I just moved into town from the west coast and needed a vet for my sick cat. I called them to see if they're accepting new patients. The woman who answered the call was rude. She said they weren't accepting new patients and hung up the phone on me. How do you turn away a sick cat? I find it really hard to believe they won awards. I've only been in town for a few weeks and find it very difficult establishing a new vet for my pets. Either they're not accepting new patients, not open on weekends, or don't allow walk ins (which is just crazy to me). I never had this problem in my last state I lived in. PA needs to do better with animal healthcare. read more

Very nice office staff. Very good vets. They listen to you and make their decisions on what they find and what you tell them. They are very caring. read more

Words aren't even going to come close to expressing my gratitude to Dr. Christie. Our kitten was extremely sick. Helpless... Lifeless and very little chance of survival. Even knowing the odds he would make it through the night, Dr. Christie never thought of giving up on him. She fought for his little life when he was too sick to fight for himself. Dr. Christie is more than a vet. She has the heart, compassion and love for animals which made the difference of our little guy now having a long beautiful life Thank you so much. You'll never know how huge my heart is right now read more

I've been taking my pets here for 13 years, and while they don't particularly like it, they do get the best care here. Dr. Wendi and Dr. Sperling are stellar, but their staff is also worth their weight in gold. They fawned over my two greyhounds and were so incredibly kind when they needed to be put down, and even sent us a condolence card. Now, they fawn over my skittish greyhound, love on my fat pitbull, and treat my abused and fearful lab mix with incredible gentleness. Prices are more than reasonable (but I'm from New York) and they take the time to review all options with you. read more

This office is a fucking joke. Called to get some information and the lady on the phone was so rude. If you don't like your job then work somewhere else. Can't even get the time correct saying good afternoon at 9 AM. This ain't the only time I've called and the same lady is always on the phone with an attitude. So ridiculous and unprofessional. Y'all are better off going somewhere else where not only your pets will get treated with respect but also you. read more

This collar is a total joke don't waste your money here we have yet another celebrity pushing something that doesn't work meaning Dr Phil says he uses it and loves it. I wouldn't waste my money the return policy is a joke too the only way you get your money back is if it's unused and in the original packaging how are you supposed to know if it works if you don't put it on your animal!! read more

Very rude on the phone. I am new to area and wanted to get some follow up lab work done on my cat who had the hyperthyroidism iodine treatment procedure a few months back. I read the reviews below and decided to call to get some more information. The receptionist who answered the phone was very abrasive and not anyone I would have be the first point of contact (for any business). I explained that I was new to the area and looking to establish a new vet for my cat. I needed specific follow-up lab work and wanted to know an estimate of pricing (so that I would be financially prepared, etc.) She huffed and puffed as if I was asking her something that wasn't her job and she further refused to give me any type of estimate, stating "we just don't give prices out over the phone." I pushed further as to why and even listed the special labs we would need and she got nasty, "I can't tell you this information." I thanked her and said I will not be choosing this vet to care for my loved pet if they can't be transparent and upfront with something as simple as prices (or estimates). She said "okay!" read more

Dr. Christie Smicherko did an excellent job with my dog today. She is an amazing vet. Dr. Smicherko explained everything to me that was going on and I was able to understand all the information. I even received paperwork that explained it further. I recommend this place to anyone. Dr. Smicherko was marvelous with my Koda bear! :) read more

Dr. Sperling and Dr. Wendi are very kind, compassionate and have taken great care of our dogs. Overall, I would (and have) trusted my pets with Dr. Paws for a while now and will continue to do so. read more

Dr. Wendi is absolutely wonderful. My husband and I have a very nervous large pitbull. Dr. Werger never judges our boy and is very kind and gentle with him. We seem to also deal with Christine the VT and she is equally as compassionate. She even came out to the parking to give him his vaccinations bc he was too scared to go inside. They are patient, accommodating and caring. They seem to be very dedicated to their jobs. Recommend highly! Thanks so much to everyone at Dr. Paws, esp. Dr. Werger and Christine! read more

I've owed Dr. Paws this review for a while now. We've been taking our dogs and cats there for a few years now and the experience has been outstanding. They don't oversell like another vet office in the area we tried. They actually evaluate your situation and make the appropriate recommendations. None of their employees have ever been afraid of our pit bulls, which is another issue we had at, yet another, vet office. Dr. Wendi is our primary and I couldn't be any happier. Dr Sperling has only seen us on occasion, typically "emergency" type visits, but our experience with her has also been fantastic. I'm still convinced her "hunch" of curiosity saved my cats life. I'd confidently say the entire package couldn't be better. The experience of friendliness is consistent with whoever you speak to from the minute you walk in until you leave. read more

Not a client, but wanted a second opinion on what my options were for my dog. I was thrilled with the amount of time the person spent with me. If I have any issues with my current vet, I can tell you this team would be my first choice. BTW...spoke with two other Vets in area, neither were as friendly, forthcoming and helpful as this person was. Thanks for your time. read more

If I could I'd give Dr PAWs 10 stars, I would. Dr. Sperling has been our vet for over 18 years. We currently own 2 cats, who have received very personal care- Dr Sperling has Even gotten down on the floor to make eye contact with EmmyLou - she's rather timid. Their staff has been patient, helped us make difficult decisions with past pets and their love of animals shows. Don't be surprised at the cats & dogs who wonder freely in the office, along with the parakeets & aquarium. read more

Dr. Sperling, to put it nicely is very unprofessional. She was uncompassionate and had no bed side manner. I now understand why she works with animals, she does not understand how to interact with humans. My other dog goes to Memorial Veterinary in Throop and she sees Dr. Wandell, who is wonderful!! Needless to say I will never return to Dr. Paws. read more

Called in to get an appointment. After I described the problem my pet was having, I was told no new patients are being accepted.

Dr. Sperling has been our doctor for nearly 20 years. We love her and everyone at the office. She never pressures you into unnecessary treatments, and treats all animals with love and respect. The prices are fair, and the office is well kept. She is a true expert and stays on top of the latest research. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I called them about a cat who couldn't even move. I told them I didn't think he would make it without seeing someone, and all the woman cared about was if they'd seen any of my animals before. DEFINITELY AVOID. They have no interest in emergency situations, clearly. Shame on them. read more

I was very pleased with the attention that the staff showed my dog. Even after the exam was complete and my questions were answered, the vet (Wendi) stuck around to talk casually about pet ownership. When speaking about vaccinations and treatments, she spoke frankly about which ones are optional. It sealed the deal for a good review when she told me that they wouldn't judge me if I chose not to get all the vaccines-- that they supported my decision to pick and choose based on my dog's environment. I haven't been to many other vets, but I was also surprised at how affordable the entire visit was. All in all, I am very happy. read more

I adoptd my dog, Gretchen, 15 years ago and since then, she was an absolute enthusiastic, bright, joyous spot in everyone's day. She was a constant companion and we went to Dr Paws for her small needs for years. I always saw Dr Wendy, who always seemed cheerful and friendly. Competancy was not an issue because they were always minor things. But when Gretchen needed very expensive life-saving surgery last year I had to apply for Care Credit. After repeated calls pleading the office manager at Dr Paws to consider taking it, and having all of my calls ignored, I had to seek a new vet. Imagine that anxiety-driven week. Trusting a complete stranger with your dog's life. We were besides ourselves with worry. That was December. Our dog has died and last month we adopted a puppy. I just called Dr. Paws to make an appointment to have him neutered and they told me I was no longer welcome there. I was no longer a client because I owed them money. How much? I asked. $22. And it's too late. "You're no longer a client, you need to find a different vet." The woman who answered was surly and nasty. They turned on a years-long client for 20 bucks. So, caveat, beware the smiles and the cheerfulness. You become a stranger to them at the drop of a hat. Deserving, apparently, to be treated like gutter trash and turned away at the door. read more

What rating do you give to a vet that you can never get an appointment with? I've heard such good things about Dr. Paws over the years. The reviews that Dr. Paws has been their vet for 18 years seems to be the only way to get in with them. I've tried calling a few times over the past few months. They just don't take new patients. I asked them if they could refer me to someone else, the person answering the phone was rude and condescending - "you just have to call around." No help whatsoever. read more
