He is a great communicator, responsive, dependable, and easy to work with. His crews do a thorough job, keep the work areas clean, and pay attention to the details. Just as importantly, when I refer him to a client, I know they are going to be taken care of and that I won't have to worry about following up or chasing things down. I've worked with plenty of painters over the years, and Tito is someone I know I can count on. Arteen is an owner-operator who takes pride in his work, and the quality shows. We've had many paint jobs done in different homes over the years, and his attention to detail really stood out. He was careful to keep everything clean before and after painting. For example, he removed every light switch, outlet, and fixture, cleaned them, and carefully put everything back. We were impressed enough with his attention to detail that we also asked him to take care of some additional home improvement work that wasn't related to painting. He was flexible about working around other vendors who were in the home at the same time, and he communicated clearly throughout the project. We always knew when he would be there, what he planned to accomplish, and what had been completed. He is also a genuinely nice person and a pleasure to have around. We would definitely recommend Arteen and will certainly call him again for future projects.

I found The Affordable & Licensed Handyman through Yelp because they had great reviews so I was interested to see how much their service fee would be for a simple job when I was looking for a plumber. I needed a license plumber due to home insurance requirement to do this installation or I would've done it myself. They were responsive when I talked to them through Yelp projects. I was shocked with how much I was quoted because it was almost double the price of the automatic shut off valve device I paid for. So I had to confirm that the price that was given to me was just to switch out the bad unit with the new one. They didn't have to do anything else like run new pipes or replace anything else. When I communicated to them that the quote was high, they asked how much did i wanted to pay. I thought they would try to be more reasonable since the name is The Affordable. I give them a range based on the prices from other plumbing company that I reached out to and they couldn't do it which I understand they can set their own prices. Maybe for big projects, they'll give more of a reasonable price which is why they have great reviews on Yelp but just to replace a bad automatic shut off valve with a brand new one, I think it was overprice so I used another plumbing company where they were very reasonable on the price.

We received three bids for painting the interior of our home, and choosing Martin Carabajal…read morePainting turned out to be the right decision. Martin made a commitment that the project would be completed within two weeks. One of my longtime service mottos is "under commit and over deliver," and Martin's team delivered. The attention to detail impressed us. One painter in particular was such a perfectionist that I watched him run his hand over the walls looking for imperfections from previous paint jobs that needed attention. I started calling him "Mr. Majestic." That level of pride in workmanship says a lot about the crew. Martin also made the process easier from the beginning. We were comparing three contractors, and he included proof of insurance with his proposal without making me chase it down. A neighbor had also recommended him on Nextdoor, and her comments gave us additional confidence that he was the right fit for our project. The crew worked hard, moved furniture as necessary, did an excellent job cleaning up, and even helped rehang pictures. At the end of the project, they left us enough touch-up paint to take care of the inevitable scratches and scuffs that we homeowners will create ourselves. One of the best parts of the project was something we hadn't expected. Martin included a professional Dunn-Edwards color consultation as part of the job. Our consultant, Asia, helped us sort through recommendations from friends and our own endless opinions and guided us to Ball of String. The finished color brightened our home beautifully. And providing a professional paint designer as part of the project may have saved my marriage! Anyone who has tried to get two people to agree on an entire houseful of paint colors will understand. There is one thing Martin and I both probably should have discussed more--the color on the stairwell. We're replacing our front entry door, and I decided to wait rather than spend the additional money now. In hindsight, I was being "penny wise and pound foolish." That's on me as much as anyone. Once the new front door is installed and we've settled on its color, Martin will be the person I call to come back and finish the stairwell the way it should be. The finished interior looks great, Martin kept his commitment, and the crew's workmanship, attention to detail and cleanup were excellent. Perhaps the best recommendation I can give is that I already know who I'll be calling for the next phase of the project.
