Of course I feel stronger with more energy as well. Secondly, it seems like every time I start a committed fitness program I get injured. I am so competitive with myself, and in my youth I was so invincible. Of course as I age, and I still play tennis quite a bit, my joints do not bounce back as quickly. So when I first started with these guys my meniscus tear on my knee starting hurting a bit. They quickly changed my exercises and I was able to continue with no pain. I am now back into the grove. There are so many times I tell them I would not be there if I did not have the appointment, or I would have stopped 5 reps earlier if I was doing it on my own. I so recommend weight lifting and a personal trainer for everyone. It is the key to a positive outlook on life and a strong and healthy body!

I canceled my membership in August 2025. I found out recently that I was still being charged. I…read morereached out to my bank and had them put a cancel on the payment. I also reached out to the 800 number and spoke to a customer service rep. This individual was extremely rude, snarky, and not helpful at all. He told me that if I don't make the payment that he would put me in collections, and it would hurt my credit score. He also continued to ask me if I had any type of proof that I canceled my membership. The phone conversation ended up with me hanging up on him. 10 minutes later I start receiving multiple text messages from planet fitness telling me that I owed them membership dues. This was followed up with an email from planet fitness saying that there is a $20 late charge for a membership that I canceled last year. I went to the club and spoke with an employee and he helped to resolve my issue. Unfortunately, this review hits the Copley Fairlawn club not the general customer service of planet fitness.

When we visited, the staffer was very friendly in explaining how things work. They don't offer pizza or bagels currently, but they're working on getting that action going one or two days per week. We downloaded the PF app and checked in digitally. I invited my daughter as my guest. The locker room was clean, the locker doors are all in tact, and you have to bring your own lock or get one from the front desk. I used a treadmill and an ellyptical for about 45 minutes for my first workout. The equipment worked perfectly, including measuring my heart rate, calories, and time. The treadmills are height and speed adjustable and they face a row of TVs for your viewing pleasure. I listened to my own music, even though there is music playing in the background. You have to clean the equipment each time you are done with it, but not everyone does this and when they do, they don't actually make an effort. But I make an effort to clean the equipment because I understand why we have to clean the equipment. On my second visit, I was able to use some of the weight machines, which I very much enjoyed. This location is not very crowded, so that is my jam.

I started going to Luke's morning classes with my sister and neighbor. My sister warned me before I started, "careful... it's addictive." Not usually one for group fitness classes, I smirked and signed up. Started at a couple days a week - now I try to go every week day morning. My day feels off if I skip. Luke pushes you without being too aggressive. And the energy he brings to the studio is the best way to start the day. Don't think about it. Just do it. But remember... it's addictive.

I even asked for a standing floor bag (gym was equipped with a hanging one) for my martial arts exercises and they got one! There are plenty of weights and a few weight and cardio machines, along with an open floor room that's available as long as a class isn't running. Staff cleans regularly, prices are reasonable, and it's open 24 hours with a key tag.

Even the new hires is only diverse in age but still look the same. The staff does not reflect the patrons or neighborhood and it's hard to believe that they can't hire from more than 1 nonwhite staff person. Representation matters especially for a chain business in an urban neighborhood. Do better with your hiring practicing and make more of an effort to bring in other demographics onto the team. The team is friendly and I enjoy visiting the facility but I would also enjoy seeing more diverse staff that best represents the diversity of your patrons.

The bad I could only safely use 2 machines in the entire place. I am 6' 240lbs and regularly lift my body weight+ But it was impossible for me to transfer from wheelchair to any of the machines due to nowhere on machines to grab hold of. I did get on ab and triceps machines but almost fell on both. They were able to take off the seat for the hand elipticle machine and I could use the rope cable machine but thats it. Moved away from my old gym that over half the machines had multiple places welded/or built onto them from manufacture to grab onto. Not "planet"? fitness. Perhaps if we have some more 10+ year wars and more GI Joes come back gimped more businesses might tap into their profits to accomadate us??? Just writing this so others in wheelchairs don't have to waste their time trying here.
