I have never been treated so disrespectfully and harshly from someone claiming that they want to…read morehelp people. My husband and I went to see Mrs. Parker for some marriage counseling. On my individual appointment with her, I discussed my hopes in the future to have another baby. Mrs. Parker was very harsh and told me that "An unselfish mother would worry about the children she has now." She crossed the line and almost made me have a panic attack because she attacked me so very badly. She knew I had a lot of childhood trauma and very sensitive, but that did not stop her. She even knew she had crossed the line. I hesitantly went to the next appointment thinking some people just have bad days, maybe it wasn't a good time for her either. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. She apologized to me, explaining that I had been on her heart all weekend and that she was praying I would come back. She told me she got impatient as a therapist and tried to pull me out of it right then and there, but knew that she had to let me do the work and just guide me. Now, I should have seen all these warning signs, but since we only had one bad session, I continued to go. We were scheduled to see her every Wednesday evening. My husband had gotten hurt at work and had to spend several hours at the urgent care getting x-rays and stitches. It was about 2 hours before our appointment with Mrs. Parker, and I text her as soon as I found out to cancel. I also asked if we should make a payment because we had cancelled too close to our appointment. She text me back and stated " No. This is something you could not avoid. Emergencies happen sometimes. I understand that." And then let me know that "I am sorry he got hurt. I will see you next week." The following Monday, Mrs. Parker texts me to confirm my appointment for Tuesday afternoon. I was extremely confused because she told us we were scheduled every Wednesday and that we had that "slot". I thought there was some kind of mistake. The response that I received in return was awful. There really was a lack of empathy, sympathy, compassion, and general warmth. It's unfortunate that she is only concerned with dollars and cents.

She gave great options for things that we could include in the ceremony if we wanted and even created a special hand blessing for us based on a different tradition we had mentioned we thought was cool. I loved that she kept some of the ceremony script a surprise until the ceremony itself as it made it feel even more special and impactful to me. We invited Jessie to stay for the remainder of our wedding, and she fit right in with our family and friends. She added a lot of positive energy and love to a magical day. In addition to officiating, we also asked Jessie to lead a morning yoga class on the morning of the wedding. Again, we are so happy we did! I enjoy yoga but don't do it as frequently as I should, and I was on the fence about attending because I was starting to get stressed about wedding logistics. I decided to go, and it was exactly what I needed. Her class was appropriate for all levels, so I didn't feel pressured to do something that was too difficult. Those who are more advanced had options to do things at their level too. After I felt so calm and ready to take on anything that came my way, which significantly helped with my ability to be in the moment for the wedding and let go of control of all the logistics (something I struggle with). All our family in attendance loved the class, including my Mother In Law that is a yoga teacher herself. If you are considering taking her class or having her lead one at your event, do it! We also have been working with Jessie on resilient relationship coaching. It has been very helpful so far in deepening our understanding of each other, supporting each others personal growth, and improving the communication issues we have struggled with over the years. It can be very hard for me to be vulnerable in front of others, but Jessie creates a loving and accepting space that makes it possible to be open and honest in our sessions. Since we are not in the area, we have been able to do the sessions via Zoom, which has been very convenient. Our experience with Jessie has been very positive and we would both highly recommend her to anyone looking for officiating, coaching, or yoga. We cancelled all future appointments and are still pursuing divorce at this point.
