On one hand, there's Luke the handyman - Extremely…read moreinefficient, took over six hours over 2 days for a handful of minor tasks, of which he only completed 1 successfully - Did not perform several of the tasks I requested up front, didnt bother to schedule any sort of followup to finish the work despite me asking multiple times - Asked me for help lifting a heavy object in the middle of the work day - Didnt finish painting for some reason (see picture) - Replaced smoke detector batteries, except for the one in the garage. When the battery he forgot to replace did run out of juice a week later, another company discovered the wired smoke detectors werent connected, so they all had to be replaced. Whether this was incompetence or negligence on Luke's part, I cant say, but I would not trust him to keep your home safe On the other hand, there's Wayne the boss - a loose cannon, to put it mildly. His main role seems to be some sort of enforcer, as he lacks the technical skills to schedule appointments or provide payment receipts - Failed to schedule appointment, I had to text him to ask when they were coming (got a 1-word response) - Doesnt know how to use email, I had to repeatedly text him my own email, but he never figured it out so eventually I had to ask for HIS email in order for him to try to send me a receipt - Instead of emailing a receipt/bill like a normal business, he showed up at my door to demand payment, threatening to physically assault me. This was after I already offered to pay Luke when he left days prior and gave him a generous tip Again, the work that was done wasnt done properly, and I had to pay someone else to fix it. Unbelievable!

He and his guy were kind, professional, and thorough. His quote was almost half of what the company was asking. Once I approved, they were out the next day, and even followed up when NES tried to pull some bureaucratic nonsense with me. They made sure I was back online in my desperate time of need. I happily referred them to my neighbor, and I now refer to you: These are good, honest people you can trust. They will get you back home, safe and sound.

We've had so many professionals doing work on our house over the past decade. Remodels, roofing,…read moreHVAC, tree trimming, window installation, you can name it. But I don't think we've ever had someone so patient, so friendly, so completely honest, so professional and remarkably diligent as Bryan from Hoffman Brothers! We had the pleasure of making his acquaintance today. Our electrical panel required new breakers, and we needed two new outlets to be installed outdoors. We weren't imagining a national heatwave this week when we scheduled the appointment. Undaunted, Bryan worked through the heat for hours upon hours, even right through dinner, and got the job done beautifully and expertly. He was truly amazing! And we would definitely call Hoffman Brothers for any additional electrical needs. I think we would actually make a special request that they send Bryan back again.

We've paid Hoffman Brothers a monthly Key Member fee for over a year. Until this summer, we had no…read morecomplaints. They installed our tankless water heater and a whole-house water purification system, and both jobs went well. Then they came out for one of the two annual HVAC check-ups included in the plan. Nothing was wrong with our attic unit. It had run fine all summer, even through a week-long delay on Hoffman's end getting a tech out for the visit. When he finally came, he recommended some repairs, assured us none were critical, and left. Less than 24 hours later, we woke to a massive leak that had destroyed half an upstairs ceiling. We called and they sent out another technician. The damage was on us, he said, for not approving repairs on the spot. What the first tech said or didn't say? "He said/she said," he told us. A manager would call, he promised. Five business days later: crickets. Hoffman Brothers' website promises to protect your "property, peace of mind, and comfort." We paid for that protection every month. When a leak hit within a day of their own service call, they protected themselves instead.
