available space. You may even find yourself sitting at a table that doubles up as an old-school sewing machine! You'll be entertained merely from gazing at the mesmerising array of curiosities - I notice something new on every visit. Added to that it's a wonderfully cosy, comfortable place with a real local feel despite its prime location. It's a wonder to me that it doesn't get over-run with the Clapham crowd - perhaps it's too "out-there" for that. Either way I'm not complaining, I love the POW POW POW (as it's neon sign proclaims) exactly as it is, although I must say Christmastime is best there - even more decorations! And I must mention the pizza: this is a new addition to the pub and used to be the menu at the Rose and Crown across the road. Oregano, a local pizza delivery now serves pizza on request at the POW and the quality is amazing - real wood-fired style with interesting toppings. My fav is the Funghi.

Thus went for a bottle of Wyld Wood cider, which was pretty nice. Was slightly shaken by the sight in the mirror of a man approaching me from behind in the urinals while undoing his zipper. He claimed short sightedness but I think a large measure of drunkeness may also have been involved. You can order in pizza from a local takeaway. If anyone saw the excellent recent documentary about 80s comedy, presented by Ben Elton, this is where Ben and Rik Mayall chatted over tea. POW POW POW!

South London certainly has a few good drinking establishments to its credit. Be At One or B@1 if…read moreyou talk in text talk, is one of these and you are always sure to have a fun time in here. I have been a few times after work and no matter what day of the week there is always a real lively atmosphere and everyone is up for a party! They serve a cool selection of cocktails and myself having a terribly sweet tooth, I always go for the ice-cream based ones (try the Irish Disco Biscuit) which are calorific but delicious. I would try and opt for cocktails during happy hour though as they are fairly expensive outside of that at £6.50 each. It does attract a young crowd and if you get easily annoyed by groups of people singing along to cheesy music, it probably isn't the ideal place for you. Good tunes, friendly people and fab atmosphere.

B@1. No, despite what you might think (and I did at first too), it's not a dingy internet café…read more It's, for lack of a better description, London's answer to karaoke bars. The dress code is casual, the atmosphere loud, hyper energetic, and in your face, and the drinks will get you in the singing mood in no time. Keep your eye out for the specials board as these will not only be good value for money but you are likely to get them served in record time since it's the bartenders' pick of the day. Don't be shy about belting one out if your favourite tune comes out over the speakers. The music mix may also be up to the barstaff as it can be quite eclectic with Linkin Park smashing out one minute and a softer Beatles ballad the next. I've also got to give credit to the barman for making 24 mojitos in one go to satisfy our pub golf group. I'd recommend buying your bartender a drink or two early on in the night. I've found that no matter when I go or even to which B@1, the bartenders love a good drink and will take care of you if you are willing to include them in a couple of rounds. I've even managed to get jaegerbombs passed over a crowd. So listen when I say - GET YOUR BARTENDER A DRINK! Plus, drunk bartenders are a little more generous with the pouring so really everyone is a winner. Overall, it's a good place to start a fun night out. Only problem is sometimes you just don't want to leave.

I tired to eat a Sunday Roast here but I couldn't score a ressie when they dropped at 2am US time…read more Luckily, they drop ressies a few at a time, so after my 3rd attempt, I was able to get a ressie for a regular dining time during the two weeks I'm in London. Sadly, no Sunday Roast for me but let me assure you the regular dining is worth it to get! So if you don't score a Sunday, grab another date! Our lunch today was absolutely the best food we have eaten in London! We ordered the Waygu Steak, roasted carrots, sea bass, fried chips, and a potted shrimp starter. They also passed out delectable rolls (the kind you could eat 3 of before you forget you got other stuff coming) and of course, they have beer!! They are known for pouring the most Guinness in London but let me tell you their Timothy British pint is just as good! So get both! So I have to say the scores here are wrong. Having tried another pub rated the same score as Devonshire and experiencing The Devonshire you can see that what your reading on Yelp isn't truly representative of how good the food is. Service and wait can go any which way in a given day but let me tell you everything we ate was just absolutely delicious. I need to know the recipe for those carrots. And the duck fries and that Waygu steak. Basically, I'm still thinking about my lunch! And I want to know how to get into the special grill room? lol Anyway, I don't get to London very much anymore but if I do return, this is the pub I'm returning to eat and drink at! Oh! I almost forgot! Order two of The Sticky Toffee puddings!! You'll thank me later.
